New faces are a rare treat for the citizens of Ponyville. So when a stranger moves to the not-so-quiet little town, naturally everypony is curious to meet their new neighbor and make him feel welcome; especial Twilight and her friends. However, he is not the only one to take up residence in Ponyville. Something lurks in the darkness, and watches from the forest. Something new…something evil! Something that not even the rulers of Equestria maybe prepared for.

As it moves in closer, everypony is left wondering, "Where did it come from? Is it alone?", and most important of all, "what does it want?" What of this stranger also? How does he fit into all this? Is he simply a victim of fate, or is there a larger part that he plays in all this?

Time is running out. Twilight and her friends must work fast to stop this new breed of evil, before it strikes again.
