The Twelve Days

"Big sister, get up!" My drowsy eyelids cracked open wearily and I groaned slightly at the sight of my little sister hanging over my face. "It's twelve days before Christmas!"

"Mnhhhggggggggg..." I blinked and coughed, peeling her off of me and sitting up, cracking my bones and stretching my wings while yawning. "Christmas, eh?"

"Yeah! Remember? You said that, like my favorite Christmas song; Twelve days of Christmas, that you would teach me how to fly before Christmas Eve!" I popped my back and looked her in the eyes. I couldn't break a promise to a kid; that would suck!

"Oh, yeah! I remember...listen, we need to do some chores first, alright kiddo?"

      "Like what?"

"I gotta go help Pinkie with her baking, then I gotta go to Raritys and drop off some cloth I promised her, then we gotta go to Flutters and drop off some food for her rats and things, then we need to go see Twilight and see how her experiment's goin', m'kay?" I watched as her head hung down and nodded. "It won't take as long as it seems, m'kay, squirt?" I saw her brighten up and I ruffled her dark pink mane. "Good, now I want you to go eat something before we go. I think we got some milk that's still good and we got some hot pockets." She nodded and ran off, her little wings fluttering frantically.

I stood and stumbled a bit, coughing and rubbing my eye a bit. "Damn..." I squinted my eyes shut, then opened them again only to see my reflection in the mirror. "What else did we need to do..." The muffled laughs came from outside my window and I knew the shrill, hyperactive voice from anywhere; Pinkie Pie. She was always so excited and was constantly making everyone happy. But this time, she was a bit too happy...

A loud rap on my bedroom door threw me head first into reality and I crouched down and screamed, backing up. "Rainbow Dash, are you in here?" It was Twilight Sparkle. I stood up and crawled to my door, still wide eyes and gulping air. I slung my door open and stared at her purple figure, my body still shaking. "What's wrong?"

"What the hell's wrong with you?"

       "What do you mean?"

"My out scared the fuck out of me..."

"Oh, I'm sorry...and please-" she glared at me. "What did I tell you about cursing..."

"I'm sorry..." I gulped and shrunk down in front of her. I got really scared when she would glare at me.

Her face returned to normal and she smiled at me and said in her pure, sweet voice, "It's alright. Now, who's ready to be a test subject?" Pinkie Pie burst through the door, toppling on top of me and we were catapulted backwards, hitting our heads on the green wall, making one of my framed pictures tilt. I rubbed my head and stripped her off me, finding my hooves and fixing the crooked picture with my muzzle.

I teared up at the sight of it. Pinkie popped up happily beside me and frowned almost suddenly, wiping off my tear. "What's up? Why're you so blue?" She giggled at her own joke, hence my blue coat. Another tear fell to the white carpet and she frowned again, wiping my tear. "Dashie, what's wrong?"

       "This picture..."

"Who is it?" I stared at thefour ponies in the picture. There was the tallest one, hewas buff and had an orange mane and tail with a yellow coat. His eyes twinkled blue and danced under the sun, and his cutie mark was the planets and he was a unicorn. The shorter one next to him was only about the age of Scootaloo and was an earth pony. The had a light green coat and baby pink mane and tail with twinkling pink eyes and two pepper mints for a cutie mark. The other pony looked middle aged, same as the man beside her and she had a red mane and tail and a cookie for a cutie mark with black highlights and she was a pudgy earth pony, and she held a baby. The baby was light blue with little wings and beady, red eyes with a rainbow streaked mane and tail.

"Rainbow Dash, are you okay?" I turned to look at Twilight slowly and I nodded, wiping the tears away hurriedly.

       "Pinkie, those are my parents..."

"Oh...I'm guessing they live in Cloudsdale?" She smiled happily and I looked down.

       "Even farther up..."

       "The palace-"

"Pinkie, they aren't on this earth anymore." I looked at Twilight and was shocked at the look on her face. She looked really upset and she glared at Pinkie. Pinkie looked down and nodded, understanding.

