FireShine
A Seventh Pony
Previous ChapterNext ChapterShimmery Bloom is a lucky unicorn. Since she is unemployed, she managed to get a quick job for selling products at the Pony Olympics to earn some extra cash and lucky for her, she didn't need to buy a ticket. Shimmery Bloom was preparing for the Olympics, gathering her beverages and snacks she'd be selling when Rose suddenly flew down from the sun setting sky.
"Hey, sport. Ya selling some food and drinks at the Olympics? Awesome. How much are they?"
Shimmery Bloom felt like Rose was secretly on a phone conversation with someone else. "2 dollars for a snack or beverage."
"Alright." Rose held out a hoof full of coins to Shimmery Bloom.
"Uhm, I'm not selling yet. If you want to get a snack you'll have to buy them there. It's only fair to everyone else."
Rose groaned. "Shimmer Bloom..-"
"Shimmery Bloom."
"Yeah, whatever. Shimmery Bloom, I saved your life and you're really refusing to let me buy one drink and beverage before the show starts? Hay, I should be given that whole cart!"
Shimmery Bloom pursed her lips and thought it over a second. I mean, Rose did save her life so she does deserve something in return. "Alright," Shimmery Bloom said. "You can go buy some before the event begins."
"Sweet." Rose pulled out her coins again and handed them to the dark blue unicorn that appeared to be glistening in the setting sun. Shimmery Bloom handed the food and drink to Rose. Rose chugged down the whole apple cider can and shoved the popcorn ball in her mouth. "Tasty," she said. Shimmery Bloom nodded.
"So," Shimmery Boom began. "Any luck with that fire Pegasus lately?"
"Nah, we've been searchin' for the little brat but no progress has been made. Wherever she is, she's a pretty good hider." Shimmery Bloom's eyes widened a bit in worry. She can't risk any moment like this anymore.
"Well, I, erm, hope you find her eventually," Shimmery Bloom tried rubbing the anxiety off her right away, "what's a litte Pegasus to do any harm, right? It isn't like she's an immortal alicorn."
Rose snickered. "Yeah, what's the harm she can do anyway?"
Shimmery Bloom appreciated Rose's honesty and confidence, but it's beginning to rub off a little bit as obnoxious in Shimmery Bloom's point of view.
"Now, uh, listen. I gotta go fly and get ready for the Olympics. I ain't competing, due to all the risks of getting injured since I'm a rescue pony but yeah. Don't want to be late."
Shimmery Bloom nodded as if she was saying, You can leave now. Rose was suddenly zooming away. Shimmery Bloom stared at the sunset, watching the setting sun carefully. The clouds surrounding the big ball of fire were pink, purple, orange, and blue all mixed together. Shimmery Bloom is definitely no psychic, but she just had a feeling, a feeling deep down inside of the pit of her stomach that something bad would happen. Shimmery Bloom wanted to shake her head and think that it's probably nothing but something was keeping her. She quickly turned her eyes away from the blazing view and pushed her cart of snacks toward the arena.
Rose was now in the sky, high and soaring through the air. She was flying right above the path to the arena where the Pony Olympics would take place. She was right above a group of 6 ponies who were taking the walk by foot. She couldn't exactly make out what they were saying, but she heard quite enough.
"Guys, I'm really not sure about this. That fire pegasus can attack any second! Princess Celestia probably already hates my guts for letting FireShine out of the castle, and now what if she terrorizes the whole Equestria?"
"Ehh, lighten up, Twilight. Sure the Princess is mad cause, heh, I would be too but she can't be that mad right?"
"You're not making anything better, Rainbo...."
The speech suddenly got cut off due to Rose realizing she wasn't following the path. She slammed right into a tree. When she slid down to the bottom and regained her consciousness (which was only lost for a few seconds) she spotted the 6 ponies staring at her.
"Are you alright, missy?" Applejack said to Rose. Rose rubbed her head and ran a hoof across her velvety mane. She churned her purple eyes to the ponies that were staring straight at her.
"Uhm, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. So I uhm heard you guys were talkin' to eachother when you were walking to the arena about some....FireShine you speak of?"
Twilight's face crinkled. "Who are you and what business do you have with it?"
Rose regained her balance and stood up confidentially. "I am Rose, a local rescue Pegasus. It is totally by business because my group is searching for this "FireShine" you're speaking of so please tell me what you mean by that!" Rose stamped her hooves on the ground angrily.
"Woah, calm down. It was only a question," Rainbowdash said.
"Sorry, I have a temper."
"Oh, that's alright silly goose. I'm Pinkie Pie, that's Rainbowdash, that's Twilight, that's Fluttershy, and that's Applejack!"
Rose smiled nervously. "You're pretty energetic, aren't ya."
Pinkie Pie smiled innocently. "Yup!"
"Oh, well in that case, um. Princess Celestia secretly had an adopted daughter all these years named FireShine. Princess Celestia was unsure of her power but she knew she could be a threat to others so she kept FireShine locked away in the castle her whole life. I, uhm, may have, accidentally let her out cause I felt bad her. I didn't mean to, but it's just she seemed so innocent and that she didn't deserve what had happened to her," Twilight said.
Rose scratched her chin in interest. "Have you seen her since then?"
Twilight shook her head. "That was the last I saw her, but I can guarantee you that was FireShine who set the barn on fire and the plaza on fire."
"But we've been searching for her as well," Fluttershy added quietly.
"Oh, yes, that is true, we have", Rarity also added.
Rose sighed. "Well I guess if any of us had any signs we should all report to each other?"
"Yeah," Applejack said. "That'd be great."
The 7 ponies chatted and headed toward the arena all together in a group. If only they knew they were being followed...
