//-------------------------------------------------------// When it rains -by Featherflutter- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Begining of the storm //-------------------------------------------------------// Begining of the storm Scootaloo looked at  the buried and patted grave. As she stared there were few things to say or think then. She had cared for her on an enormous scale and protected and shielded her from the cold and bitter real world. She felt like an actual child when she was with her, not a tough brave and powerful mare, more of a small innocent little foal. She felt safe with her. She know that she deserves her long rest hut the hurting won’t go away. It cant go away. She wont let it. As she looked to the grave she saw a droplet of water come out of no where. Then another came then another, soon a rythmic sound of pitter pattering came from all around her, and she never moved. She started sniffling and that went to crying. She collapsed and fell to the grave still crying. She was glad it had started raining. She didnt want anypony to see her cry. Scootaloo hugged the gravestone hoping, just hoping, that it would bring her back. The grave still stood there, unresponsive, unchanging, the same, taunting her in a sense.. Scootaloo regained herself and sat upward. There were only two words that could said after that. “Thank you” said scootaloo now walking away still sobbing a bit, forever hurting, but she turned back and smiled a smile she hadn't felt in a while. It wasnt happiness, nor joy, it was love. Scootaloo smiled because she loved her so much, but was gone. She knew nothing could be done, what happened happend and there was no changing it. Scootaloo walked back to her alley that she had made and now calls home and went to sleep. Scootaloo felt a slight gust of cold wind from the outside of her alley and covered up as best she could. still asleep she dreamed very calmly and steadily. she dreamt of all the times she was with her mother. the good, the bad, the scary, the sad. anytime she could remember being with her brought her more peace and joy, they were great. even her last encounter. "now that you have these things there is one thing i have to tell you before i leave." scootaloo was on the verge of crying she didn't know what to do. She remembered her mothers look when she saw her the way she was. "scootaloo. is everything alright?" asked Her mother. 'why do you have to go. why cant you just stay? i need you. why cant you just stay' asked scootaloo on the verge of tears. "you already know the reason why. look. you have been a strong filly, i've seen it in your eyes countless times" said her mother hugging scootaloo. 'seen what?' asked scootaloo hugging her back. "courage, fearlessness, bravery, happiness, laughter, joy. where has it gone, i've seen less and less?" asked her mother. 'it left when dad started beating me up. All of my happiness left when he started. i-i thought that since he kept beating me up, i had to become the strong one. i thought he hurt me because he thought i was weak..' said scootaloo shaking a bit. "you didnt have to be that at all. when he beat you i wanted to hit him right back, i wanted you to live your foal hood in happiness. not like this." said Her mother looking at her misty eyes. 'im so sorry. i love you so much Mamma.' scootaloo started to cry, she couldn't hold them in anymore. 'i love you so much, please don't go. please' yelled scootaloo wailing and holding onto her mother's coat like it was for dear life. "you know i have to. i love you to scootaloo, i've always loved you and i always have." said her mother starting to tear up. 'why couldn't you stop him.' asked scootaloo. "because he's too strong. he can hurt me as much as he can hurt you; and that wouldn't solve to problem anyways" said her mother. ‘your right, you tried your best i understand.' said scootaloo. "oh no" started max "I would do it, i wish i did that would. it would have kept you out of harm" said her mother beating herself up mentally. 'no its ok mamma, i deserve to be hit, i mean look at me im-' "stop it" interrupted her mother with a stern look on her face "don't say that. you never deserve to get hit. you are a great pony. never ever let anyone or yourself under mind yourself like that." said her mother bluntly. 'oh. sorry' said scootaloo looking down. "theres nothing to be sorry for. now i have to go. i will always love you" said her mother walking out of her room. "oh and after the funeral, try to be a little happier. remember the good times" said her mother before he walked further and further down the long corridor. 'goodbye mom' were scootaloos final words before she went to sleep discontentedly. After that memory had ended scootaloo was sobbing in her sleep, with a smile on her face. she will try to be happier. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// the rain poured down harder onto her shelter, leaking in some causing scootaloo to become severely cold. she shivered a bit and went back to sleep. meanwhile while Rarity was walking through streets of ponyville rain pouring, making her mane flow down her face, eliciting small giggles from prissy unicorn, when it would graze the back of her neck. She was coming back from the small party Pinkie Pie had thrown, for the sake of throwing a party, oh pinkie, you sure do throw the best parties thought rarity Ugh! why does it have to rain on such a beautiful night. if it weren’t raining i would go for a night time walk i- rarity stopped thinking; something had caught her attention. She looked around to see what had distracted her from her thinking. She waited, listening and waiting to see if she could hear it again. In the alleyway, that was close to her, she could distinctly hear crying. Usually she would not go down an alley for any reason, at any cost but considering it was raining hard, and the crying sounded like a filly