Conversion Bureau: A day in a life.

Prologue: Hand meets Hoof (edited)

Twilight paid careful attention to her notes. One mess up and things would go wrong.

She was working as hard as ever in the basement's laboratory in Golden Oaks library, for today was the day. The day where all of her hard work and intellect that spanned over ten years of study would come to play in performing the most rigorous spell there was.

Finally, she slammed her book shut and took a deep breath. Now was the moment of truth.

Twilight closed her eyes and concentrated.

Her eyes glowed as magic built up and up until-

"HEY TWILIGHT!"

"AH!" squealed the unicorn.

Twilight tripped on the laboratory floor, her eyes swirling about until she shook herself back into position.

The unicorn looked up and saw who interrupted her. It was, of course, her dear friend Pinkie Pie. Right behind her were the rest of Twilight's friends. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy

"Wow, you should have seen the look on your face." snickered Rainbow Dash. "You were all like 'AAAA help me'!"

Twilight got to her hooves and shook her heads. She couldn't stay mad at her friends, but it didn't change the fact that what they did was rather rude.

"Girls, I know you're my friends and all, but you can't just trespass into my home without permission."  scolded Twilight.

"We didn't trespass silly." giggled Pinkie Pie.

"Yeah, first we knocked, then Spike opened the door and he said we could come in." added Applejack.

"I for one, was all for waiting until you finished your experiments." defended Rarity. "But Pinkie ceased to listen half way through my suggestion."

The pink mare simply smiled.

"I hope we weren't interrupting you from something important." whispered Fluttershy.

"I hate to break it to you all, but I was kind of in the middle of completing a spell that I've been researching and working on for years." said Twilight.

Rainbow Dash blushed. "Oh, sorry about that."

"It's okay, I think I can replicate it soon anyway." assured Twilight.

"What spell were ya working on?" chirped Applejack. "Sounds mighty important."

Twilight smiled wide. "Something I would like to call the Trans Dimensional Travel spell!"

"The trans-what spell?" frowned Pinkie Pie.

"You know, dimensions." remarked Twilight. "You all know we live in a universe right?"

Everypony nodded.

"Well, just like how there are different planets and countries, we have different universes as well. The sum of all universes is called the multiverse."

"So what you're trying to do is travel to another place? Don't you have teleportation for that?" pointed Rarity.

"Traveling between universes if far more than simply going to one place from another." replied Twilight. "Another universe is essentially ours, but a split has been made within the timeline to separate the two. It's like going to another version of Equestria."

"You mean like an Equestria where we're all colts?" whispered Fluttershy.

"Exactly!" cheered Twilight. "Or one where it was Celestia that turned evil instead of Luna or one where we never met!"

"That last one is a scary thought." cringed Pinkie Pie. She was so close to her friends that being without them sent chills down her spine.

Rainbow Dash formed an unpleasant look. "So let me get this straight. You were trying to travel between universes, AND YOU DIDN'T INVITE US?"

Twilight formed a sheepish look. "Oh, sorry about that. But now that you're all here, I think my experiment is going to have a higher chance of succeeding."

"How so? Not all of us are nearly as good at magic as you are." responded Rarity.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of the hard parts." smirked Twilight. "The only reason why the trans dimensional spell hasn't functioned in the past is because none of its performers could summon enough magic to open a rip in time and space. But with the elements of harmony, I'm sure we'll have enough times ten!"

The ponies listened intently to Twilights plan.

-

The six mares found themselves wielding the famed elements of harmony. Twilight had positioned them in a way where the energy that came from the necklaces of Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie.

"Okay, when the elements of harmony activate, I'll cast the dimension spell, and all of your powers will transfer directly to me in order to amplify the amount of magic I need to open a portal."

"We're right behind you Twilight!" assured Applejack.

The others gave remarks of encouragement.

Twilight nodded in turn and closed her eyes to focus.

She slowly tapped into the magic in her horn and activated her element.

As her crown glowed, the other elements sprang to life as well.

"Oh boy, I can't wait to see a universe where everything is made of chocolate!" squealed Pinkie Pie as her necklace turned on.

Twilight levitate as the crown started to function and the other elements found themselves suspended off the ground as well.

Suddenly, a rainbow of energy appeared from the necklaces and bridged straight to Twilight's crown.

Right as the peak of her friend's magic concentrated towards her, Twilight shot open her glowing white eyes and felt more powerful than ever.

