Chapter 1: The Events Part 1
So, I'm curious. Have you ever heard of the show, My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic? You have? Well then you are used to the world of magic ponies, pegasi and unicorn who all live peacefully in existence together... But, have you ever heard of the events that almost ended all life in Equestria? No? Well then, take a seat, grab some popcorn. I am about to tell you the tale of "The Dark Realm"...
It was a shiny beautiful day in Ponyville, the clouds were being kicked to small particles by the Pegasi and many ponies were in the towns trade center, talking to one another about the latest Wonderbolt races and Fashion Trends. Rarity, the Ponyville fashion diva, was working on a particular clothing line in which a mysterious famous pony asked her to make. Although, to Rarity, something seemed odd about the line of clothing... They were not the same clothing types, plus there were only one of each suit! The materials described were none Rarity has ever heard of... Golden Sapphire Ruby? Diamond Quarts? Emerald Limestone? "What in the living hay are these so called "sophisticated" materials?" Rarity questioned in her design room, pacing back and forth. "I don't know who this "Pandormare" is, but she is asking for materials that can't be found in Ponyville, maybe not in Canterlot, maybe not in Equestria!!" Rarity said, then throwing the order to the wall in frustration. Still, she wanted to fulfill the order, due to the amount of bits and popularity on the line. So instead of procrastinating, she got straight to trying to find knowledge of these materials. "Now where in Equestria where I find these-" She then took another stare at the order and her jaw nearly dropped. "COMMON MATERIALS???" She yelled in an angered tone. "Oh well, I'm sure Twilight has a book on all the natural materials findable in Equestria" She said. Rarity then strapped on her saddle bag, located to the left of her bed, and walked out the door on route to Twilight's Library. On her way, she briefly glanced up at the sky and noticed a black cloud, all alone and not being taken care of. "Ugh, If these Pegasi don't clear up the sky, Ponyville will look exactly like the Everfree!" She mumbled. As she reached Twilights doorstep, she had forgotten all about the mysterious black cloud. She opened the library door and interrupted Twilight and her studies. "Twilight? I need to ask to see one of your books." She slightly demanded. "Uh-huh." Twilight replied, not paying attention to a word that was coming out of Rarity's mouth. "Uhm... Do you have a book on Natural Resources found in Equestria?" She asked with a light smile. "Natural Resources?" Spike replied, cutting into the conversation. He then walked over to a shelf at the far end of the book room and pulled out a book with a piece of coal on the cover. "Here you are Rarity, "Equestria's Natural Resources"." He read. "Thank you so much darling, this will really help me wow my client!" Rarity said to herself. She then left the Library and continued on with her work day. During her trail along the lone dirt path, she passed Fluttershy, Ponville's most timid Mare Pegasus and the only pony in Equestria who can enter the Everfree Forest without running out when hearing a blood-curdling growl. She was sitting with her pet bunny, Angel who were staring at a mysterious black colored raven. "U-Uhm... Angel... Have you ever... Uhm... Seen such a bird?" Fluttershy asked in a bashful tone. Angel just shook his head and continued to stare at the raven. "Well... Uhm... Are you, uh, hungry little friend?" Fluttershy asked, holding bird seeds in her hand. But still, the raven was motionless. Fluttershy and Angel had no idea what to do about this strange creature before their eyes. After staring for nearly ten minutes, they decided to leave the strange creature and head back to the cottage. While almost at home, Fluttershy happened to look behind her and see the raven trailing right behind them. She then turned around and stared at the bird again."Uh... Do you maybe, want to stay over? That is if your homeless." Fluttershy asked timidly. Yet the raven only marched right into the cottage. Angel had a strange feeling about the creature the whole time, but couldn't exactly put his paw on it. That night, Fluttershy laid in bed, sleeping soundly, while as the raven sat... Watching her... Never blinking, never moving, just staring. On the other side of Ponyville, Pinkie Pie, Ponyville's and maybe even Equestria's craziest mare planned to stay up all night and party till the daybreak! But she was interrupted by a strange knocking at the door. "Who could be silly enough to stay up this late? Oh yea! Me! Haha!" She giggled energetically. As she opened the door she could fine no pony there, but only a strange box with no tape or seal on it. "Well, Uhm... Thanks... Wind?" She said, then shut her door and returned to her nightly routine. When she opened the box it contained a small amulet with a note that read "Return this to me in the morning. Signed, Twilight". She thought it was strange for Twilight to be up this late, but she paid little mind to it and continued on being Pinkie Pie. Her pet alligator Gummy, an alligator with no