PROLOGUE A.K.A Why is Nightmare Moon Ruler??? The Mane 6 ran up the steps of Canterlot Castle. Princess Celestia of Equestria had requested that they come to the castle as soon as possible. So of course Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia's student, teleported them there as soon as they gathered at Golden Oaks Library. After shaking off the slight nausea and dizziness they had received from teleporting so far, they ran/flew/bounced toward Canterlot Castle. "Ugh! You guys move sooooooooooo slllllllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwww!" said Rainbow Dash, turning around for the umpteenth time, her cyan wings flapping in a constant beat. "Well RD not all of us are pegusi like ya and Fluttershy." said AppleJack. "So? Twi could have teleported us all Applejack!" "No, I couldn't have because there is some kind of magical inhibitor making it highly impossible for anyone but the Princess to teleport in here!" said Twilight "Now Rainbow, its not Twilight's fault. You just need to be patient.....if you like" said Fluttershy "Shy I am being patient! They are just going as SLOW AS THEY CAN!!!" said Rainbow, her unruly rainbow hair bobbing as she spoke. "C'mon Dashie!" said Pinkie Pie, bouncing up the steps as they approached the hall of memories, "We're almost there, see!" "Whatever Pinkie, I just hope this isn't over something stupid." "Of course it isn't stupid! I sure whatever the Princess wants to tell us is of utmost importance!" said Twilight. "I must agree with Twilight on this one darlings. Normally when the Princess wants to talk to us its over the well-being of Equestria!" said Rarity, pulling a mirror out and checking her hair. The guards pushed the doors open and closed them once the girls had entered the hall. The room seemed darker, quite the contrast from the normally bright and cheery room. When they didn't see Princess Celestia or her young adviser Philomena they began to worry. "Hello?" asked Twilight, cautiously, "Princess? Philomena? Anyone here?" "Told you it would be something stupid." muttered Rainbow. A dark laughter filled the hall, "I believe this hardly counts as stupid." "Who's there? I ain't scared of you! Show yourself!" Rainbow shouted, her wings spread as she jabbed at the air. "Tch, tch, tch temper Ms. Dash temper." "Temper my A-" Rainbow was cut off when Fluttershy glared at her, "Adidas!" Twilight started to gather her magic in her hands, "Who are you?" "I'll give you a hint," said the voice, "I was at the Summer Sun Celebration that brought you all together." "The Summer Sun Celebration? That was when I was trying to convice the Princess that Nightmare Moon was returning. Nightmare Moon was returning..... Oh no..." Fluttershy moved to hide behind Pinkie, who hid behind AppleJack, "Oh my!" All of a sudden a purple fog started to overtake the room. Rainbow tried hard to keep it away from the six of them by flapping her wings, but it seemed the harder she flapped the closer the it came. Fluttershy was the first to fall down, asleep. Then came Pinkie, followed by Rarity. AppleJack had pulled her bandana over her nose so she could stay awake longer but a few minutes after Rarity fell asleep she started to sway until finally she collapsed on the ground. Rainbow's wings hurt from slapping so hard and her jaw ached from clenching her teeth, But I can't stop...... Can't stop.... can't.......... stop......... can....... Thud. Twilight was the only one left standing, barely. Her magic had faded away awhile ago and whatever was in this gas was something she shouldn't inhale more than a little of at a time. Her legs started to wobble and her eyes started to droop. She fell down on the floor, her eyes blinking at a slow pace. Just before everything faded to black she saw someone walked towards her. After waving to their best friends Rikky Mix and Matilda Shine, they raced past the playground and they headed towards home. "C'mon! After avoiding Rarity's attempts to be models for her new teen clothing line, Penni and Pat ran up the steps of SugarCube Corner. Throwing down their backpacks, then greeted their mom, Caroline Cake. "Hey Mom!" said Patrick, giving her a hug. "Hi Mom." said Penelope, giving her a kiss. "How are my Pound and Pumpkin Cakes?" said their mom. "Good!" They replied, grabbing there aprons and walking in the kitchen "Were's Dad?" asked Penni from the kitchen. "Out delivering orders. He should be back soon. Make sure you do your chores!" "Yes Mom!" they replied "Finally." said Penelope, after they finished there chores, "Have you seen Matilda and Rikky?" "Yeah, there in the front. They sai-" started Patrick Sounds of a scuffle interrupted Patrick. The twins looked at the door and started walking towards it, but as they started forward a Lunar Guard burst through the door. "Are you Penelope Anne Cake and Patrick Dylan Cake?" he questioned "Y-y-yes sir." said Penelope "By order of Queen Nightmare Moon, Caroline and Charles Cake have been arrested. You will be left here. "I will repeat," he growled, leaning so close to Penelope she could smell the breath mint that he had in his mouth,"Do you understand children?" Penelope dropped down on the floor, crying.Untying and folding his apron,Patrick walked over toward the door.They had destroyed the whole shop, it would take months of