The purple unicorn was drawing more energy from the elements than she normally would. She was not going to risk failing the spell at any costs, even if the room was starting to shake from overload.

With the vast quantity of magic at her disposal, Twilight cast the dimension spell.

The crown amplified Twilight's magic to extreme levels in order for the spell to be cast and released it all in a violent roar.

What was a rainbow of light turned into a violent purple beam of electric sparks which amassed itself in the center of the room.

Soon, the elements were spinning out of control to the point where they finally shattered.

While the noise of the forming portal could have been heard throughout the library and the surrounding areas, the sound of the disintegrating elements pierced the bearer's bodies with terror.

As soon as the elements broke and were nothing but dust, the Mane 6 were violently hurled towards the floor.

Despite the major and distracting portal being formed in the center of the lab that was literally ripping time and space, the Mane 6 were in a greater shock over the destruction of their elements.

Twilight stared at the fragments that her once her crown while breathing heavily. "I can't believe it! The Elements. They're actually gone!"

"That spell must have required more magic than expected." guessed Rarity.

"Speaking of the spell!" pointed Applejack.

The portal formation was essentially a miniature lighting storm. Purple shocks were flying around its position and the sound of thunder littered the room.

Spike heard the noise and crept down the stairs.

"Twilight! What's happening?" cried the dragon.

The purple mare turned around and faced her assistant.

"Spike! There's no time to explain! I need you to send a letter to the princesses urgently. Tell them to come here as fast as possible. I think we're in for something big!"

Spike gulped and nodded. He ran to the top of the library and began to write.

-

In five short minutes Celestia and Luna materialized in the room.

Right before the two of them could say a word, they heard the sound of a hundred lighting bolts.

"Sister, what is that commotion?" shrieked Luna.

"I do not know. All I am aware of is that Twilight needs us. Based on the sounds of this noise it can't be good." replied Celestia as she made her way to the source of the racket.

The sisters made their way down the library and readied their horns for whatever approached them. No one was going to harm their subjects on their watch.

The two prepared themselves for anything that would come at them.

As they got into the view of the lab however, they found a sight they did not expect.

They saw the six element bearers, each of them with a pile of dusted gold underneath them. But what caught their gaze was the giant concentrated electric storm in the center of the ponies.

"Twilight!" cried Celestia.

Twilight turned around and found her mentor staring at her. She quickly trotted towards the regal alicorn sisters and bowed before them in respect.

"No need to be formal Twilight." said Celestia wearily.

"Glad to see you're all alright, that letter sounded urgent." added Luna.

"It is!" gulped Rainbow Dash as she pointed towards the beta portal.

"What in the name of Equestria is that?" gasped Celestia.

Pinkie Pie cleared her mouth while rubbing her mane. "Well you see, we were trying to cast this dimensional spell thingy and it sort of worked."

Luna's mouth dropped. "The trans dimension spell? My word, to cast a spell would require sums of magic not even the two of us can produce. I didn't even expect you of all ponies to be capable of such a feet."

"Well, I wasn't." flexed Twilight. "So we used the elements of harmony to amplify the spell, but we took more energy then expected. As a result, the elements...."

Twilight found herself unable to speak.

Suddenly, Luna and Celestia knew what those golden fragments were.

"They shattered, did they not?" sighed Celestia glumly.

Twilight bowed her head in shame. "I'm so sorry princess. I just wanted to get this spell cast and-"

"Everypony look!" exclaimed Fluttershy.

The eight ponies in the room (Spike had head outside for safety) shifted their focus to the forming portal. Rather than being a scattered swarm of electric sparks, it had now shaped itself to a circular gateway, getting less and less distorted as time went on.

Rarity pressed her ear towards the portal. "My word, I can hear voices coming from the other side!"

"And from the sound of it, I think whatever's on the other side is speaking Equestrian as well." theorized Celestia. "Although it is a bit distorted."

The images and sounds were getting clearer.

"Parallel universe, here I come!" cheered Pinkie Pie.

Belgium, 2036.

In the city of Brussels lied the House of Humanity, the official 'capital' of the human race and the concentration of power for Earth's new one world order, the United Terran Federation.

In a room, sat the United Terran Federation's very first president, and by extension the representative of humanity, Peter Schmidt. The former head of Denmark's Social Democratic party was busy in the conference room discussing important matters with the Secretaries of the Economy, Transport, Industry and Space Exploration.