crying, she went to go investigate. While walking down the dank and dirty alley she noticed a mound  purging up out of a cardboard box. It seemed that was where the crying was coming from. When she lifted up the cardboard box, what awaited her was one of the saddest things she has or will ever see. There lay scootaloo, shivering and crying in her sleep, her body almost fur and bones, her coat matted and dirty. Rarity covered her mouth in disbelief, and shock. Her emotions got to her to sudden and tears came to her eyes. She quickly passed them off knowing that if scootaloo stayed that way any longer then she would surely die. Rarity picked scootaloo up lightly, making sure not to wake her up, and put her onto her back. She made her way to her house and put scootaloo in a bed in their guest bedroom. she turned back looking at the crying filly and she knew that that was all she could do. for now. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Scootaloo had not woken up from Rarity moving her, she had stayed asleep and had started dreaming again. She dreamt about a memory when she was four. she was sleeping in her bed. all of a sudden she awoke from what was a bad dream and as all four year olds would she started to cry. her mother rushed in immediately, trying to calm down the scared filly. scootaloo was trembling a bit and calmed down embraced in the arms of her loving mother. "shhh its ok sweetie mommas got you. youll be fine no one will hurt you" said scootaloos mother comforting her. scootaloo looked at her mother with a teary eyed smile on her face 'i love you momma' said scootaloo hiccuping a bit. "i will always love you scootaloo" said scootaloos mother warmly. scootaloo tossed in the bed with the memories replaying in her head. she was crying a bit not enough for anyone to hear but crying none the less. Scootaloo had one last memory. it was of her father. she was 7. it was mid afternoon and she was playing with her toys, she had not done her homework. she was falling behind in school. her dad had come in without her knowing it. "and what are you doing young filly" asked scootaloos father in a brash voice. scootaloo turned around and scrambled to her hooves looking back 'oh hi dad' said scootaloo nervously. "you are supposed to be doing your homework, you are falling behind in your class and i know now what you have been doing." scootaloos dad said in a somewhat angered tone. 'dad im sorry' said scootaloo knowing that wouldnt help. "your sorry? well that makes it all better now doesn't it. lets all go get cupcakes now." said scootaloos dad in an even more angered tone. ' please dad i'm really sor-' she couldn't finish her sentence because a hard hoof came crashing down on her head discombobulating her and making her look in shock. "i dont care. your always sorry. now sorry has no meaning because you always do it again. i don't care that your sorry, i dont care at all" said scootaloos father who started beating on the defenseless filly. scootaloo wrapped herself in a fetal position trying to protect herself in any way she could, crying and repeatedly saying 'im sorry' scootaloo woke up in a furious daze expecting a brick wall to punch, she instead punched the plaster making a gaping hole. scootaloo then fell down and started to sob. She looked around to find that she was in rarities boutique rarity had come up to check and see what was the matter. “are you alright?” asked rarity coming up the stairs. “I  heard somethi-“ rarity didn't finish the sentence as she witnessed the sobbing scootaloo and the broken wall. “SCOOTALOO” yelled rarity. Scootaloo looked up and standing there was her father. ‘no. NO. THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE” said scootaloo hallucinating that rarity was her father. Scootaloo immediately scrambled to get away, 'aaaah im sorry, please no more. im sorry'. Rarity walked up closer not knowing what was going on.”are you alright?” asked rarity.  'You’re supposed to be dead. get away from me, you evil evil thing.' said scootaloo backing herself onto a wall still hallucinating that it was her father. “What are you talking about” asked rarity  coming closer. Sweetie belle came in and smacked scootaloo “how could you say that to her, she’s a great pony” Said sweetie.  Scootaloo quivered back 'get away from him. he will suck the love out of you like he did me. Get out of here quickly’ said scootaloo eyes distorted and breathing heavily. Sweetie responded coldly “she loves you and me, why would rarity suck the love from us and how did she do it to you?” asked sweetie holding up scootaloo to the wall. 'Wha- what are you talking about. That’s my dad he came back from the dead ' said scootaloo even more delirious. “No it wasn't its rarity” said sweetie belle.  Scootaloo’s eyes turned back to their normal look and looked around 'how- how did i get here. Why am i here? Where’s my dad?' asked scootaloo. “rarity saw you while she was walking.” said sweetie. “You were crying and you looked really cold so she brought you in here and put you in this bed to let you sleep. You said something about your mother” said rarity recalling what had happened while scootaloo was asleep. ‘Yeah yeah yeah. Where’s my father. He was in here before’ asked scootaloo looking around. “I don’t know darling. I came in here to check and see what was wrong. I yelled at you because you punched a hole into my wall and then you started acting odd” said rarity. ‘Scootaloo finally put two and two together. 'Oh my. You were my father, i mean i hallucinated that you were my father. That’s why i said that. i thought you were going to kill me'. Rarity hugged scootaloo and told her in a comforting tone “I would never do anything like that. Never, now you go back to sleep. Your safe here”. Scootaloo went up onto the bed hoping not to have any more bad dreams. ‘thank you’ said scootaloo before going into a deep and peaceful slumber.