work to fix all of this. Maybe he could get Patricia to help along with AppleJack. Looking around he heard two groans from under a broken table. Moving away the broken pieces he found twins, Matilda "Music" Shine and Rikky "Record" Mix. "Rikky? Matilda? What happened to you?" asked Patrick. "We tried to stop them, Pat. Honest..." Said Rikky. Since the arrest of their parents, Pat and Penni ran the bakery even though they ended up giving away most of the food because most children couldn't afford to buy it. One day after they had closed the shop, Pat and Penni sat in the back room with Matilda and Rikky. “We need to find them.” said Pat. “You heard the guard,” replied Penni, “We go after them and we get caught, we’ll get killed!” “That's if we get caught.” said Rikky “Yeah. I mean we might save them.” said Matilda “But we don’t know very much about the castle..” “We know a person who does though.” Said Pat. “Spike??” said Penni, knocking on the door of the Golden Oaks Library. “Spike open the door!” said Rikky The door opened slightly and a boy with bright green hair, draconic eyes, and a purple and green outfit stepped out the door. "Well Rarity, RD,AJ, Shy, and Pinkie are still around too." said Spike. "Didn't you say that they had gone to Canterlot before the attack when all the adults dissapeared?" "Yeah. Why?" "No reason Spike. We'll come back later to talk about the thing." "'The thing'? Oh the Jailbreak... Alright." "Yeah, but don't tell anyone." said Patrick, heading towards the door. "Sure, I'll see you guys around," said Spike, waving. "Let us OUT!" Rainbow Dash, yelled shaking the bars of the cage she was in, "I can't stay like this! I'll go crazy!!" Rainbow's clothes were torn, she had gashes on her legs, arms, and face from multiple beatings. She felt broken and was on the verge of insanity. She sat down in the cage, curled up in a ball and started to cry. The rest of the mane 6 weren't fairing any better. Fluttershy looked just as bad as Rainbow. Her clothes were torn and she had a long gash that ran from her ear to her mouth. Since it was still fresh, blood ran down her face on to her long sleeved pale yellow sweater, staining it. Rarity had burn marks all over. They weren't severe but they bubbled, blistered and stung. AppleJack had cuts, scrapes, and burns all over. Her yellow plaid bandana was now the color of dried blood and so was the collar of her shirt. Pinkie's hair had deflated and was the only one left mostly unscathed since most of her damage was done physiologically. Twilight was worst of them all. She was so battered and beaten that you couldn't see her natural skin tone anymore. No physiological damage had been done but her eyes seemed empty and dark. Rainbow felt a pair of hands lift her off the ground. Not even bothering to look up, she felt her legs being forced into a walking position. She was then dragged into a dark room with chains hanging of the wall. The guards forcefully spread her wings to chain them to the wall. Once she was secured onto the wall, the guards walked back toward the door. Nightmare Moon walked into the room. Rainbow glanced up, "Your a bitch you know that?" "You say that every time I come in here. So, yes I know that." replied Nightmare Moon, calmly. Rainbow paused for a beat and then mumbled, "Princess Celestia." "Hmm?" "Every time you come in here you ask, 'Who do you pledge alligence to?' and I'm giving a reply a head of time." Nightmare Moon blinked before grabbing one of the weapons off the wall, an electric whip to be exact, "Well then we can just move on then." Rainbow's eyes nearly doubled in size. She felt the whip connect with her body and send an electric shock thoughout her body. She felt blood coming up in her throat but kept her mouth closed and her screams silent. Rainbow didn't know how long this went but it felt like forever. Finally Nightmare Moon stopped hitting her and walked towards her. "Anything you would like to say?" Nightmare Moon asked, a smirk forming on her lips. Rainbow spat the blood she had been holding in her mouth at Nightmare Moon, hitting her square in the face, "Yeah, your still a grade A bitch!" She grinned showing her red teeth. Nightmare Moon wiped the blood off her face, her smirk turned to an evil grin, "Maybe messing with your mind might change your opinion." "Yeah and my names Yogi Bear!" Smirk, "Well then I suggest you start stealing picnic baskets Yogi." Patrick was lying on his back in his bed facing the ceiling, thoughts running through his mind at full speed. How? How are Twilight and her friends still here.. They can't be! .A knock on his door took him from his thoughts. "Pat? Are you awake?" asked Penelope, opening his door slightly. "Yeah," said Patrick, sitting up, "What's up?" "I was wondering, how are we going to save our parents anyway. Rikky can hardly fly. My magic isn't very strong. Matilda isn't very strong. You have the best qualifications of all of us." "Well, we'll train. Get stronger, faster, better. Then we'll go." "How will we get there?" "Walking. Flying... I'll get Rik strong enough were he can carry Matilda and I can carry you. The annaversery money will have to go towards this expedition. Since that one guard knows what we look like and a few of them know what Rik and Matilda look like were gonna have to dye our hair."
