I hum to myself as I trot over to the Ponyville hospital. This is going to be so fun! I volunteered to read to all the sick foals and I know just the book to read to them. Well, its a collection of lots of short pony tales, but it will still be fun. This way, the foals can pick the one they want me to read to them. I push open the front doors and walk in. The mare at the desk looks up and smiles at me.

"Oh, twilight!" She looks at the clock on the wall. "You're early." I smile at her and use walk up to the desk.

"I like to be early where ever I have to be. That way I can never be late." I stand and put my hooves on the desk. "I hope its fine.. If not I can come back in five minutes." The mare looks up at the clock and frowns.

"You would still be ten minutes early." She mumbles. "Let me see if the foals are ready for you." The mare turns away from me to the phone and dials a number. I smile at her a wait. She glances at me and frowns again. "Um, Nurse Redheart, Twilight Sparkle is here for the foals. Um, yes I know. Yes I can. I will send her right up." She hangs up the phone and turns back to me. "Take the elevator to the second floor and the room will be on the left. Number 273." I turn and walk over to the elevator.

"Thank you!" I say before jumping in and use my magic to push the floor 2 button. The doors close and before I know it I was on the second floor. I step out onto the carpet and trot down the hall. 268, 269, 270, 271, 272, 273! I stop and open the door. There are ten sick beds, five on each side of the room. The foals were sitting on there bed talking. All but one foal, that is. On the bed closest to me was a little white filly with a purple and black mane and tale. She was snuggled up under her blanket. Her eyes where closed and she appeared asleep. I walked up and took a closer look at her. She had black curly lines on her cheek coming from her eyes like tears.

"Twilight! Welcome!" I jump when Nurse Redheart spoke. I turned away from the filly and walked up to her. She gave me a hug and turned to the new quiet kids. "This is Twilight. She has volunteered to read some stories to you all. But you have to stay quiet and not interrupt her while she is reading. Do you all agree?" The foals all shook there head yes and a few muttered out an ok. "They are all yours!" Redheart said before leaving the room. I glance over at the filly who was still laying in the bed. I grab out my book from my saddle bag and sat down in the middle of the beds.

"Ok so the book I brought is a collection of pony tales." I open the book to the table of contents. "I'm going to let one of you foals pick the story I read. Then tomorrow I will let a different one of you pick, and so on. Please raise your hand." I smile as four of them stick there arm up.

"Oh, you wont be coming back here tomorrow." I hear a soft voice whisper behind me. I turn and see the little white filly siting up on her bed. Her eyes are full of sorrow. It it quiet unnerving.

"Oh stop that, Fortune. You don't need to freak every pony out." A small orange-red filly said. She looks at me. "That there is Fortune. She is always saying things like that." She smiles. "There is nothing to worry about though." I give her a smirk.

"Do you want to pick the story?" I ask her. She jumps up and shake her head yes. I notice that the little orange-red filly has a short wing. That must be why she was here. I call her up and she walks over.

"Um." She looks down at the book. "How do you say that?" I look down at the name she was pointing at. It was the story of the Elemental ponies. I smile.

"That is the story of the Elemental Ponies. You chose good! Whats you name?" I say and lower myself to her height. She stands up straight.

"The names Fox. Fox Fire." She trots back to her bed and jump on it.

"That's a pretty name, Fox. A pretty name for a pretty pony!" I smile as Fox blushes. I open my book to the page indicated.

"The story of the Elemental Ponies. Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, before the Elements Of Harmony where discovered, the land was ruled by four alicorn ponies. They represented the four main elements, fire, water, wind, and earth. These four ponies where called The Elementals." I glance up at the foals, and seeing that I still have their attention, I continued. "The Elementals ruled fairly, and the ponies of Equestria where happy. But then, one of the oldest elements appeared. The element of darkness. It came up in the Elementals hearts and minds, corrupting them. They changed, each one making there own elements wreck havoc on the ponies. There was death left and right, and no one to stop them. Fires, storms, earthquakes, and floods, all over Equestria.

Some ponies tried to stop them, but all failed. All but one. It was a small filly. She was lead to fight. Lead by the spirit in her. The spirit of Harmony. She went after the Elementals, and defeated them. But no one saw the little filly  after that. She was gone, just like the Elementals she defeated. Not a trace left of the little pony. But the Elementals where gone and peace was oncce again restored to Equestria. It is said that one day, the Elementals will return to take back there rightful place as ruler of Equestria and bring havoc back." I close the book and look up. "That's all for today. I cant take anymore of your time." The little filly Fox Fire looked at me with her red eyes and raised her hand.

"How can you be sure that story is just a pony tale?" She said before I could call on her. I smiled and used my magic to put the book in my saddle bag.

"Well, Fox, its just a made up story. If it was real, then there would be signs of it." Fox put her hoof down and crawled under her blanket. I put my saddle bag on and turn to head to the door.

"That's what the said about the mare in the moon, but you saw threw that one." I feel my skin crawl. I turn and see the little white and purple filly standing right behind me. I turn to face her and slowly back out the door. That filly creeps me out.

"Well, Fortune, I saw the signs that the mare in the moon was real, and there are no signs for this story." The filly slowly blinks at me and then sighs. She turns and jumps back on her bed.

"Goodbye Twilight Sparkle." She said before curling up under her blankets and closing her eyes. I turn and walk out of the room.
