Pony Olympics

Princess Celestia paced around the castle floors nervously, mumbling to herself to make some decisions. It was now time for the Pony Olympics, everypony had been practicing for it and it happens once in every thousand moons. Princess Celestia was struggling to host it because she feared that FireShine would intrude and cause more mischief around. The princess banged her head against the colorful windows of the throne room.

"Luna!" Princess Celestia called. She needed some help on her decision making. Suddenly the smaller alicorn walked in. Princess Luna truly was a gorgeous pony. Her coat was a stunning dark blue as well as her flowing sparkling mane. She flapped her dark feathery wings to sit next to her sister.

    "What is it, sister?"

"I'm trying to make a decision," Celestia said.

"What kind of decision," Luna questioned.

"Well, I'm wondering if I should host the Pony Olympics this year. I know everypony worked hard and busy but with FireShine on the loose, I'm not sure if I should. No traces of her have been found yet."

Princess Luna rolled her teal eyes. "Celestia, everypony had been waiting for this. There dreams are finally coming true to actually be in a Pony Olympics. Some ponies haven't even lived long enough to experience or see one. Imagine how upset they'd all be. Celestia, I know how caring you are but this is more important. You know how much the Pony Olympics mean to some ponies."

The Princess knew her sister was right. "Well, alright. You're right, Luna. We can't be crushing anypony's dreams like this." Princess Celestia nodded feeling confident to herself. Luna wasn't exactly still sane considering she had been locked on the moon for 1000 years but she had to be right on this one.

Princess Luna nodded at her sister and trotted out the throne room doors.

Princess Celestia stood on the large wooden stage with the blue-violet curtain behind her. On the curtain was the official Pony Olympic banner. The Princess stood behind a microphone getting ready to speak at the millions of ponies ahead of her. Camera ponies were filming in every direction.

"Attention everypony!" The Princess had called out. FireShine was strolling along the Canterlot roads when she heard this. Startled, she flapped her wings over to the cluster of ponies.

As she approached the area, she hid behind a yellow-green pony with a funky hat so Celestia wouldn't notice her.

"Despite some unfortunate events in Ponyville recently, I am proud to present you the official Pony Olympics! You all have been waiting for it and it takes place tonight! All the training will finally pay off for you trainers, so be prepared!"

Everypony had cheered when Celestia finished her statement. The 5 ponies were in the front of the area, also cheering.

"Oh yeah! I can't wait! I've been practicing sooo hard and now I can finally be in a Pony Olympics!" Rainbowdash cheered as she floated above her friends' heads.

"Yeah, I am going to be so excited to watch you zoom across the sky while I'm sitting in the crowd, Rainbow," said Fluttershy.

"It's just a shame that Applejack isn't going to be here, I think she was really looking forward to the running section of the Pony Olympics," Pinkie Pie said with a sad tone to her voice. "I hope she's doing alright."

Rarity fixed her mane and sighed. "Now, lets just all pray that she'll be recovered by tonight." Pinkie, Dash, and Fluttershy cheered in agreement as Rarity finished. Twilight on the other hand was facing away from them and toward the stage. Her mind was racing, she was extremely worried at the fact that something may go wrong. Twilight clamped her hooves and bang her head on the rim of the stage. Princess Celestia saw the frustrated pony and walked over to her. Since Celestia was on the stage and Twilight was in fornt of it but on the ground, the Princess knelt over so she could face the purple alicorn.

    "What is wrong, Twilight Sparkle?"

Twilight glanced up at the powerful princess. "I-I don't know. I'm just worried that-that with FireShine escaped....the Olympics...in flames..."

Princess Celestia raised a hoof to silence Twilight. "Now I know it is nerve racking to have her escaped like this but think of the ponies. They have been training their whole lives for a moment like this, some ponies don't even get to live to experience an Olympic event like this. Why don't we just all put this behind us and look up to the bright side."

"Bu-but what if I'm next? What if my family or friends is next? What if I turn my back and the whole  Equestria is in flames? The whole world is seeing this event, and if the Olympics is in flames, what will they think? They could be next! I could be next! Don't you see? We could all die," Twilight said as a tear streamed down her furry cheek.

Celestia thought about worrying but she knew she couldn't. "Twilight," she said calmly as she raised Twilight's head with her hoof so she could look her in the eyes. "There is always a bright side. You just have to stay positive and forget about this. All we can do is pray nothing bad will happen, I will send guards to protect the arena just do not worry."

Twilight sniffled and cracked a slight smile. "Please, do all the protecting that you can, because, um," Twilight was about to burst. "This was all my fault!" She screamed and began crying.

Celestia looked at her sadly but then boldly. "What do you mean?"

Twilight looked up to the Princess and narrowed her purple eyes. "I....set...FireShine....free." She said that s if Celestia was some mentally challenged idiot. Princess Celestia's eyes narrowed tight.

"You..." Princess Celestia's tone turned evil. Twilight gasped as Princess Celestia's body grew larger with magic. The white pony with multi colored hair was hovering over the small purple alicorn. The Princess's eyes turned pure red and then turned back to normal in an instant as well as her body. She got up and turned around depressingly and started to walk away.

    "Princess Celestia...I-"

    "Get out."

Twilight opened her small mouth about to explain but then turned around. What have I done? She thought. I should've just kept my mouth shut. Twilight jumped and flapped her wings, hovering over the ponies around her.

"Hey, Twilight. What just happened?-" Ranbowdash said but Twilight just flew slowly away from her as if the blue pony wasn't even there. Twilight flew over the ponies of all kinds and colors around her. She finally reached the end of rhe crowd and flew over them. Tears fell off of the purple pony's face again.

"I have failed her," Twilight said as she flew away in the sunset to her home, away form Canterlot.

At the hospital...

ShimmeryBloom sat in her white bed. She stared at the static filled TV, but was able to make out the events. She saw Princess Celestia's announcement and was ecstatic to watch the Pony Olympics. She sighed and was getting ready to leave the hospital. All she needed was rest.

"Hopefully I am able to experience the Pony Olympics, watching it on TV is boring. I want to see live action," Shimmery Bloom thought excitedly to herself. She tried her best to wipe FireShine away from her mind. Suddenly a pony nurse entered the room.

"Here are your test results, Miss Bloom."

    Shimmery Bloom sat up immediately.

"Your lungs were just a little clogged from the smoke and the heat can make you light headed and dizzy. No other serious harm was done to your body. Good thing, isn't it? We never meant to keep so here so long we've just been really busy lately. No worries though, we took care of your lungs when you were asleep."

Shimmery Bloom sighed in great relief. "Thank you, now I have to get going, back to my job."

The nurse giggled and rolled her green eyes. "What job? The plaza you were working at is destroyed. You're going to be out of business for the next couple months. You won't be working until that plaza is repaired."

"What? How will I buy food and pay the bills to my home? That job is all I have!" Shimmery Bloom began breathing heavily. All the nurse did was chuckle once more.

"Silly. The government will take care of that. Of course that would be unfair to everybody who is currently unemployed," The nurse calmly replied as if this whole thing wasn't a big deal.

"I-I have to go." The dark blue pony was miserably sweating but had no idea why. She just felt the urge to get out of the hospital immediately.

"Haha, alright sweety. You're free to leave whenever you like." With that said, the nurse walked out the door. Shimmery Bloom trotted out behind her. She went down a flight of stairs to go back into the waiting room, or lobby. She checked out of the hospital and ran out the door.
