Project Orion consisted of new, more powerful ranged weapons, as well as armored vehicles pulled by griffons. These new vehicles would have a rotating catapult mounted on top. However they would be extremely slow, but almost invulnerable. Definitely more than enough to combat the metal beasts, thought the commander. The new ranged weapons consisted of a normal crossbow fitted with an attachment that allowed the firing of a larger bolt with an explosive spell cast on it. The crossbow would be slow to reload, but it would be better than a normal crossbow. When tested it worked just fine, when it was issued, however there was a slight problem, when it was exposed to dust, rust, or mud, it sometimes jammed. This would be a problem in and of itself, but, when it jammed, the bolt had a tendency to explode, thus causing severe damage to the griffon welding the weapon. This was overlooked in favor of getting the new weapons to the soldiers as fast as possible.

Back in Canterlot, however, there was a different problem. How would one resupply ammunition made in a factory whiteout a factory to make it in? Now, there was a very simple solution to this problem. The unicorns had a spell that would allow the user to duplicate simple items. One unicorn could easily duplicate a few hundred every hour. That said Lieutenant Jenkins and his troops could resupply very easily.
