//-------------------------------------------------------// Young Discord and the Life-Size Gingerbread House -by Sunflower1414- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// "Dorian! My house is edible!" //-------------------------------------------------------// "Dorian! My house is edible!" Discord looked around at the decorations strewn across the walls. "Pwetty shiny lights..." he said aloud, not being able to fully pronounce the letter R yet. "Dowian, look! Pwetty shiny lights!" Dorian, the well-dressed action figure that Discord carried around with him all the time, turned his plastic head around where it was, just enough to glimpse the tree covered in small, bright lights and various ornaments. "Looks like the decorations for this house is complete. You and your parents have done an exquisite job," he remarked. "A squeezing job? Is the tree squished?" Discord asked with concern. "No, Discord," Dorian replied. "It's a compliment. You really need to read some finer literature." "Dowian, you make no sense." "Neither does eating hot chocolate like it was ice cream," he retorted. "Who gets brain freeze over that?" Discord ignored the question and made his way to the kitchen. "Dowian, think mum is in the kitchen? I think I hear something inside, and I can't find mum anywhere else." "You think?" Dorian asked as they approached the doors to the kitchen and dining area, attempting to cover his ears with failure. "Now Dowian, if mum is in here, can you please show her you talk? She says I'm going cwazy, and if I don't stop, I'll gwow up to be a big scary monster and the pwincesses will turn me into a stone." Dorian sighed. "Well, you know how I feel about larger living creatures. One second they are safely far, the next second they step on me like they want to execute me!" "Dowian, you use vewy big words." Discord entered the kitchen, which was currently a mess of turkey feathers and indoor barbeque sauce floating out the window, messing up the laws of physics and the walls. Discord's mother Eris was clearly overworked, as seen in the brown streaks of hair that were seen in her usually snow-white hair. She turned around spotted Discord holding his favourite toy in front of him. "Mum? Dowian wants to say something." Eris looked at the little doll, who was currently as still as any plastic figure would be. Not a word came out of it for five entire minutes before a timer rang to signal that the holiday turkey was ready. She turned to take the turkey out of the oven, letting the oven spit it out onto the large plate. "Discord, I'm busy. I don't have so much time to stare at your toy." Discord began to protest that Dorian was not a mere toy when Eris pulled out a box from one of the cupboards. "Here, Discord. Why don't you and Dorian build this?" Discord looked at the picture on the box. "Mom, Dowian never asked for a dollhouse." "It's not a dollhouse," Eris replied, rolling her eyes. She snapped her fingers, and the box teleported onto the dining table. "It's a gingerbread house. You can build and decorate this while I add decorations outside our home. It will be a wonderful surprise for Daddy, won't it?" "Okay. Can Dowian help too?" "Sure! Now just be good and don't mess around with anything in the kitchen." Eris then teleported out of the room and appeared outside the window on the soft blanket of snow. Discord opened the box and pulled out the pieces of gingerbread and two tubes of icing. He handed the smaller one to Dorian, who was now on top of the table and standing beside the box. "You ice the inside, and I'll ice the outside," Discord told Dorian, starting to put the gingerbread walls around Dorian. "Don't wowwy. The door is big enough for you, I think." "Discord, the door is stuck to the rest of the gingerbread wall," Dorian complained. Got anything for me to carve it with?" "The door looks fine to me," Discord answered, opening the door of the miniature house that was once stuck in place. Discord looked at awe at one of the first things he did with magic--at least, one that actually went right. "Dowian, can you do that with the windows?" "I'll sure try," he answered, opening the gingerbread windows with his small bit of magical power. He looked at the interior of the edible residence, looking out the door at Discord. "Would you like to see?" he asked. "Wait, I didn't finish putting on the icing!" he said, with a concentrated look on his face. "Oh yes! I nearly forgot!" Dorian remembered, rushing inside to put icing on the edges of the small house. * * * At last, Discord and Dorian had turned the gingerbread house into an exact, edible replica of their own house. They were now snacking on the extra Jolly Ranchers when Discord thought aloud, "I wonder what it looks like from the inside." "It looks marvelous," Dorian replied. "What?" "It means really, really, really nice." "Oh." Discord looked around the house and out the window. "Mum and Dad awe--are not inside yet. Do you think I can see inside? Like, you can shwink me to your size?" Dorian thought for a moment. "It might take a lot of magic. Only if you help me." "How?" "Concentrate on shrinking. Use your magic to help you." "What if I mess up?" "Don't worry. Concentrate..." They both shut their eyes tight and concentrated on the spell as much as possible. Discord opened one eye and peeked around the room. "Dowian! We did it! We're inside the kitchen of the gingerbwead house! It looks just like our house, but made with candy!" Dorian also looked around, a look of confusion on his face. "Discord, I don't remember seeing a dollhouse on the table in here, much less a replica of our house. And how come I don't see the walls of our real house from the window? Not to mention that you still look bigger and this dollhouse seems just the right size..." then it dawned on him. "Dowian?" "Yes?" "Did we turn our actual house into gingerbwead?" * * * Entropy floated home from work like usual, a bit earlier today due to the Hearth's Warming vacation. "Finally, some time away from the serious city. I might actually get some rest for once!" he thought gleefully, walking into his house, which was finely decorated for the season. He closed the dark chocolate-bar door, and walked into the hallway, scented with peppermint in every corner. He opened the kitchen door... "Eris, honey! Are you okay?" Entropy asked in fear as his wife Eris was acting like a chaotic maniac and eating the windows and walls. "Daddy, mum said she got a sugar wush," Discord calmly replied, holding Dorian innocently at his side. Tears started to swell from his eyes, and soon Discord was crying so hard that his tears were flooding the house. "I'm sowwy! Dad, don't make the pwincesses turn me into stone! I just wanted to see the gingerbwead house I made so me and Dowian accidentally turned our house into it and--" his words were then buried in tears. Entropy looked down at his son in complete agony, and finally spoke. "Discord, please stop crying. It's alright." Discord sniffed a bit and looked up at his father, who now conjured a toilet flush out of the wall and pulled it down. Discord's flood of tears flushed out of the house. "Discord, you decorated the house really well. And I'm surprised the doors actually open. How did you do it?" Discord started to smile a bit. "I worked on the outside, and Dowian worked on the inside. Then we both used magic for the doors, and windows. And we used icing too! And candy canes, and peppermints, and jolly wanchers, and gumballs..." "You can stop now, Discord," Entropy replied. "Now, how about you help me fix that mess your mother is making and wait for our friends to come over for dinner?" Discord's smile grew even wider. "Sure! As long as Dowian can help too!"