teeth couldn't look more thrilled to partaken the activities of the night. At Sweet Apple Acres, Ponyville's apple farm, a mare named Applejack was up, Babysitting the Cutie Mark Crusaders, three fillies who joined together in trying to earn their cutie marks, but do actions that earn them nothing almost every time. Applebloom, Applejack's little sister was planning some papers to write a story about them earning their cutie marks. SweetieBelle, the little sister to Rarity and a Unicorn, was working on the coloring of the scenes in which they partaken actions in getting their marks, and succeed in every way. Scootaloo, a young Pegasus, who can't fly very well and idolizes Rainbow Dash, another Pegasus pony and also the fastest flyer in Equestria, was working on the costumes, and to be perfectly honest, they weren't half bad, they had the right style and textures, I'm sure Rarity would be jealous. As Applejack was wandering past the window, she glanced out of it and saw a strange silhouette of a pony go into the chicken pen. "Now who in tarnation would wonder through our chicken den, an' this late at night?" Applejack asked herself and headed to the pen. As she entered, she saw nothing disturbed, nothing stolen, not even another pony, but something did catch her eye. There was a small black orb in the middle of the pen. She went over to it and held it to her face. "Now who in the wide, wide world of Equestria would leave a black ball in a chicken pen?" She wondered. She then headed back in at the call of Applebloom shouting her name out the window. High in the skies, Rainbow Dash, a Pegasus mare and fabled best flier in Equestria was flying high about the clouds, when a specific cloud caught her attention! She rushed over to the cloud, the cloud was a midnight black, it growled and groaned as if it were alive, it tossed and turned in itself, only to make more and more deformed shapes. Without thinking, Rainbow Dash shoved her hoof inside the cloud, a black form of an unknown kind raced up her hoof and began to consume her in a dark muck, she couldn't scream, the darkness somehow wouldn't let her. She struggled to free herself, but the darkness still raced up her arm, at this point, it was all over her arm, it then started to consume the rest of her body, and at this point, Rainbow Dash was in pain! Immense pain! She opened her mouth, but nothing came out! Not a peep, not a word! She could hear talking in her ears, shadows in her eyes, but nopony was around! The darkness reached all the way down to her legs and she began to feel bones crunching! She opened her mouth to try and scream, but what came out was blood, thick, unforgivable blood! It reached her wings and they began to crunch! Tears appeared down her eyes! She began crying, begging Celestia to free her, her nose started bleeding, blood was emptying out of her system, and all because this blackness was consuming her! The darkness had reached half her body and at then, she realized this was the worst pain she ever felt! Or will ever feel! As the darkness reached into her eyes, turning her reddish pupils black and white tears red, she gave out a final gasp... And fell... Fell to her death. But, then she awoken, in tears, sweating, out of breath and in the middle of Ponyville... She sat up an thanked Celestia that it was all a dream... But, as she looked at her hoof, and saw a black stain slowly consuming her hoof, as slow as anything she's known, she let out few words... "Oh my god... It was real...". At this point, Rainbow Dash's sense of relief turned into pure terror as the dark, mucky substance started to disable her senses and abilities! She began flying away, to find Twilight, Rarity, anypony! As she was flying, her wings grew weak, after no more than ten seconds of flight, her wings couldn't carry her anymore! She had to run, as fast as she could. As she was running and glanced down at her hoof, she was simply awed by the fact she had one blue hoof and another completely black one. She could no long run as the blackness started to consume all of her hoof, arm and back hoof! She had to walk as fast as possible, and after doing that for no more than fifteen seconds, she was crawling, begging for life, pleading that Somepony would find her and save her! She fell to her stomach, now consumed by the darkness and being crunched with pain. She slowly started gazing off, into slumber, eternal slumber. As she clenched on to life, her cutie mark began to glow, a bright yellow color! Her eyes widened as she could hear the darkness shrieking in pain, trying to fight against this mysterious light. The darkness then drew back and tried to escape her body, but not before the light clenched onto it and attacked it, slowly melting the dark form into nothing but a drop of black stain. Just as she returned attention to her cutie mark, it stopped glowing and returned to its rainbow state. "W-what happened to me?" She asked in sheer fear. She wanted to ask Twilight if she knew anything, but it was almost morning anyways, she decided to wait until the sun had risen and Ponyville was awaken to ask Princess Twilight about the mysterious occurrence. So, she went home and slept through the rest of the night... restlessly.
