In Equestria's distant past, two alicorns are born to loving parents, who happen to be the king and queen. The two fillies grow, watched over by their parents, and learn how to deal with the royal duties they would someday carry out. However, when their family is ripped apart, the fillies must find their own way in a world they have never known existed, and fulfill their ever more urgent destinies.
