Load Full StoryTwilight Sparkle stared out the second floor window of her very own library, watching the sun set into the horizon before her. It had been a long day. Well, most of the days have been long recently; so many strange things were happening at one time, she was surprised she, or even anypony else, could keep up with it all. She smiled, and looked over to where her assistant, Spike, had already tucked himself into bed and fallen fast asleep. Spike had a long day as well, helping Twilight and her friends out through most of the week, so he deserved a good rest.
The lavender unicorn turned back towards the window and leaned on the sill, blankly staring at the setting sun once again. She contemplated about the previous days, and how she was so busy she didn't even have time to eat, or go to the bathroom, or shower, or even sit down. It had definitely been a busy week.
Twilight was tired, very tired, as a matter of fact. But she couldn't find it in herself to go to bed, and instead watched the sun set slowly over the horizon, resting her head on the window sill and continue to reflect back to her previous days. When suddenly, her head quickly lifted off the window sill from the sudden realization she just encountered, her eyes widened in surprise, wondering why she hasn't noticed this before. She quickly ran over to her desk and sat down, a much better place to try and connect all her thoughts together than with the Equestrian sun blinding her.
The unicorn reflected back to Monday, when these events started happening. She met a being. It was unlike anything she ever saw or even read about, but for some reason, she claimed she did that day. It was strange, because it almost felt like it wasn't her own voice. The being was a bipedal creature similar to that of monkeys, the only difference was that this being was much larger than a monkey, and had the ability to communicate with Twilight and her friends. The being had a name, but Twilight couldn't recall, it called itself something else other than it's name though, a "Human" if Twilight could recall correctly. The human seemed confused about his surrounding, unsure of how he arrived or why. Long story short, Discord somehow managed to free himself from him stone prison, before being stopped by the human through a method Twilight couldn't quite remember, and Princess Celestia sent the human back home.
Everything just got more and more peculiar from there.
Right after Twilight got home, six more humans were sitting outside of the Everfree Forest, all seeming to be friends of the sort, Twilight went up and greeted them as if they were the first humans ever in Equestria, which she knew now wasn't true, but unlike last time, she didn't send them straight to Celestia to return to their home world, instead bringing them to her library to, at the time stated, "Study" them. When the unicorn and the six bipedal beings got to the library, Twilight engaged in casual conversation as if these six humans in her library were friends since birth. She remembered some characteristics of the humans, one was skinny, one was rather overweight, one was of the female gender, one wore glasses and seemed to be the oldest of the group, another was of the female gender again, but wore glasses as well, and the last one seemed to be the youngest of the group. Another long story short, while Twilight was on her way with the friends and the six humans to Canterlot, the Changeling army invaded, as if on cue, and proceeded to track down the humans. Changelings attacked left and right, but were easily pushed back by Twilight and her friends, with little help from the humans this time, and so, they made their way up to Canterlot Castle and sent the humans back home through the use of Celestia's magic yet again.
This theme continued throughout the entirety of Twilight's Monday, human here, human there, some good, some bad, some evil, other's batshit insane, you get the theme. But then there was one that Twilight didn't expect.
It didn't even happen outside of the Everfree forest like it usually would, but instead, right smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. A portal opened up. It was very colorful, in fact, one might describe it as being rainbow colored, even though it technically wasn't, but that's how Twilight described it at the time, for lack of better words. The portal closed as soon as a different entity popped out. He was human, Twilight could see that, but he was much...smaller. He was about the size of an actual monkey. Or a human child to put into more detail, he spoke with a sharp accent that Twilight never heard before, and like a human Twilight had encountered before, this one had a large black mustache, and an abnormally large nose. The entity told the story to Twilight that he was a plumber, and that he had a brother who looked similar to him, and saved a princess from a large dragon-like turtle in a place called the "Mushroom Kingdom", and that somehow, the large dragon-like turtle, who he referred to as "Bowser", had managed to get into this world as well and start his plan to take over Equestria. In the end, "Bowser" was defeated by the Mane Six and the strange powers the Plumber possessed, and he was off back to the "Mushroom Kingdom."
