Authors Note: This was my first story ever written on fimfiction, that had been featured for a given while before closing, due to my desperation for popularity for a time. Over the next few years, I learned more about writing and how instead to write: "Write for your passion, not for popularity". I managed to find the raw part of the story through Google. Please enjoy.
The sun rose above the hill, signaling the beginning of a new day. The light raced through the fields of ponyville and through equestria. Twilight lifted an eyelid and looked out the window to see the sun over the horizon through her bedroom window, she then got up out of the bed. On the way down the stairs she looked across her shoulder to see spike still tired and restful. Twilight went back downstairs and wrote a note to spike. Telling him that she had some research to attend to. Twilight went out of the tree house leaving spike all alone.
That was her mistake.
Spike shot up from his bed, he scrambled and looked downstairs. No twilight. He had the tree all to himself. Faster than he ever ran, he bolted to the kitchen.
He was never asleep in the first place, just waiting for the right time for twilight to leave. He was about to make a love potion to rarity. He can never truly tell her how he feels. But with the potion he won't have to. Inside, he went through a pile of books left on the ground by twilight from her late study. He got out the love and magic book and placed it next to the stove, got out some pots and pans, then began to make the potion just for rarity. He gotten all the ingredients he needed until it lay a small cup full of blue and pink liquid. Spike pulled a large grin on his face, thinking of what it would be like to have rarity as a girl friend. He giggled in spite of it. Spike took the cup and left twilights home towards carousel boutique.
Spike knocked on the door of the the large mares home. “coming!” yelled rarity. Spike stood there and waited for her. But he had second thoughts. He knew that a love potion completely locks out the victims will for as long as it last. He knew that if he did this a lot of changes would start to happen. But he loved rarity too much to be desired. The door opened and the beautiful rarity stood in front of him.
“Oh, spike! what ever are you doing here?”
He gulped and looked at her.
“I, umm... i made this for you, rarity.”
He bought the cup up to her for her to examine it.
“What is it?”
“It's, um...TEA!”
“Tea?”
“Yeah! I know you've been working hard and i wanted to make you it.”
“Oh that's so thoughtful of you spike!”
Rarity lifted the cup with one hoof and drank the contents of the potion. Spike started to sweat, images and thoughts started to race through his mind. But rarity was already done. But said nothing, she stood there stiff as a board. Her pupils turned wide. She looked down at spike. Then they returned to normal again.
“Well... what do you think?”
Rarity still didn't move. After a moment of awkward silence she shut the door on spike, without speaking a word.
“Well that was scary.”
Spike walked off in disappointment, back to the library.
Sweetie belle came back to the boutique from the C.M.Cs silly antics of trying to find their cutie marks, starting the day of bothering the pony neighbors with poorly drawn art, and of course it didn't work . But as she walked in the lights were all off. It was dim until she saw one of the rooms barely lit. She walked over to the room to see rarity in a room, crouched in a corner with only a candle light for her to see into. It wasn't until she walked in when she looked at all the writing on the walls and the pictures.
They all said and pictured spike.
SPIKE
SPIKE
SPIKE
SPIKE....
The words written in all different colors all pointing towards rarity. Sweetie belle slowly went towards her. As she got closer she can hear her giggling. Rarity craned her head to sweetie belle.
“Oh darling? Have you seen spike anywhere?”
“Spike! can you hand me that book?”
As requested, he picked up the purple spellbook off the ground and gave it to twilight. He was still bummed about how the potion didn't work. But he hid his emotions from twilight. There was a knock at the door. Twilight paused from her studies and answered it. There stood rarity with her saddle bag.
“Oh hi rarity! what do you-”
But before she could finish her sentence, rarity burst past twilight like a train.Shoving her against the wall. She went into a full gallop until her eyes were just a few inches to spikes.
“Hello my little sugar bear!”
“Um, hey rarity.”
Spike didn't understand , the potion didn't seem to work before, why now?
Rarity had her saddle bag with her, she pulled out an envelope and gave it to spike. He opened to see a large paper red heart with gemstones, diamonds, and both spike and rarity on the cover, with some extra gems for a snack.
“Wow rarity” said Twilight
“That's really... detailed. how did you-”
“Quiet!” interrupted Rarity.
She looked back at spike with large eyes as big as the moon. and a grin that grew ear to ear.
“I hope you enjoy my small present!”
“Small?’’ said Spike.
Rarity bent down and kissed spike, then bolted out the door.
“Since when did rarity had interest in you?” said twilight
But Spike didn't hear, because he was too lost in both acceptance and denial.
It was dark, way dark. Spike was inside a large room with nothing to light his way. He kept on looking around for some pony to help him, but there was still know one. But something was breathing down his neck. Spike turned around, but no pony was there. Then there was a sudden hoof on his shoulder. He froze, he was too scared to move. Then he could hear a whisper...
"I won’t let ANY PONY take you away from me!"
Something pulled him down, and he suffocated in her love.
Spike woke from his nightmare, and it was one heck of a dream. But he shouldn't of opened his eyes, because the next thing
he knew, Spike was looking into the bloodshot eyes of the addicted Rarity. Out of fright, he jumps out of his bed and landed on Twilight's. Yet something seemed different about her, she used to keep herself as beautiful as the moon (without nightmare moon) but her hair was as crazy as pinkies, she was sweating like a pack mule, and had black puffs under her eyes. She was a mess, and not "Rarity" mess.
