I walked down the cold, snowy sidewalk. My jacket could barely stop the bone shattering cold that had fallen this November night. The horizon was bitch black. They very same horizon where-as a child-I thought I would find my place in life. Now, I was twenty three, grown ass man, no purpose, shitty job, piece of shit boss, no girl to love. I was headed nowhere.
I looked up at the overbearing chilly clouds dropping snow upon my shoulders, it made me sick to think that this was where I thought I could make my life happen. I hooked a left on the street corner, my eyes in front of me again, and I watched my silent and solemn breath disappear in front of me, like the rest of my life. At last my eyes found what they wanted to see. The all night bar where I spent most of my nights.
When I stepped into the lonely brown shack, I was hit by a blast of welcoming warm air and soft jazz music playing from an old junk stereo, I already pictured the drinks I would be having tonight, ahh. "Hey there Jamey!" Called Sheela to me. She was the bar tender here, and a damn good mixologist.
"Hey Sheela, I need to go piss, then i'll be ready to start drinking." She nodded, and I started across the lumpy, broken, and cracked brown tile floor, to the bathrooms. I grabbed the rusty brass handle, and pushed open the squeaky and battered little brown door, which suffered years of being hit, slammed, and broken by other various drunks. I stepped into, what was possibly the dirtiest bathroom in the united states.
I've been going in it for years, but I was normally drunk off my ass, not I could see it. Soap scum covered the walls, rust on the sinks, the stalls had no doors, and the urinals were just as disgusting. Not to mention the smell to tie it all together. Nevertheless, nature was calling. I stepped across yet another dirty and cracked tile floor to the urinal, and let down my fly. I used the facilities, zipped up, now it was time to get drunk.
I stepped back into the main lobby and jogged over to a bar stool. I plopped my ass in it and rang the bell on the counter. "Whaddya need, Jamey?" Sheela asked.
"Hmm.... start me off with a mind bomb...... I really need to forget today..."
"One mind bomb, coming up." I watched her grab a large mug, and start to pour several different drinks into it, also adding food coloring, and a little salt, she handed me the now glowing blue alcoholic nightmare that was the mind bomb.
"Thanks, Sheela, i'll call if I need anything else."
"Alrighty!" With that word, she went back to cleaning the counter. Maybe the cleanest part of this place.
I sipped at the mind bomb, and even with just that little sip, I could feel light headed, it was a strong drink, that was not to be underestimated. "Alright, Sheela, he's twenty for the drink." I rummaged through my pockets for my wallet, and grasped on to the leather folder for money in my left back pocket. I removed the twenty hand handed it to her, then took a bigger swig of the mind bomb.
I could feel my body temperature rising, The alcohol was making its way into my blood now, and heating me up. Now I could feel the buzz starting to cloud my thoughts. I began to relax, and take another large swig. The music seemed to slow, as my thoughts began to cloud more, and I began to think more about stupid things rather than my life. I stood, I had the urge to use the restrooms again. I made my way across the floor with a few stumble here and there.
When I entered the bathroom I looked into the mirror. I stared at myself. Thick brown hair, bright blue eyes, wonderful smile. I could have stared at myself in my drunken haze all night but then my bladder reminded me that my snake needed to get rid of his venom. I stood over the urinal, drink still in hand; and half gone. That's how strong the mind bomb was. As I began to urinate I took a few more good size gulps from the glass.
When I finished my little tinkle I stumbled back out of the bathroom and to the stool. Finishing off the mind bomb with a heavy chugging that was college worthy. "Thanksh fer thah drink Sheela, i'm gonna head on out now." I managed to say. She just nodded in response and I carefully made my way out the door of the old bar. As soon as I stepped out into the cold I began to shiver, being even more warm from drinking made it even colder outside.
I had walked about twenty yards before I started to hear this strange sparking noise. I ignored it for the most part before it started to make the hair on my neck stand up. I looked around me, nothing. Maybe one of the street wires was acting up. I looked up to see the problem. No.... the streets wires were fine, but there was a little purple ball above my head! I stood there, not sure weather to be excited or shocked, or even frightened as the ball began to spin.
As the ball spun more and more air started to whirl about me. Eventually the ball became a vortex, and I screamed. Maybe this was all just a dream, maybe I was going to recover from a hangover when I woke up. Yet.... this was so real. The vortex pulled and pulled on me. Eventually I was in its grasp and it sucked me up, and out of my world.

I slowly came back from a deep sleep. I could hear voices talking around me, but I could barely make out the words. I heard very few. Just things like "creature" and "weird." I was still heavily dazed, and my eyes shot open as all my senses came back to me. "It's awake!" Spoke a quiet female voice. It was soft, and smooth like honey. I looked around me, and screamed in horror. I was surrounded by HORSES!!!!!
