Galloping.
That’s all he was doing, Galloping. On and on. No stopping, no turning back, no second thoughts. Not after what happened. He would die if he went back. This stallion was no outlaw, in fact he was fairly popular, but after the attack on his village, the enslavement of his kind, the uprising to freedom and the failure to succeed, he couldn't go back.
Help. That’s all he needed, help.
He had nothing left, no friends with him, no family left, no possessions, just a big cloak and a pair of sunglasses. Not much, but it was all he could scavenge.
Its been days since he first set off. No sleep, no rest, just constant galloping. Just moving forwards, and forwards he went. Without even realizing, he drew nearer and nearer to Canterlot city. The capital of Equestria… Equestria… a place he was not familiar with.
As he drew nearer to the city gates the guards noticed him.
“Hey, Shift, see this?” said one of the guards nodding in the direction of the hooded stallion. “Looks like somepony’s getting their exercise. Haha.” he chuckled to himself.
“They better have some bits this time, nopony gets in the city this way without paying the toll.” the other guard said flatly, remembering the previous visitor.
As the stallion got even closer, the guards noticed that he wasn’t slowing down. He got closer and closer and, if anything, got faster.
“HEY BUDDY, SLOW DOWN!” the first guard called, waving his forelegs.
Nothing. No trace of him losing speed.
“HEY, CAN YOU HEAR ME?!” the guard shouted again, waving his forelegs furiously.
Still nothing. The stallion just galloped. More and more. Just going forward. He was mere meters away from the gate and still he had the determination to move.
“HEY, STOP!!” the guard called once again, reaching out to stop the stallion.
Just before he was caught by the guard he jumped into the air and a pair of wings stretched out from under the cloak. He flew over the gate before both the guards could react and landed on the other side with a loud *thump*. Almost instantly he set off again at high speeds. Before the first guard could realize what had just happened to second used his unicorn magic to amplify his voice:
“INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!! WEST SIDE GATE!!!”
Now there were guards swarming the city searching for the hooded stallion. He didn’t care though, he just went straight for the castle. Up and up through the levels of the city. Once the guards found him they realized where he was going and went the quick rout only they knew about.
As the hooded stallion reached the front doors to the castle he noticed a wall of guards waiting for him. All he could do was stop and wait for them to make the first move for he was enable to fly over them because there were Pegasi forming another wall above the one on the ground.
“GET THEM!!” one of the guards called to the rest. “DON’T LET THEM PASS!!”
Almost instantly the wall of ponies charged at the stallion, so he stood his ground, waiting for the right moment. And that moment came soon enough, a gap formed in the wall and the stallion saw it. Nothing could stop him now, they could try but he will get what he wan- what he needs. He went straight for the gap in the oncoming wall and passed the guards with a tight squeeze. Unfortunately the one on his left noticed what he was doing and caught his cloak in his mouth, pulling it off, leaving a dark grey Pegasus with a long black mane and tail that have red stripes running down them, rather bewildered. As soon as the stallion noticed the guards turning around to charge at him again, he too ran towards the castle door. The Grey Pegasus knocked the door open with one hit and charged in, heading straight for the throne room. When he found it, he crashed into that room too but screaming this time.
“THE PRINCESS, I MUST SPEAK WITH THE PRINC- ARGHH!!” but it was no use, the guards had caught up and tackled him to the ground with a loud *THUD*. “NO, I MUST SPEAK WITH THE PRINCESS!! UNHOOF ME!!!” but the guards just held him there on the ground. “NO, TH-THE PRINCESS, GET OFF ME! I… MUST… SPEAK… to… the… princess…….” he said with his last breath before his eyes closed, unconscious.
That stallion was me…
