The ponies of Equestria are content with the way mail works. They have no known alternatives, and have lived that way for centuries. Dragons can send letters with their fire breath, but they are too dangerous to approach. Spike, however, is a baby dragon; he is completely harmless. He is also a great assistant of Twilight Sparkle. Ponies begin to take notice of Spike's potential, and soon, everyone wants a Spike.