A few Federation Soldiers were keeping guard as well. They wore an intimidating set of black and red armor that barred the hammer-sickle logo of the Federation on their chest piece. The most noticeable thing about them however, were their glowing and scare-inducing gas masks.

A few years ago, the devastating war that was World War III concluded. Hundreds of millions were dead and quite a few countries were wiped off the face of Earth. Emerging from the war, a labour coalition had managed to secure strategic political positions across the globe after the war ended and were thus unopposed when they created their dream of a new world order.

While the first priority of this new government was to restore Earth to its former glory, the question of space exploration had risen.

It was more than clear that the planet wasn't going to support the growing human population for a prolonged period of time, but the human race was not about to go down like this.

The President was doing all he could to save humanity and elevate them to a space faring race, but it was still a daunting task. True, he was on the way to lifting many out of poverty and restoring the destroyed ecosystems of Earth, but there was still much to do.

President Schmidt shifted focus back to the conversation.

"I am telling you now." sighed the Secretary of the Economy. "The plan for space colonization is admirable, but is far too costly for the time being."

"We need to get people off of Earth and on to other planets if we're going to avoid overpopulation." countered the Secretary of the Transportation.

"To do so would mean having to raise taxes on the people for funding, and we're already at a minimum of 60% tax income." replied the SOE.

"I believe that we could avoid such a move while still being able to fund for the program if we nationalize certain industries and extract their profits towards our Space Colonization budget." proposed the Secretary of Industry.

"I think funding should be the least of our concerns." said the President. "Right now, Earth is in a state of recovery and I for one know that the human race is willing to do anything to get us back on our feet. All we need to do is cooperate and not loose faith in ourselves."

"Mr. President, my department has come to the conclusion that colonizing the moon is too risky that would cause negative effects for the people of Earth, may I suggest we shift attention to colonizing Mars instead?" suggested the Secretary of Space Colonization. "We have researched into terraforming technology. If the department of Industry is willing to support us, we could be well on our way to shaping Mars as a second Earth."

"Whatever is best." smiled the President.

Right before the politicians could say anything else, the sound of lighting got the jump on them.

"Good grief, that must be one strong storm outside." muttered the SOE.

"That didn't come from outside." gulped the SOSC.

The five politicians turned to the side and were caught off guard by concentrated purple electric sparks flickering around in the center of the room.

Out of curiosity or foolishness, the five did not flee, but rather stared at the sight before them.

The three Federation guards sprang to action and ran in front the politicians. The soldiers drew their weapons and pointed it directly at the anomaly before them.

"You need to get out of here!" called out a guard.

The politicians did not move, as they were too mesmerized by the sight before them.

A moment later, the purple energy shaped itself into a disk with a glowing white center.

The President muttered something in Danish before speaking. "Is it just me, or does that look like a portal to another dimension?"

"You're right. Looks like something I would see from a science fiction film." nodded the SOI.

"Whatever it is, it can't be can't a good thing." threatened a Federation guard.

"Calm yourselves everyone. What proof do we have that whatever lies before us is evil?" shook President Schmidt.

The SOI placed her hand on the president. "If there is other life, get ready to represent our race."

"Call for backup now!" roared a Federation guard, his voice distorted by his gas mask.

"My communication device is jammed." gritted another guard.

"Same here!" said the other.

The portal was becoming clearer, it was not longer showing a plain white view.

"Brace yourselves! Who knows what kind of disgusting and horrible Eldritch Abomination could lie behind that thing!" warned the SOE.

The guards tightened the grip on their weapons as the portal got clear and clearer.

The president took a deep breath and spoke to himself in Danish. 'Come now, this is what representing humanity will mean if we are to join the other races in the stars.'

The portal finally became transparent and revealed the Equine beings on the other side.

"MY GOD, THEY'RE HIDEOUS!"

The SOT found herself cradling the nervous SOE. She rolled her eyes and dropped him.

After a moment's inspection, the bewildered guards slowly dropped their weapons at the sight of the non-intimidating and clearly confused creatures.

-

Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends found herself staring at the strangest beings they had ever seen.

The ponies observed eight figures, each one of them bi-pedal with fingers and feet. Almost like an ape, but more upright. They appeared to be relatively hairless, save for a few short manes.

