Have you ever felt like you're not alone, even when you're absolutely sure you are. There that feeling, you remember it, maybe you're feeling it now, but there's a reason you have that feeling. Some people say it's your guardian angel watching out for you, some say it's a relative who has passed. Others included demons, the government, aliens, a madman in a box, but I know the full truth...at least they say it's the full truth. I'm here too share it with you. But we'll have to go back, just a few years.
It all started one summer, well maybe it was spring. Here lets settle it here and say just the end of spring. I just had turned 15 that year. High school sucked but of course it does for anyone who isn't a cheerleader or football player. As you can see I wasn't either, I was just a nobody, I belonged to no one. My friends were very diverse, a shy one, one was really depressed all the time, two turned strangely hated me (even though I was pretty nice to them infact I'm the one who put them together,) and one who was never at school. I guess I was the glue that kept them together. Though friendships were strained, we managed to get through the year, well kinda. But back to the reason I'm writing this. I started hearing, well voices. I barley noticed them at first, just my name recalled at random.
By the time summer hit life was actually good, had a part in play, worked on music projects, and things were, "normal." Soon things would take an unexpected twist. As being a fan of MLP, I was awaiting the next season premiering in the winter. I though the wait was strenuous, I kept myself distracted. And by distracted I meant internet. Head phones on, Living Tombstone blasting, a safe haven for me. Then suddenly in the bridge, a strangers voice called my name. There was no mistake, I even rewound the track to make sure it wasn't a part of the mp3. Nothing..
You probably think im crazy. Hell! I' thought I WAS crazy. That soothing voice still ringing in my head. I thought maybe my mind was playing tricks on me or someone in the room had called for me. But I was the only one in my house. I tried to forget about it and eventually I did until later on that night. My parents had just put my little sister to bed, my brother was on the computer, and my older sister was talking to some guy in her room. I had just walked downstairs after a relaxing shower when I started feeling a mixture of missing something, sadness, and loneliness. I was homesick.
Why? I didn't know.
Who was that person who I was missing? I again drew a blank mind.
I decided that sleep was the best option to my newly found depression. I flopped onto my bed, ready for the day to end.
EXCUSE THIS INTERRUPTION
I don't dream much, and when I dp it's about life or another overdue school project. Sleep just was a short emptiness from night to morning.
Alright back to my story.
That night I had one of my rare dreams of school, but then I noticed something was odd. Not a bad odd but not a very welcoming feeling either. Inside my dream was a very beautiful woman and had emerald eyes. She was a friendly woman with a slight tan and long dark blue hair. She wore a black necklace and matching hair clip thing. I assumed she was a new staff member to the school. My questions were answered as I un unexpectedly had her as a teacher. She introduced herself as Mrs. Lana, a English teacher. Afted taking a seat in the second row she singled me out asking me for an answer. I wasn't ready paying attention to the question at hand. Her deep green eyes looked through me. I gulped and gave a response. "I'm sorry Ms. Lana, can you repeat the question?" The class stared and few laughed at me. Ms. Lana had a slight smile on her face. "I had asked you if you could share with the class what you are the best at."
Fear stuck me as I searched for any answer. "Um..well...I..." I stuttered horribly as a bead of sweat formed. I hated being put in the spotlight (well except when it's an actual spotlight.) "Well?" the teacher asked.
"Im not really sure." I said quietly. The class exploded into laughter as my idiotic response remained in my head.
"Huh, dumbass," I heard someone say. My face burnt red with embarrassment. Ms. Lana broke the laughter, "That is not how we treat our classmates. Now stop it before I assign homework on the first day." The class went silent.
For the remainder of the period, we woeked on some writing thing about what we expect this school year. As the bell rang a stampede of teens ran out of the room as I still packed up my stuff. "Sir?" Ms. Lana said getting out from behind her desk setting up for next class. I rose my head from my bag, "Yes ma'am?"
She had walked to the front board and started erasing things continuing the conversation. "Now that you're not pressured by your peers, would you like to tell me what you think you do best?"
That dreaded question. I pondered all class, I still had no idea. "Um...I like to sing..and act...not very sporty." She chuckled, "Finally not a air headed jock. I thought the school had taken away all creativity." I just laugh at that comment as I proceeded to leave. "Sports are over rated anyway. Hey," I say "you wouldn't mind if I ask what your hobbies are?" My teacher smiled "Of course not. I just love astrology and Renaissance. Strange being an English teacher, huh?" "Not as strange as an actor/singer who's super shy."
The late bell rings and I ask her to write me a note for the next class.
"I can tell you're gonna be one of my favorite teachers." You say leaving the room. "Thank you," she says. "Have a good night, Sean."
I jerk to find myself in bed, disoriented and confused. "That..." I start to put pieces together in my head. "That was that voice...." I check my phone for the time. 2am and I still have no idea what just happened.