"Um...Rarity? Are you oka-"
"IV'E NEVER FELT BETTER!" her left eye started to twitch.
Then Twilight woke up, and she was as surprised as Spike. He continued to speak.
"What are you doing here anyways?"
Without question, Rarity pulled out a mouth load of letters and put it in front of Spike. They were covered in sweetie belles glitter and some random paint. But not even Spike was surprised. The potion he made for her made Rarity go mad, forced to love Spike with an insanity drive to him. At first it seemed good, but as he uncovered some secrets, it was just plain creepy. The only good news was, the antidote was in the kitchen, just waiting to be drunk by Rarity.
"Okay my little sugar bear! I made a reservation at a common restaurant I found! Just you and me, and NO PONE ELSE!"
Spikes dream came back to him, was Rarity whispering to him while he was sleeping? Then the white mare bit on spikes arm and dragged him out. Twilight followed her. With the antidote in her mouth. But when she was about to catch up, Rarity turned around.
"Listen to me you selfish boyfriend stealer! Don't I ever see you with Spike again! OR I WILL KILL YOU!"
Twilight's eyes went wide, Rarity hasn't ever spoken like that to any pony she knew. Rarity turned back around and went to the restaurant she promised Spike.
Twilight closed the door behind her, she was a little shocked, Rarity was one of the most friendliest ponies around. Not in any kind of situation did she act bad like that. Twilight had to turn Rarity back, to how she was acting many things can and will go wrong.
Rarity and spike were at le château de pourpre (The purple castle), a nice restaurant in town. But this was all different. The mares and stallions eating in the place were all looking at both Spike and Rarity. A common fancy pair was just staring.
"What an odd couple!"
Spike felt embarrassed. He didn't think he deserved all this, all the unwanted attention, Rarity, and the death threats she gave. A nice white waiter stallion came up to them, with his unicorn horn, he levitated his check book.
"May i take your order?"
Spike felt embarrassed, scared, and uncomfortable. But he hasn't even eaten since morning.
"Do you have any gemstones?"
The waiter looked at spike with an odd face, as if he thought he was kidding. But in an instant, he couldn't breathe, because Rarity was strangling the waiter with her magic. She looked at the suffering stallion.
"You DO have gemstones, and YOU WILL get it for my little Spike, won't you dearest?"
With the remaining strength he had, the waiter nodded, and Rarity let him go. Then he burst back to the kitchen to get Spike his order. But Spike wasn't even hungry anymore, he was to busy having a mini-heart attack. And in just a minute the waiter from before came with a plate of blue gems. Then left like that! Spike picked up one of the gems, but when he took a bite, he saw it was just a painted rock. But he didn't want Rarity to KILL any pony. So he ate the fake gems. Every. Last. One. Until the plate in front of him was completely empty.
"GOOD! Now let’s get back to my boutique for some... business."
Oh no... spike thought
"But. Rarity. I still need to... um...F-FRESHEN UP!" He lied
"No you don't... lets just go Spike!"
She bent over to his ear.
"While Sweetie belle watches!" She whispered.
Then Rarity dropped from the chair and dragged Spike from the tail towards the boutique.
Rarity threw Spike onto her bed in her mangled and messy boutique. Spikes name was still plastered all over the wall. And in the corner was still Sweetie belle in the dragon costume, but she was taped to the wall. With nothing to do but watch them.
"L-look, Rarity, this is a all a big mistake! I confess, I made a love potion so you would love me. But it went too far!"
"Oh Spike, I can assure you that THIS is natural love!"
"Sweetie belle is in dragon costume taped to the wall! No offense Rarity, but you starting to be more like a stalker!"
"That's too bad to say, i was going to be gentle!"
Spike ran through the tree house door, he held a few scratches and bruises from Rarity. The white mare was chasing after him. He shut the door and stood back. But she crashed through the door.
"Why did you run away Spike? Don't you love me?"
"I cant believe I'm saying this, but please Rarity GO AWAY!"
Then out of nowhere Twilight attacked Rarity.
"Spike, quick! Get the antidote in the kitchen!"
Finally. He quickly ran from the library to the kitchen to see the white antidote on the counter, he picked it up gently. this kind of elixir to hours to make, and if it spill. The nightmare would start all over again. He went back into the library and went beside the struggling Rarity.
"Spike! Don't you dare give me that!" started Rarity.
"Can’t you see we were meant for each other?!"
Spike loved Rarity, but for the safety of others, he had to give the antidote to her. Twilight opened her mouth, and without another thought, Spike pored it in. Then Twilight closed Rarity's mouth. After a few more minutes of struggling, she gave up and lay motionless on the ground. Then suddenly opened her eyes.
"Uh. What Happened to me?" she felt the side of her purple hair. She didn't move, and then bolted back to her boutique. Twilight trotted over to Spike, who was again disappointed. Rarity was crazy, but the thought of knowing a pony liking him kept him in check. Twilight kept on with his feelings.
"Its okay Spike, maybe Rarity will eventually fall in love with you."
"Buck no!"