The aliens were all around Celestia's hight. Some slightly taller, while the others a bit shorter.

Out of the eight, five wore suits while the others were clad in the most disturbing black and red armor the ponies had seen. Said beings in armor wore an obscuring gas mask and clenched an odd weapon (likely a firearm) with their fingers.

The ones that wore suits had more distinct features. Two of them appeared to be female, while the rest were likely male.

One of these beings, who looked like he was in his mid thirties, formed a smile and approached the ponies.

-

Schmidt crossed his arms and whistled. "Well isn't this jolly? Seems the strange alien life comes in the form of small and adorable technicolor horses with horns and wings."

The ponies dropped their mouths. Schmidt noticed the confused look.

"My goodness! You really can talk after all!" squeaked Fluttershy across the portal.

Now it was the humans' turn to be confused. Even the soldiers had shocked expressions under their armor.

The President was at a loss for words. "But. I. Uh. Of course I can speak English! I'm the one who should be surprised at you."

The other humans began to mummer amongst themselves at the strange sight.

"Allow me to introduce myself." smiled Celestia. The humans were comforted by her motherly voice. "I am princess Celestia, alicorn of the sun and one of the co rulers of Equestria."

"And I am Princess Luna. Alicorn of the night." said the blue mare.

"Luna?" repeated the SOSC. "The name of our moon is Luna." She blushed in return.

Celestia explained the situation. "I am sorry for the interruption, but my student Twilight Sparkle was experimenting with a spell, and she ripped open a portal that lead to another dimension. Said portal must have lead to yours?"

Schmidt cleared his throat. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am President Peter Schmidt, former head of the Danish Social Democratic Party and the first President of the United Terran Federation, thereby making me the first official representative of humanity."

The other humans smirked at his sudden confidence.

"Congratulations on your position Mister President." smiled Celestia.

"It's an honor to be meeting you." greeted Luna.

"Likewise. It's a good thing you met us when we unified." replied the President. He extended his arm to the opening of the portal.

The ponies glanced awkwardly at the body part.

The President frowned. "Well, aren't you going to shake my hand?" He hoped he wasn't making an insulting gesture.

"Oh." realized Celestia. She and her sister were used to bows. "Of course."

Celestia extended her left fore hoof. It was going to be like shaking someone at the other side of a doorway.

There was a pause however, as the fingered hand and digit less hooves stood inches apart from each other in an awkward manner.

The President flexed his fingers. "Um, how exactly are we going to shake anyway?"

Celestia glanced at her non fingered fore hoof. "I don't know. Just adjust it for a second and-"

The two fumbled around with their hand and fore hoof respectively.

"Hold on."

"I got it."

"Just wrap it around."

"Almost there."

"Here we go!"

The President wrapped his fingers around Celestia's fore hoof and proceeded to it shake up and down.

He then turned to Luna where he did the same after a tedious moment of adjustment.

Luna looked at her newly shaken hoof. "Your fingers provided quite an interesting sensation."

Schmidt nodded. "Now that we got that over with, let me just say that it's an honor to meet you. Although I wish I knew I was going to be meeting alien ponies earlier. I would have prepared a speech and put on my good suit."

The ponies laughed while the humans merely chuckled.

"Oh don't worry darling. You look dashing in your suit!" complimented Rarity. "I must say, your bi-pedal form complements the design of the garment quite seamlessly."

President Schmidt gave a friendly shrug. "Well, it's not like you ponies wear clothes or anything.....right?"

-

For the next half hour or so, the eight humans conversed with the eight ponies on the other side of the portal about their situation, going a little bit into the detail of their customs and biology all the while. Although it would have been best for the politicians to get others into the room to witness the groundbreaking discovery, they were too distracted by the situation.

The humans were astounded by the information that came from the alternate reality. A massive sum of creatures and concepts that were myths in their world were fact in the ponies' universe. They were equally stupefied by the presence of magic in the other universe.

Likewise, the ponies themselves were mesmerized by some of the feats the humans had mentioned. The fact that they had endured for so long without any form of supernatural power was uncanny.

"Still, I'm sorry for your loss." sighed the Secretary of Industry. "Those elements of harmony sounded awfully important to you all."

"They were, but I have faith we can cope." said Twilight.

"But why are you so sorry for our loss? YOU just got out of a third world war for crying out loud!" yelled Rainbow Dash.