"I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash..." I grinned and threw a leg around her, pulling her into a bro hug and I laughed, ruffling her hot pink, curly mop of a mane. She giggled and pulled me close to her and I smiled more.

"Alright, how about we get on with this spell?" We looked at Twilight and nodded, sitting beside each other. Twilight paced back and forth, reading from a book and her quill scribbling on the paper frantically.

       "Twilight, what's this spell about?"

"Pinkie, I'll tell you later...or you'll find out later..."

--

I was beginning to lull off to sleep when Twilight screamed, "Dammit, fucking bullshit!"

"And she tells me not to cuss," I murmured and rolled my eyes.

"Rainbow Dash, can you do me a favor?"

       "Sure, what's up?"

"I need you to go get McIntosh and Flash."

I groaned and stood, yawning and slapping Pinkie's rump and she shot up from a deep sleep. "You're coming, too." She nodded and stood while following me out the door.

--

Pinkie, Flash, McIntosh and me came through my door again and I smiled, showing Twilight. Flash waved at the purple Alicorn and McIntosh continued to chew on his hay..straw...weed.....thing. Twilight smiled and pushed me to the ground and I let out a loud grunt-scream. "Hey, what the fuck was that for-" I gagged as sudden electricity shot up and down my body. I could feel it coursing through my veins and through my legs, rushing up to my skull only to run back down. I heard Scootaloo cry and scream.

Twilight was telling her to calm down and all I remember hearing was, "Rainbow Dash! No! Leave her alone!" Then everything went black.

--

My eyes creeped open slowly and I blinked a few times, sitting up and grunting. "Damn...Twilight? Pinkie?" I looked around and blinked a bit more. "I know this place...why am I in Twilight's house..."

"Twilight's downstairs making you some food." The beautiful voice coming from the doorway sunk into my heart like melting chocolate. It was graceful and soothing, extremely calming and a touch of sweetness. "It should be ready in a bit."

"Do you know why I'm in her house-"

"Look at me and answer your own question, hon." I turned my head to see a tall, thin pony with a deep red coat with white freckles. She had a long, strawberry blonde, straight, silky mane and tail with a green apple for a cutie mark. Her green eyes shimmered and I didn't want to comment on how beautiful she was when my eyes widened.

       "M-McIntosh? Wh-"

"Look at yourself." She wheeled a mirror in front of me and I almost screamed. All my features had changed and I looked at myself for a while. Then I screamed.

"I'm a fucking boy! What's happening...how the hell did all this happen-"

       "It was Twilight, you know."

       "That damn bastard-"

"You signed up for it, you know." I nodded and wiped the shaggy mess of rainbow bangs from my face.

"I look like fucking young Justin Bieber with this shitty mane..." She giggled and looked at me kindly. My cheeks became hot and I coughed and tried to rub the blush off my cheeks as I closed my eyes.

When I opened them back, her eyes were closed and her lips were only an inch close to mine when a curly haired stallion with handsom features and a light pink body with a hot pink mane and tail leapt into the room and sang out, "Dinner's ready~!" I stared at him and my jaw dropped.

       "P-Pinkie?"

"Dashie? O..M...G! You look so cool! I wasn't too pleased with the way my hair turned out but you actually look good!"

I squinted my eyes and grumbled, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means you look good?" He blew his lone bang from his sky blue eyes and laughed. "Come on, love birds! Twilight got up early to make this for you!" He jumped back out of the room and McIntosh grumbled and climbed off me, trotting out the door.

"Fucking Pinkie, I almost got kissed by a hot girl..." I stood and flapped my wings and as I lifted off the ground, I sped down the stairs and rushed to the table as Twilight out a plate with mashed potatoes, steak, and broccoli in front of me, followed by a glass of apple cider and a salt and pepper shaker. Real food.

