Apple bloom was walking towards Carousal Boutique so that she could drag Sweetie Belle with her to Scootaloo’s house. This was obviously another attempt to get their cutie marks and everypony new it too. As Apple Bloom approached the boutique Rainbow Dash was sneaking behind her with Pinkie Pie wanting to prank the Cutie Mark Crusaders. “Ah wonder what mah cutie mark will look like.” Apple Bloom shouted out loud for everypony in Ponyville to hear. This caused Dash and Pinkie Pie to snicker quietly as the thought of their greatest prank yet. Apple Bloom knocked on the door, and Sweetie Belle opened it quietly and delicately. “What’s wrong Sweetie Belle?” Apple Bloom asked loudly.
“Shh…” Sweetie Belle replied quietly and dragged Apple Bloom towards Scootaloo’s house, “Rarity is making a whole new line for Hoity Toity” Sweetie Belle said now loud enough for Scootaloo to hear. Sweetie Belle continued pulling Apple Bloom towards Scootaloo’s house which was only about ten lengths away.
“Let go of me!” Apple Bloom was finally able to yell. As Sweetie Belle let go of Apple Bloom’s mane, Scootaloo opened the door to her house wearing the Cutie Mark Crusaders outfit. “Well ah’ll be, we forgot our outfits Sweetie Belle!” Apple Bloom yelled.
“Holy manure!” Sweetie Belle yelled getting angered looks by the adults in the area for the use of language.
The crusaders started walking towards Fluttershy’s house hoping to get taught about animal care, but Zecora stopped them halfway, “You children seek shyness when I can teach you more then you could ever know…” Zecora said in her weird way of speaking.
Apple Bloom was the only one to volunteer to follow Zecora and was taken to the cottage in Everfree Forest. “Miss Zecora it’s mighty fine a you to teach me, but do you really think this is mah talent?” Apple Bloom asked very nervous.
“Of course young one, your family has dealt with plants, and you shall take your talent to another source entirely.” Zecora answered being mysterious as possible. As the duo arrived inside of the cottage Zecora grabbed herbs from her shelves with her mouth and displayed them onto a wooden table in the corner of the room. “You see young one the art of potion crafting is a dangerous one at best, only the most precise and delicate movements will allow you a good potion.” Zecora started. Throughout the night Zecora explained the different uses of herbs and where to find them.
At midnight Zecora started to help Apple Bloom craft her first potion, a simple potion for curing boils of course. After testing the potion, Zecora’s eyes widened slightly, “Apple Bloom this is one of the best potions I’ve ever seen!” Zecora said her weird way of speaking stopped in the moment of surprise. “I -yawn- am glad” Apple Bloom said as she fell into a deep sleep. “Sleep well young child for I shall be the one to tutor you to becoming a successful brewer” Zecora stated as she laid Apple Bloom down on a bed of hay.