"True. It was rather horrifying to say the least." muttered the SOE. "I mean, a lot of nations don't exist anymore and lots of people are dead. I am not going into specifics."

"I'm sorry for your loss." whispered Fluttershy.

"It's alright." assured the President. "The important thing is that we're rebuilding and recovering. We can't let a single disaster get the better of us."

"I envy your race to an extent." admitted Celestia. "I don't know how ponies could get past such a travesty. We would have lost all hope."

"We didn't make it this far to quit. One thing humans are good at is adaptation and I'm sure you ponies are strong enough to do the same. You all have magic after all." stated the SOSC.

"T'is true." replied Luna. "But you humans are researching into space colonization, that's impressive!"

"Well, we would like to." implied the SOT. "But it's looking like a possibility now."

The Secretary of Space Colonization began to walk towards the portal. "You know, your presence leads to the possibility of an infinite multiverse where events have-"

While speaking, the SOSC passed through the portal and onto the side of Equestria.

"-played out separately or have not even-"

Suddenly, the SOSC began to choke.

The ponies and humans glanced nervously at him. The SOSC found it impossible to breath even though oxygen was coming into his lungs.

The President's mouth dropped. "Vincent, are you alright?"

"AIR IS TOXIC!" replied the SOSC as he fell to the ground.

Celestia knew she had to send him back to his side. The alicorn created a telekinetic grip around the SOSC where he was suddenly lifted.

Unfortunately, that worsened his condition.

"IT BURNS!" cried the SOSC as he was encompassed in Celestia's telekinesis. He felt like someone was stabbing him with a trillion hot irons.

Celestia gave a yelp and threw the SOSC across the portal and back to his universe in a hastily without even thinking.

The momentum sent the SOSC flying a few feet forward. The other seven humans ran towards him.

The soldier bent down and checked his pulse. "He'll live. My Heads Up Display says he's just a little shaken."

Likewise, the SOSC got up.

"Snyder, are you alright?" asked the President as a concerned individual.

The Secretary got up. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."

"What was that about?" questioned Rainbow Dash.

"You said the air was toxic." remembered Rarity. "Could you not breathe when you stepped through the portal?"

"Not really." muttered the SOSC. "There was Oxygen alright, but something just didn't feel right. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe allergies. Can't really tell why I it got worse when Celestia used magic on me."

"I don't understand either. I wasn't using offensive magic." swore the white Alicorn.

"Allergies! Smallergies! Come on everypony!" smiled Pinkie Pie. "There's a whole universe out there! Let's go!"

Pinkie Pie bounced through the portal onto the human side.

After a little skip forward, the pink Earth Pony suddenly froze in place. Then Pinkie Pie's smile faded her hair straightened.

She collapsed to the ground with her tongue out, as if she was gagging on something.

"PINKIE PIE!" yelled Fluttershy.

Thinking quickly, a UTF trooper sprang to action and picked up the chocking mare. He quickly tossed her across the portal and back to her side.

Thankfully, Pinkie Pie got up and was only mildly dizzy.

"Okay, that happened." remarked Applejack.

"What on Equestria is going on here? There should be no reason for us not to be able to breath on the same world even if it is a different timeline." whined Rarity.

"Actually, I was breathing perfectly. It was something else that gave me the doozies." replied Pinkie Pie.

A UTF guard had an epiphany. "Wait a minute, I'm gonna try something."

Everyone was looking at the trooper who lowered his carbine.

The soldier calibrated his gas mask to make sure that it was working perfectly. Sure enough, the eye pieces glowed red which symbolized functionality.

The soldier slowly crept towards the portal, much to the discomfort of the ponies. His black and red armor gave him quite an intimidating appearance.

He stepped through the portal and onto the Equestrian side. The ponies could hear his breathing easily.

For a while, the soldier stood in place and nothing happened.

He crossed his arms. "I can breathe just fine sir." The ponies and humans gave a sigh of relief.

The president placed a finger on his lips. "Turn off your gas mask."

The soldier frowned under his helmet. "Are you sure sir?"

"Even if you start chocking, I know for a fact that you pass back through the portal in an instant." encouraged the President. "We just need to make sure."

The guard hesitated before nodding. He slowly reached for his gas mask and tapped the power button-

-and struggled to breath.

Right before it got serious, the soldier limped towards the portal and back to his side. He shook his head and took a moment to relax.