"Rainbow Dash, McIntosh, someone wants to see you two..." I spun around quickly to see the pony with the curled, purple mane and tail and white coat ushering two short, little fillies.

Apple Bloom ran to embrace McIntosh in a hug and I got a giant warhug from Scootaloo myself. I smiled and hugged her back as Rarity smiled and teared up, staring at me. Since I was a boy now, I could understand why Spike liked her so much. My glance returned to Scootaloo and I wiped off her tears, smiling. "Kid, I'm alright."

"I was so scared...I stayed with Rarity for those few hours and it felt like forever..."

       "I know..."

       "I missed you so much..."

"I know kid..." I stroked a hoof through her pink mane and she sobbed, pushing her head into my coat and sobbing. I comforted her and rubbed her back, hushing her softly and rocking her. After a few minutes, her crying died and I smiled, pushing her away from me slightly. "You calm now?" She nodded and sniffled. "I want you to eat, m'kay?"

"Okay..." Rarity sat beside me and sat up properly. McIntosh stood up and escorted Apple Bloom to the door.

"You leavin'?" I smiled at the red mare and she turned to me and nodded, smiling.

"I bet Granny Smith's worried..." Twilight ran to her and pulled a cowboy hat over her head and tucking her hair in it, shoving the hay straw thing in her mouth and pinning her tail up so it looked short.

"Nobody can know that you guys are gender bent...except for people I trust..." McIntosh trotted out with Apple Bloom after saying her goodbyes and I smiled as I watched Scootalooeat quickly.

--

"You want anything else, Dash?" I rolled my eyes slightly and leaned back against the couch.

"If I did, I would pop." Twilight and Rarity giggled as I looked over at the white pony who flipped her hair and batted her eyelashes. Damn she was hot. I rubbed Scootaloo's back and smiled down at her. "Ya full, kiddo?" She nodded and curled up next to me. "That's good..." A soft head rested against my shoulder and I looked down at the purple mane draping over my chest. "Yo Rare, ya comfy?" She blushed and shot up, looking down. "It's okay, don't worry." She smiled and looked at me and I looked over at Twilight, watching the envy in her eyes.

I listened to the door swing open, then slam closed and the normal Pinkie ran in the room. "Twilight! Guess what; I'm not the one that's gonna be the boy for the rest of my life-" She hopped and looked at me as Twilight went wide eyes and stared at me.

       "What's wrong..."

"Dash...you're the one that's going to be the boy forever..."

"And you didn't tell me this before!"

"Yes, I damn did!" Then I remembered my memory and listening skills were about as good as a chipmunk's. Rarity's head rested back on my head and she sighed.

"I think I can get used to this..." Her soft voice penetrated my heart and I smiled, wrapping an arm around her and I closed my eyes, blocking out the world.

--

"Hey," I listened to Twilight's voice as my eyes flew open. I was in her bed and she was shaking me awake. I grunted and coughed, stretching my wings. "Remember what you promised Scootaloo?"

"I remember...she'll just have to wait until the morning, I can get her to fly..."

       "Dash-"

       "It's fine, I promise...where is she?"

       "With Spike..."

"I want her awake, right here, right now." Twilight nodded and leapt off the bed, trotting silently through the doorway and I looked at the ceiling, dreading to sit up. But I did anyways, listening to my back crack loudly and I groaned. Then the filly trudged into the room and I smiled. "Hey Scoots..."

"Hi..." I pulled her up on the bed and patted her back.

       "How you doin'?"

       "Good..."

"Can I tell you something important?" She nodded and I held her close. "You're gonna fly. You're gonna be able to, even though yesterday was a bust, alright. I'll do it for you. I know I can." She smiled weakly up at me and I ruffled her mane, lying back in the bed and yawning. "For now, let's get some rest..." She nodded and cuddled up to my chest and I smiled, staring out at the moon.

I lied back, yawned again, then shut my eyes for the next train to Dreamland.