That made up the entirety of her Monday.
On Tuesday, she woke up to a loud noise near the town square, and when she went to check, it was something she definitely hadn't expected.
The Plumber had returned. But for some reason, did not recall his surroundings again. As if his memory was completely wiped before being sent back here. And for some reason, Twilight didn't recall him being here last night either, as if HER memory was erased as well. Now that she thought about it, why did she suddenly get her memory back now? But continuing on with her thought, Bowser, who the Plumber had mentioned before, didn't make an appearance today, and instead fought off another wave of Changelings at Canterlot with him before sending him back to the Mushroom Kingdom through a portal Twilight had barely managed to conjure up.
And then it was back to the humans after that. Some of which didn't even come with her to the library, and instead went off with Twilight's other friends, Rainbow Dash seemed to get the most attention, along with Fluttershy. But it didn't bother her at that time, she didn't even know they were around until Rainbow of Fluttershy would mention it to her, but she never asked what exactly they did or how they go back home with the use of Twilight or Celestia's magic.
The rest of her day was pretty much the same as yesterday, human after human, after human, after human. With some strange sightings here and there such as a very tiny human with equally tiny plant-like followers, a human who didn't have an actual name, wore a trench coat with a strange symbol on his T-shirt, sunglasses, and blue jeans that appeared to be stained with dried blood, who almost blew up half of Ponyville before being knocked out by Rainbow Dash and sent back to his world has fast as possible. There was something beyond that though, nothing about the humans or the mysterious characters, but rather the ponies she's been seeing in the town recently.
It seems strange, but it was true, there were new ponies appearing almost every minute while Twilight was out on her adventures with the humans to bring them back to their own home world. Most of them were normal, and blended in with the town life as if they had lived there forever, but Pinkie Pie didn't know them, or at least that's what she said after they had met one. And for some reason it seemed as though the Mane Six actually KNEW them. As if they've been living in this town the whole time, and Rainbow Dash even commented on how one of them looked like her "Brother", although she didn't have any brothers to begin with. But most strange of all, is some of them weren't even regular earth ponies, unicorns,or pegasi, but alicorns.
The alicorns almost all looked the same. Black coat with a red mane, or vice versa, about the height of Princess Celestia, with red snake-like eyes, bat-like wings, and weird marking all over their body. Of course, this was only the majority of the alicorns Twilight noticed in the town, some of them had differently colored manes and coats, but either way, they were still alicorns, and had to be apart of royalty of some kind, of course Twilight didn't acknowledge this at the time for some reason, only afterwards when they have already left to someplace new. But more just kept appearing, one after the other, along with the other ponies no one have ever seen before, and the humans, and the mysterious characters that appeared through unknown means.
Twilight continued to contemplate these thoughts, what exactly had been causing all this? She didn't know. She didn't really want to know, did she? She wanted to know. And after awhile of contemplating, she seemed to have come up with a theory.
There seemed to be a theme as to when these phenomenon would happen, almost instantly after Twilight's adventure with her friends and humans, other ponies, and/or the mysterious characters, almost a new phenomenon, hereby referred to as "Event", would take place, as if on cue. And during those adventures, ponies she would have never seen before would appear in Ponyville, Canterlot, or any other places while she was gone. One event leads up to a series of other events, and therefore it forms a "Story" of sorts. Yes, that seems to be it. She may be onto something. She was definitely onto something, but it still doesn't explain who, or what, is "Writing" these stories in the first place.
Twilight pulled over an inkwell, piece of parchment, and a quill using her magic, and began to write these down. She needed to keep this information. She was onto something. She liked when she was onto something. After writing down some quick jot notes on her discovery, she went back to contemplating about the entity that was creating event after event for her and her friends to endure. Then she noticed something.
After approximately thirty minutes (Not like she was keeping track or anything), she noticed another patter that had to do with this phenomenon: One of her previous enemies would come back to fight her once more as soon as a human or unidentified pony set off for an adventure with them. In the case of mysterious characters, it would usually be an enemy that THEY have battled recently, and not that of Twilight and her friends, developing a "Plot" of sorts.