"I see." spoke up Twilight. "There must be some sort of substance that is present in our universe that doesn't exist on the other side which prevents us from being able to enter."

Twilight crept to the portal. "As evidenced by the soldier's attempt, a simple air filtration spell should allow me to breath normally."

The purple mare's horn glowed and a lavender aura surrounded her. The humans were rather impressed with this feat.

Twilight hopped through the portal and onto the human side.

Right when things finally looked good, her horn shut off.

All of a sudden, Twilight found herself unable to draw magic from the atmosphere which cut off her ability to cast her breathing spell.

Twilight struggled for magic, and soon found her self struggling for life. Luckily, the SOI picked up Twilight and gently carried her over back to her side.

Fluttershy gasped and looked down at her friend. "Are you okay?"

Twilight recovered and coughed. "I'm fine." she faced the SOI. "Thanks."

"No problem." replied the SOI.

"I don't understand, how did your horn just shut off like that?" questioned Rainbow Dash.

"Surely there would be plenty of magic for you to absorb." insisted Luna.

"Magic?" frowned the President. "I hate to break it to you ponies, but there isn't any magic in this particular universe. Here, it's only a myth."

Suddenly the ponies formed dumbfounded looks.

"Well of course! That explains everything." exclaimed Applejack.

"Elaborate." frowned the SOE.

"You see, all ponies need magic in order to survive." explained Celestia. "We draw the magic around us either consciously or unconsciously and being separated from it harms us. Since it was established that our universe is filled with such a substance by default, we thought it wouldn't be much of an issue."

"But this universe has no such thing." replied the SOSC. "And my theory is that magic in turn harms those who are not used to it. So when a human enters the other side, they get overwhelmed as well."

Pinkie Pie formed a teary expression. "Does this mean we can't go to the other universe?"

"I'm afraid so Pinkie." sighed Luna.

The President thought it through. A light bulb went off in his head. He turned to face the SOE.

"Mr. Harper, what's our status in terms of jobs in the border control sector?"

"Ever since we formed the New World Order, we had to lay off everyone working in checkpoint control and travel agencies. And we had to get rid of numerous embassies as well." said the SOE.

"Tell them we'll need them back pretty soon." smirked President Schmidt.

"Am I missing anything?" asked Celestia.

"Let's just say I have a way of letting us ponies and humans pass through safely." grinned the President. "But I'm going to need the cooperation of both humans and ponies for this."

"How? Are you going to create a gas mask factory or something?" muttered the SOI.

"Even better!" cheered the President. "I have an idea that would create even more jobs and advance science further for the heck of it!"

The President started to laugh out loud.

Luna knitted her eyebrows. "Does he always do that?"

"Only when has a good idea." muttered a trooper.

-

One month later.

Warsaw, Poland

"Hello again and welcome to FedNews! I am your host reporting live in Poland and I am excited to report that the Conversion Bureaus have finally been completed!"

Citizens of the UTF were lining up eagerly inside the facility to catch a glimpse of the marvelous breakthrough. Ponies on the other side did the same.

As part of a the President's genius idea, structures called Conversion Bureaus were created that would allow ponies and humans to travel to the opposite universes.

It was simple. Ponies could live on Equestria. Humans could live on Earth. So in order change dimensions, you would have to change your species as well.

The bureau was a major square shaped structure with an art deco design. The interior was much like an airport with passport control and a booking zone. There were 'terminals' as well, which although looked like they lead to a dead end, actually led to a transformation zone and then to the portal that led to Equestria.

Troopers were stationed all around the facility, in the event of a possible terrorist attack.

On the screens hung against the walls, the humans had a glimpse of what was going on in the Equestrian Universe. Sure enough the ponies were staring right back at the humans with glee. Both sides desperately wanted to cross over.

"I am here today with Doctor Samuel Carson, one of the main directors of the Conversion Bureau project. Doctor, good to meet you."

Carson nodded and shook the reporter's hand. "Likewise."

"I see that this is a major breakthrough in human innovation?"

"It certainly is. We have advanced the definition of creativity with these bureaus and trans-dimensional portals. Thanks to input from both human scientists and pony mages, we've been able to create various barriers across the planet. The Conversion Bureaus in these locations will be opened once we are certain that this one prove operable."

"And where will the rest of the Bureaus be?"

