Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the town,
Not a pony was stirring, not making a sound,
The saddles were hung by the fire with care,
With hopes that Celestia and Luna are there.
The fillies were nestled all snug in their beds,
As visions of presents danced in their heads.
And mama in her robe, and I in my cap,
Settled right down for a cold winter nap.
When out on the road arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to my window I flew in a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw open the sash.
The moon lined the breast of the fresh fallen snow,
Gave luster of midnight to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did I see,
A giant carriage, and loyal princesses moving slowly.
With a beautiful young driver, so lovely and quick,
I thought for a moment I would have to be slick.
More rapid then griffins, her guards they had come,
And as quick as they came,
They all left by their name.
"Off Storm, off Swarm, and shield,
Off Comet, off Cupid, on honor and wield."
To the next roof, to the next,
Now dash,dash,dash away.

Once upon a hill, on a cold day of December, the ponies in ponyville were setting up for the visiting of their princesses to give the opening words for their favorite holiday; Christmas. The fillies were running around and bouncing in their bulky winter clothes as the rest of the ponies were working on decorating the stage.

"Welcome and merry Christmas!" Celestia said. Her words flew from her lips like melted butter.
A wave of cheers arose from the shivering crowed of ponies that stoob before them. Luna walked up to the front of the stage, her wings stretched out towards both sides of her, and her head was held high.
"We would like to give you a Christmas night to remember for all of the next coming year."
Her sister looked at her in a confused way. She continued.
"Celestia and I will be Santa this year!'
The crowed grew quiet. They looked at one another, whispering and wondering if what she was saying was true. The fillies stopped their merry run and frozen in mid jump.
"What I think my young sister is trying to say is that..."
Luna cut her off.
"I'm saying that we know who's naughty and who is nice." She smiled "And we will give presents to all!"

As Luna and Celestia reached the castle, Celestia pulled Luna off to the side.
"What were you thinking? We aren't able to go around in the middle of the night giving presents to everyone. There's just to many good fillies out there to get to."
Luna looked up at her elder sister.
"Tia..." she began "please can we do it just once...for me?"
Celestia had no choice, Luna already said that they would be delivering Christmas to all in ponyville, and she didn't want to let all the ponies down...she didn't want to let her sister down...again.
"Okay" Celestia said, seeing the shimmer of happiness in her young sisters eyes.

Now Christmas eve had come and all the fillies were all snuggled in their beds, awaiting for the princess Santas to come around and give them many Christmas toys. The princesses were getting all dressed up in the outfits Rarity had made for them. Celestia was Santa and Luna...well...Luna was Rudolph.
As the two princesses walked side by side down the long hall towards the big double doors. Luna was frowning and fiddling with her red nose. Celestia saw.
"What is?" she asked in a concerned voice.
"I can't get the stupid nose to stay on just right." Luna replied still moving around the big red plush nose on her face.
"You know when I gave the idea I thought I was going to be Santa and you were going to have this nose and antlers."
They both laughed.
They got into the gold carriage, and were off into the town of ponyville.

"Let's go and start to give out presents." Luna said
"Where should we start?" replied Celestia.
"Let's start on that roof and work our way back to the kingdom."
"Okay"
So the two princess set off to go deliver Christmas to all of the ponies in ponyville.

"You know Luna, that wasn't so bad."
Luna smiled. Her teeth shone as bright as the moon its self.
"Maybe we can do it next year...but can I be Santa?" Luna asked.
"We'll take turns."
That's how Christmas came to be done each year by the princess and their guards some many moons and suns ago.

" That was some Christmas we had. The princess really did do a good job on giving out the presents to all the fillies. I just wonder how they could do it all in one night."
"Ya I did to but, then I rememberd their alicorns and luna practiclly is the night. Together they can do anything as long as they work together."
"That is true I gess. I just wonder how Luna came up with the idea."
"I bet it just popped into her head. She always comeing up with new ways to do stuff."

"Luna. I have to ask. How did you come up with the idea of you and I being Santa this year?" Celestia asked as she poured her and her younger sister a glass of water.
"It wasn't that hard really. I just thought 'Hey what can my sister and I do together that will make everyone happy?' and then it hit me. Why should Santa have all the fun? Why don't Tia and I be santa! I knew that we were going to talk to everypony the next day, so I went ahead and suprised them!"
"And suprised they were dear sister of mine, suprised they were."
"You should see what I have for new years! It's going to be great! You will be the older version of father time, and then on new years I would come out as baby father of time!"
Celestia smiled as she hugged her sister.
"Just you what." she said.
