A dreamy apocalypse: of lullabies and sisterhoods
Star rolled over in her bed, a feeling stuck in the back of her head. No matter how much she had tossed and turned for the last half an hour, she just couldn't get back to sleep. It was a shame really, she was having that awesome dream again where everypony was chanting her name. Oh well.
She reluctantly stood up and mindlessly wandered into the hallway, past her mother's room, and out onto the porch. Soon enough, she had tripped over something limp on the floor, and was in a patch of mud. She pulled her head out, blew her sticky mane out of her face, and observed the object that she had tripped over. There lay a light blue Pegasus with a baby pink mane. She was seemingly dead, and had scratches too deep to be from a Timber-wolf or somepony's dog. Star froze, and let out a fearful scream.
"OH FLAMING BALLS OF THE HELL-DWELLERS!"
Clicking sounds came from behind her. She spun on her hooves and shrieked. Ponies - no, SKELETONS - stumbled up to the two ponies. Holding a hoof to her mouth to stop herself from screaming, she scooped up the mare and ran inside, dropping her on the floor and trying to lock the door, only to be pulled out of the doorway. She screamed and kicked at the strange creatures that were crawling up her legs, and yelped as she felt claws run up her side. She looked to her left, and she rolled her eyes.
Werewolves; how original.
Reaching up, she found her saddlebag, and pulled out the silver knife that she had always kept for this occasion.
Ha, 'never needed' her flank.
She swung it at the pony, who winced, let out a dog-like whimper, and ran out into the woods.
Next, the skellies.
She flung herself forwards, and slapped her fore-hooves around, pushing the skeletons further away, and sometimes even scattering their many bones around.
After a disgusting and messy battle with the creatures, she got up, wiped the blood from her leg and trotted inside, ignoring the warpaint-like blood smeared on her cheek, the painful scratch on her flank and the bruises on her legs.
Lost in her own thoughts, she hadn't realized that a certain Pegasus was now staring at her, a terrified glint in her eyes.
Oh boy.