"Right now we have one here Poland and will open more in Tokyo, Wellington, New Vegas, Oman, Paris, and Toronto. We had to be rather careful with opening portals however. The multiverese works in strange ways and some portals were leading to oceans or other barren areas."

"Could you please share with the audience on how you managed to get these bureaus to work?"

Suddenly, Carson found himself looking dumbfounded. "I....don't know. The ponies said the bureaus work by magic."

-

"So Twilight, can you please tell us how the bureaus work?"

"I....don't know. The humans said it works by science."

-

"So in a few minutes, will we witness the first conversions of a pony turning into a human and vice versa?"

"The first public demonstration." insisted Carson. "We've done previous tests before. Once the opening ceremony is over, an Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorn will cross dimensions and so will two humans."

"And to be clear, 'Terran' ponies will not have a cutie mark or special abilities. Is that correct? And will ponies crossing through loose their magical abilities as well?"

"Afraid so. However, we've designed the bureaus to allow humans and ponies to choose the type of body they want to convert into." said Carson. "Otherwise, all Terran Ponies would just have brownish coats and dull hair colors. The conversion process also alters one's state of processing motion in order to make the transition between species far more seamless."

Suddenly, the music in the background died down.

"Ladies and gentleman, the opening ceremonies are now over. We have word that the three ponies are going to pass through the portal and turn into humans!"

On the other side of the terminal, an Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorn were clearly visible. Said ponies looked slightly nervous however.

After mustering up his courage, the Earth Pony named Dr. Hooves past through the barrier and went through the conversion process.

A tense moment of waiting flew by, and the terminal opened to reveal a pony-turned-man. Luckily, the Bureau had managed to provide the stallion with clothes before converting.

Dr. Hooves squealed with delight upon looking at his new form.

He skipped to the crowd, who for some reason stopped taking pictures.

"Hello everyone!" cheered the convert. "It's great to be meeting you all in this lovely new body!"

There was no response from the crowd.

The former stallion frowned. "Anyone home?"

"....."

"DAVID TENNANT?" yelled the crowd.

Dr. Hooves knitted his eyes. "Who?"

"Exactly." said an aging actor. "You look just like a younger version of me."

Tennant proceeded to hand the now-human Dr. Hooves a picture of his Dr. Who days.

Dr. Hooves nodded. "Oh. I can see the resemblance."

The crowd's attention was then turned to another pony convert.

The bubbly girl with blond hair skipped to the crowd while admiring her new figure. She work a gray collar t-shirt with short blue jeans.

"Wow, this is awesome! I don't even care that I lost my wings!"

The converted pegasus faced the onlooking humans. "So, what do you all think?"

The crowd was silent once more.

"She has crossed eyes!" yelled a little boy.

"I had crossed eyes as a pony silly!" laughed Derpy.

"And the fact the converter kept them only proves of its effectiveness!" insisted Dr. Hooves.

"......."

"YEAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" cheered the crowd.

The final convert, a unicorn by the name of Vinyl Scratch passed through the converter room. She wore typical DJ gear with purple shorts, gloves and white t-shirt with a music note logo.

The humans expressed awe at Vinyl Scratch's human form, especially her natural blue hair.

Vinyl at looked herself through a nearby mirror and flexed her purple glasses. "I gotta say, this human form isn't half bad at all."

Vinyl, Hooves and Derpy stood together as the media began to take pictures of them. On the TV screen, one could see the ponies witnessing the event with great pleasure.

It was clear that the ponies could turn into humans without harm. But what about the other way around?

In Fillydelphia, a Bureau was set up with the corresponding portal. Ponies were eagerly awaiting the first human arrivals.

Pinkie Pie suddenly got excited. She had just seen a human enter the Bureau on a TV screen.

"Look! I think the one of the humans are coming!"

The ponies suddenly quieted down as they heard the noise of the terminals opening. The gates revealed a pile of human clothes with something struggling underneath them. Out of them came a startled stallion.

The stallion had a pale yellow coat and a crimson red mane, while his human counterpart was blond. His eyes were also blue in his human form, but were green in pony form.

A twenty year old man by the name of Abraham Davis had just signed up to be the first public example of human to pony conversion. He felt like he had just made history.

After crawling out of his clothes that no longer fit him, the convert looked around the ponies that were staring right at him with utter awe and excitement.

He moved towards the ponies, noticing that he was walking on fours.

"Man, moving like a quadruped feels so natural."