And it seemed that the events would always end with the human or mysterious character going back to their home world. In the case of unidentified ponies, they would set up permanent resident in a town of their choice, as well as the alicorns, but most of the time nopony ever sees them again after that...as if the "Story" reached its "End".
Another thought. The reason there were sometimes multiple times of the same character reappearing could be the cause of another story being written about the character...but by a different entity. Did that mean there were multiple entities that planned these events accordingly? Twilight decided to come back to that later.
And another thought. There were chances that, when Twilight and her friends encountered a human/mysterious character/unidentified pony a second time, she would actually remember them, and they would remember her, could that be called a "Sequel?"
It all made sense now.
The Element of Magic continued to jot down notes. She had it down now. She knew. She quickly wrote down a more detailed version of her theory on a separate piece of parchment.
She gets it now. A human/unidentified pony/ mysterious character would present themselves to Twilight and her friends, sometimes just Twilight or only one of her friends, they would proceed to have an adventure with these "Subjects", during that, one of Twilight's past enemy, the enemy of one of the mysterious characters, or both, would appear as the main "Antagonist(s)". So that would develop the "Plot" or the "Story", and therefore, when the story reaches its "Conclusion", it's when the "Antagonist(s)" are defeated, and the "Protagonist(s)", only referring to the human or mysterious characters, would return to their home world until a "Sequel" is created.
Of course, not all the "Stories" were like this, some of them were just Twilight or one other of her friends simply cheering each other up, or one of Twilight's spells would go haywire and cause something bad to happen that could be easily fixed afterwards, or where a new enemy is risen with the sole purpose of dominating Equestria with an iron hoove, or claw, or paw, or even fist. There was also the time where she and her friends would...Well...Twilight makes sure that everyone forgets those incidents ever happened.
By now Twilight had came to her conclusion. These were all just events that add up to an entertaining story. She wonders if anything would ever be the same again. If she'll ever go back to living as she usually did. She would never know until it happened, and something told her that wasn't happening anytime soon. As long as these entities that were putting words in here mouth made her a character in a book, then she'll be just that. Words on paper, and nothing more.
After awhile though, it will all just seem...
Cliche.
Twilight set her notes neatly in the corner, turned out the light, and hopped into bed, dozing off after the last of her thoughts on this subject left her mind.
Until she was awoken by a loud crash.
Author's Note
So I've been seein' all these dislikes on my first story here, and something tells me no one likes it
No shit asshole You're all saying to yourself, and I don't blame you. I've never been too good at writing, and this is the first time I've ever submitted anything on the site that involves an attempt to use everything I've learned about fanfiction over the years, and one thing I haven't learned was that you'll be kicked in the balls. Hard.
And since everyone hitting the dislike button is refusing to give me any critical feedback, I'll just see if I can answer it myself. Is it because I missed a couple things and didn't point them out in the story? Is it because I offended people who make OCs? Is it because I was trying to be creative and make a story about character self-awareness? That last one seems most likely to be the reason.
But anyway, I'm sorry your poor eyes had to see the putrid pile of words I called a story once. And I wish you could unsee everything I put in the story.
Anyway, Despite all the negative, I always look towards the positive, and if you really wanted too, you could refer to me as the "Uwe Boll of FIMfiction" if you really wanted too, don't know who Uwe Boll is? Google is your best friend.
All this will just be a bad memory some day. And all I have to say is I learned something today, just like in the show, I should pull out a pen and paper and right to Princess Celestia about this, it'll go
Dear Princess Celestia, Today a wrote a fanfiction that I thought was good but in reality was a peice of crap that no one liked. I learned that it's better to be untalented than to be talented and get shat on by the members of the community. Could I even call this fic talent? I have no idea
Anyway, enough of me being a sarcastic bastard, stop reading, it'll just hurt your eyes more.
Goodbye.
