//-------------------------------------------------------// TheJourney Of An Alicorn -by DawnRose- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolougue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolougue “It is a lovely sunny day,” I said as my sister - Princess Cadence- and I strolled through the palace gardens. “It is quite wonderful.” she agreed. “It is also fabulous to have a chance to see you again. Between my studies with Princess Luna and your duties as Princess we hardly ever get to see each other anymore.” I told her. “Yes it is rare that we get to see each other. By the way how are your studies going?” she replied. And so I told her all about what princess Luna was teaching me. “Most of the things she  is teaching me are things like raising the stars and moon. I think that she is afraid that she will start to slip-up and become NightMare-Moon once more.” I whispered the last part because just the thought that my teacher might leave me is devastating. “Oh. But do you really think that will happen?” my sister said in return. “I honestly don’t know what to think.” I replied. “I am sorry sister but I must leave now, for I am almost late for a meeting with Twilight.” Cadence said. “It is fine sister. I must go as well.” And so, we parted ways once-more. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lesson //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lesson “LifeWing, you are late. Are you well?” Worried my teacher, Princess Luna. “Yes, Quite well. I have just come home from visiting my sister in the Crystal Empire!” I replied cheerily. “Good, for you are going to need all your strength for this next lesson.” she said. “Wonderful! What are we working on today.” I asked. “You will raise the moon tonight in my stead.” Luna answered. “Yay! Wait what. Why would I do that as part of my studies?” I inquired. “LifeWing-” she paused in the middle of her sentence to think. Then she sighed and continued. “I haven’t  been completely honest with you.” she sighed again “Each time I raise the moon, I feel more and more of  myself slipping away.” her voice cracked at the end of the sentence. “And so now I am training you to replace me as Princess of the Night.” She told me. “Why?!” I asked. “Why would you want to give that up?” “I am not giving up my title, I am offering you a chance to be the acting Princess. You would be given all the responsibility of Princess, but I would still have my title and crown. If you except my offer we will have to work twice as hard-” I cut her off with a quizzical look. “You will need to improve quite a bit before the coronation- as I was saying, we will need to work exceptionally hard to meet the goal of raising the moon tonight.” at this point she paused to look at me. “Don’t worry Princess, I accept your offer!” I told her. “Wonderful. Now, we have two hours before moon-rise. feel free to do whatever you please until then. You might want to join Twilight and Cadence in Ponyville, if so feel free to get my carriage to take you there and back. Now, I must leave you, but I will be back in an hour and a half. Goodbye my little Winglet.” she flew away as she finished. ‘Well, I geuss I should meet the others in Ponyville. I have alot to tell them.’ I thought as I flew off to find Luna’s carriage. 20 minutes later in Ponyville “LifeWing, is that you sister? Wow, twice in one day!” said Princess Cadence. “Hello LifeWing to what do we owe the visit?” asked Twilight. “Well, I have something to tell you two. Not as my princesses but as my sisters.” I announced. “What happened!” panicked Twilight. “Nothing bad, but something very important. Princess Luna has asked me to take over for her as acting Princess of the Night.”  I said. “WHAT!?” They said at the same time. “Why would she do that!?” asked Twilight. “Well, she said that every time she raises the moon, she feels herself tuning back into Night-Mare Moon.” I answered. “Wow!When is the coronation?” Inquired Cadence. “I don’t know. But what I do know is that my first test is in...what time is it?” I asked. “About ten minutes after sunset. Why?” said Twilight. “Oh no I need to go. I am almost late!” I exclaimed. “Late for what?” Asked Cadence. “Late to meet Luna to raise the moon with her! Bye!” I shouted as I flew out the door and towards Canterlot completely forgetting about Luna’s carriage, still waiting for me. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Coronation //-------------------------------------------------------// The Coronation //-------------------------------------------------------// Preparations //-------------------------------------------------------// Preparations “LIFEWING! Are you okay!?”  asked my teacher. “huh... what happened?” I returned in a daze. “You were flying so fast you skidded and were catapulted into the glass door and have been unconscious for ten minutes.” answered Luna. “ I am so sorry. Why I was  in a hurry was because I was going to be late for raising the moon.” I said that last sentence in a rush. “ What are you talking about?” she asked. “I was ten minutes late.” I shot back. “No your fifteen minutes early.” she replied. “Oh well sorry. But now that I am here  should we start on the stars?”  I asked. “Sounds good to me.” she replied. The first star was the hardest. “I can’t do it,” I said. “Yes you can!” she replied. After that it was pretty easy. “Now is the time to raise the moon.” “Really?” I inquired excitedly. “ Yes, really. Now , I will help you with getting the moon airborne, but after that it is all you.” Raising the moon was the most exilerating thing I had ever done. One would expect it to be dificult to raise the moon, but it was surpriseingly easy. After the moon was up, Luna told me my coronation would be in one week. We will be raising the moon and stars every night until then so I will be ready when I have to do it on my own. Yesterday if you asked me what my least favorite thing in the world was I would have said mean ponies. Not any more. The only thing worse in the world, is trying on dresses at Carousel Boutique. You might be thinking, ‘Why is shopping at Rarity’s shop so bad?’  Well Rarity thinks no dress on the planet goes with my coat colour. I must have tried on twenty different dresses before I found one that worked. I made my purchase, exited the shop, flew home, and promptly fell asleep.
