Sitting quietly in the desk beside Apple Bloom sat a young filly named Scootaloo, who at the moment was unaware of what was occuring in her surroundings. The Pegasus had too much on her mind- making it difficult for her to pay attention to the current lesson. Her pencil tapped continuously as her mind went blank. The entire class soon turned their attention to Scootaloo, as did the teacher; who had not seemed to happy about the disruption. She tapped the filly on the shoulder, hoping to get her attention, but did not.

"Scootaloo?" She asked as kindly as possible.

"Yeah..." She replied lost in thought.

"Scootaloo. Please quit tapping your desk. It's interupting the class." Said her teacher, Cheerilee.

"Huh?" She said in surprise. "OH! I am sorry.."

Murrmurs and giggles quickly filled the room. She recieved a few insults from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon in the process.

"Scootaloo. Please come see me after class," said Cheerfilee as she placed a red slip of paper upon the wooden school desk.

The class continued to whisper among themselves, pointing and smiling at Scootaloo as they did so.

"Is everypony looking at me..." Scootaloo asked herself as she sunk into her seat...

"Quiet down class. Let's get back on task!" Cheerilee politely said.

Minutes, then hours, finally!

From what had seemed like eternity the day passed by and it was time to go home.

As Scootaloo raced towards the door an outstretched hoof stopped her in her tracks. "Hold it Scootaloo." Said Ms. Cheerilee.

The filly looked into her teacher's eyes, then sighed upsettingly. "Oh. Yeah..."

Cheerilee took the red slip from Scootaloo and then the two sat down waiting for everyone to leave.

As soon as the class exited the classroom, Cheerilee locked the door then sat back down in her desk.

"You've seemed a little off today, Scootaloo..." Cheerilee began. "You're always focused and you rarely interupt the class. Is somethig up?"

Could Scootaloo really tell Cheerilee what was wrong. How she had felt ignored lately. Forgotten almost. Would Cheerilee laugh and say she was being silly like everyone else.

"Nothing is up, Cheerilee..." She replied hiding her eyes behind her mane.

She didn't want to face her teacher, she just couldn't, at least not now.

"Are you having trouble with the lesson? Is it confusing?" Asked her caring teacher.

"No..."

"Is it because you aren't getting enough attention in class?" Her concern began to grow.

"No..." She wanted to leave soon, before, before she broke...

"Is it bullies?" She asked with kindness.

"No..." Scootaloo and the Crusaders had gotten bullied a few times, but it hadn't been the issue at the moment...

"Is it Rainbow Dash?" Cheerilee asked quietly.

A tear slowly trickled down the filly's cheek, moistening it with salty tears.

"NO! IT'S NOT!" Scootaloo screamed aloud, before storming out of the classroom.

Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were trying to ask Scootaloo a question, but the filly had ran too quickly to bother responding. She just continued to run, until she was certain she was out of their site...

The Pegasus filly soon reached a desolate mountain in Ponville and sat right underneath a cherry tree. She made sure to stop crying, so her friends wouldn't see her in such a wrecked state. As she calmed down, she decided to take a small walk around the unexplored area. A little adventure was just what she needed to take her mind off of the little incident she had just had with Ms.Cheerilee.

"Hey. Scootaloo?" Asked a voice from the distance, but she ignored it. It didn't matter anymore anyways...

For some reason Scootaloo had been feeling very sad and alone lately, and she couldn't explain why. She still had the Crusaders and unfortunately from time to time they'd be busy too hang out, so Scootaloo would normally be alone. But she had gotten so used to the feeling of loneliness, she had no idea what it felt like not to be lonely.. She sat down by a small stream and began to toss stones into the water.

"Why does everything have to be so hard for me!" She angrily asked her reflection, expecting answers. Nothing seemed to make sense to the filly, despite her young age. She still had no idea why life was so hard on her. She was a good friend, student, and sister... Or maybe she was being too hard on herself?

Behind her a twig snapped and she could hear the sound of hoof steps approach her. She froze, afraid that they had heard her screaming at her reflection. A cyan-colored Pegasus sat down beside Scootaloo, causing the filly to nervously swallow. Out of curiosity Scootaloo stole a glance of the Pegasus and it was none other than Rainbow Dash...Scootaloo shut her eyes tightly and took a deep breath, hoping she could keep her cool.

"So what's up?" The Mare asked as she patted Scootaloo softly on her head.

"You know, the usual. Stunts, school, trouble. Nothing new." She was lying to heself and Rainbow Dash. She didn't want to tell Rainbow Dash what was up. Because she felt no one would truly understand her feelings and emotions. Scootaloo hadn't realized it yet, but she had begun to cry. She tried her best to silence herself, but only resulted in failure. Rainbow Dash heard Scootaloo whimper sadly, she knew something else was up, and she intended on finding out.

"Hey, Scoots. Is something wrong? Was it something I said to you?" Rainbow Dash asked worriedly.

Scootaloo knew the only way to prevent herself from crying was to avoid any dialogue a well a eye-contact. So  she just shook her head from left to right.

"Do you plan on talking to me?" She asked Scootaloo with urgency. Scootaloo looked towards the dirt and drew a circle in the ground with her hoof. She shook her head from side to side again, she had barely manage to say "no".

"Scootaloo. First you won't talk to me anymore! And now you won't look at me anymore!? D-Do you... hate me?" She asked.

Tears uncontrollably streamed down the filly's cheeks and she stood up and ran away from Rainbow Dash. She ran as fast as she could, worried her idol would think differently of her if she saw her in such wrecked state. Scootaloo proceeded to run, until she could no longer hear Rainbow Dash calling her name....