He suddenly felt his tail.

"And I have a tail! How awesome is that?"

Abe smiled sheepishly at the ponies who were applauding him in return.

"So, how do I look?" asked Abe.

Rarity's voice stood out from the crowd. "You just look fabulous darling! I love the colors you chose for your mane and coat. They compliment each other so well!"

Somehow, Abe heard the white unicorn's voice from the crowd.

Then there was yet another sound of the terminal door opening. Inside revealed a pile of clothes that clearly belong to a women. From them crawled a mare with a blue coat and white mane.

The convert, named Hillary Abbot, didn't move towards the crowd, but kept staring at her hooves.

"I see somepony is enjoying her new form." chuckled Abe.

"Enjoying? More like LOVING!" smiled Hillary.

She crawled to her fours and trotted towards the excited crowd of ponies, contained only by a red velvet rope.

"Wow, I haven't crawled on all fours since I was toddler." giggled Hillary.

"PICTURES PLEASE!" called out a pony photographer by the name of Photo Finish.

The two converts stood together as their pictures were being taken.

A news reporter crawled towards the pair.

"So, how does it feel to be converted?"

"Hungry." replied Abe. "I have the sudden urge for a daisy sandwich."

The ponies around the room laughed with glee.

Suddenly, there was a buzzer that interrupted the commotion. The sound  that came out from the announcer was a smooth and calm female voice.

"Your attention please. We will now be accepting reservations for trans dimensional travel. Please calmly redirect yourself to the booking room to arrange your leave time, return time, hotel reservations and more for your trip. Thank you and have nice conversion."

The ponies suddenly stampeded to the reservation area, eager to visit Earth.

A mare working as a travel agent gulped as she braced herself.

In exactly three seconds, all booths were suddenly crowded with lines that stretched outside of the facility with enthusiastic ponies wanting to visit the other dimension.

The travel agent sunk to below her seat. "Why me? Oh well, at least it can't be worse than what's happening on Earth."

-

On the other side, a human travel agent checked his tablet for any notifications.

You have 9001 travel requests to authorize.

In a private terminal, President Schmidt stood in place, accompanied by 12 Federation commandos armed with accessorized carbines.

"The princesses will be arriving in a moment." announced a guard.

Schmidt nodded.

A few minutes past, the Terrans heard the terminal door open. For whatever reason, the gas masked commandos tightened the grip on their weapon, ready for anything.

Out of the doors, came two figures, and when the President saw them, his mouth dropped.

Celestia wore a regal white dress that glowed like the sun and had a vibrant skien complexion. She was pretty tall, rivaling Schmidt's hight. Her hair maintained the same colors as her pony form and still waved and glistened. She had a lovely and friendly smile. Her age appeared to be around the President's maybe a bit younger.

Luna was slightly shorter and her skin was slightly darker. Her dress was blue like the night sky and her eyes glowed like stars. Her mane pattern and aura was retained in her human form as well. Her smile was slightly more mischievous, but assuring nonetheless. Her human form looked around a few years younger than Celestia's.

In short, the two were stunning. Their faces, their figures and their curves formed a body that was the literal definition of regal beauty. Schmidt noticed that they still wore their crowns and royal shoes.

"So what do you think Mr. President?" greeted Luna.

President Schmidt stood there with his mouth open. His eyes couldn't help but stare at certain places. He didn't respond until a commando lightly tapped him on the back of his head to bring him back to reality.

The President gulped. "The Bureaus were awfully kind to you."

Celestia gave a sweet laugh. "My, aren't you the charmer?"

The President nervously extended his hand. He squealed like a little boy when the now human Celestia and Luna shook his hand with their soft and smooth touch.

Luna admired her hands. "My, I could certainly get used to these!"

"These Bureaus were a great idea Mr. President." complimented Celestia as she looked at her new form. "Earth is going to have a lot of excited tourists soon."

"S-same f-for Equestria." blurted Schmidt. He couldn't believe he was loosing control of himself. "There is a transport ship waiting to take us back to Belgium."

"Splendid." smiled Celestia.

As if on cue, the princesses turned around and started to walk outside the facility. The President and commandos followed.

Luna took a full look at Schmidt in her new human form and closed in on him.

"You know, I never really got to see you this close, and I certainly wouldn't mind getting diplomatic with you in private."

The President gulped.

"Eeep."
