Chapter 1: Hard Landing
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" screamed Chrysalis while flying in the air. Then a flash of light appeared in front of Chrysalis and then the world around her faded to white. She felt that she was being torn apart. Then Chrysalis blacked out.
"Uuuuuuggggggggg." she moaned, while rolling over and getting on her hoofs. Chrysalis notice that she was on a field of dry grass. As she stood up she heard a sound. SNAP! Chrysalis turned around and saw nothing in the woods. She sniffed the air for any emotion. Curiosity? She thought, as she sniffed the air again. Out of the woods came something that Chrysalis never saw before. Its snout and legs were thin and long and had two weird looking horns upon its head. The horns were yellowish white and appeared like thick branches with dull point at the ends. The creature and Chrysalis stared curiously at each other for a time. When Chrysalis stepped back it tilted its head to the right. She slowly stepped back again and was ready to make a run for it . Then came to stand next to it, an identical smaller version of the creature. Unlike the big one the only differences that the little one had was it had no horns on its head and it also had white spots on its back. The big one stepped in front of the little one and gave a look of anger. Then Chrysalis heard a sound like thunder. She flinched at the sound. The two pony things ran into the woods like their lives were depended on it.
Chrysalis looked up and saw no clouds. "What could make such a noise? A Dragon?..no...A Manticore?...no...An Ursa? no...A Timberwolf?...no." muttered Chrysalis. She then began to smell a breeze of excitement and joy. Soon she realized that she was starving. Chrysalis could smell it. It was near. Very near. She could smell three. "So much joy. So much food." she muttered. She licked her lips and followed the scent of joy. It lead her into the woods. After a few minutes of trotting she came to a clearing in the woods and she saw three figures in the distance. The figures stood on two legs. "Minotaurs?" thought Chrysalis. But she notice that these figures were slimmer than Minotaurs. She also noticed that the figures were wearing clothes. The vests that they wear were a bright greenish yellow and had two reflective white stripes. They also wore dark blue pants, black boots, and long sleeve shirts. One of them were wearing a white and orange cap. The other two held weird metal wooden things. They were talking to each other. The one with the cap patted another on the back and he was giving off the most emotion. Chrysalis licked her lips. She was ready to feed. But then she saw two of them pick up one of those pony things.
"That was one good shot there Jacob."said the one with the hat.
"I know dad." responded Jacob.
"Ya I never thought that you would get such a good shot...Ever."
Jacob looked at his brother Josef and said, "Thank you for being so confident in me for killing a deer."
Jacob's dad added, "Josef be nice to your brother and besides it is a good day and lets keep it that way."
"Yes dad." said Jacob and Josef.
"Good. Then we all can go and have and some dinner." their dad said.
They walked away from Chrysalis carrying the deer together. As she decided to follow them she stepped in a pile of leaves and then SNAP."AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" cried Chrysalis in pan as her front right hoof was caught in a contraption that had metal teeth that were stuck in her flesh.
"Did you hear that?" said Jacob.
"Ya I did." Josef responded.
"It could be someone being attacked." their dad said.
They all nodded in agreement together as they dropped the dead deer and headed towards the scream. Jacob ran towards a big bush and fond a black unicorn in pain. It had a dark blue mane, green eyes, and blue bug like wings. Its hoofs had holes in them, and with a smooth greenish blue shell on her back.
"Daaaaaad!" called out Jacob.
"What. Did you find something." his dad called back.
"You need see it for yourself." Jacob said.
Soon Dad and Josef found Jacob and then they saw Chrysalis.
"W-what the hell is that!" said Josef. Dad was wide eyed and mumbling to himself.
Chrysalis was helpless. Her life was in these killing creature's hands. She did not like them and her situation one bit. Jacob knelt down and said in a hushed voice. "It's going to be all right." Chrysalis flinched at these words. He slowly grabbed the bear trap and gently pried it open. As Jacob pried it open Chrysalis closed her eyes hard and ground her teeth in pain. When Chrysalis's hoof was finally free from the bear trap's teeth, she opened her eyes and held her hoof to her chest and began to back away. She was dripping green blood. After three steps Chrysalis felt dizzy and everything around her began to fade to black.