Chapter 1: "The Events" Part 2
As Rainbow Dash awoken bright and early to get to Twilight's Library, something disturbed her, something ugly. Rarity happened to pass by when she noticed Rainbow Dash looking in the sky, with a disgusted facial tone. Rainbow Dash was staring at clouds... Not ordinary clouds, blackish dark clouds, they were groaning and growling in themselves, moving as slow as... Anything she's ever seen. Rainbow Dash was so disturbed by the clouds, her face grew a light green color and she threw up. Rarity ran over to her and asked her what the problem was, but Dash couldn't reply, she could only nod and keep walking towards the Library, undisturbed. When she reached the Library, she was a sweaty mess, she knocked on the door an within seconds, Twilight answered. "Rainbow? What happened to you?" Twilight asked in a worried tone. "It's not important! Do you still have the Princess's journal?" Rainbow asked in a hurry. "Yes I do, why? What happened? Are you hurt?" Twilight asked like a twenty questions machine. "Does it say anything about dark clouds that consume you with this... this... Dark matter type thing?" Rainbow Dash asked stuttering. "I haven't even read the whole book yet, I have no idea." Twilight replied. Rainbow Dash then leaped in and started going through the journal of the Princess's. As she was going through the book, she began walking around the main floor of the library. As she was reading a page, she sat down on the platform for the horse head statue in the middle of the room, then she laid the book on the platform. As he did that, the horse head risen, and a small compartment was visible on the front of it. Twilight and Rainbow Dash stood there, stunned by what they just witnessed, just as Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie walked through the door. "What in the world is going on in here?" Applejack instantly asked. "We... we..." Rainbow Dash couldn't comprehend what in Equestria was going on. Twilight then opened the compartment and a small book was inside, all alone and covered in webs. Twilight took the book and read the cover... "The Equestrian Secret" She read. Everypony in the room was star-struck and didn't know what to say. "M-maybe this book has the information I need about the cloud that attacked me." Rainbow said without thinking. "Cloud? That attacked you?" Rarity asked in disbelief. "Uh, it's a very long story, I just need to know what it was all about..." Rainbow Dash explained. She then flipped through a few pages and found a picture that looked exactly like the cloud that attacked her. She then began to read the description about the strange cloud. "Uh... Back in ancient Equestria, these clouds were found everywhere when an evil mare known as Pandora ruled the land, The princess's parents sacrificed their own lives to stop Pandora but the clouds were rumored to one day roam again when Pandora gained enough power to release herself from her dark tomb. The only way to stop such a disaster is to assemble the objects of darkness in the middle of Equestria..." Rainbow Dash read. "Well where is the middle of Equestria?" Applejack asked in a hurried tone. Twilight then walked over to her bed and pulled a map out from underneath. "Hmmm... It seems that back then, the eastern side of Ponyville was known as the middle of Equestria." She replied. "But what on earth is the objects of darkness?" Rarity asked. Pinkie pie pulled out a necklace that was pure black. "Hey, this wasn't what I had last night!" Pinkie complained. Fluttershy's mysterious raven friend came swooping through the door and sat itself on her back. "U-uhm... T-this mysterious raven started s-staring at me yesterday..." Fluttershy calmly said. "And the resources my client told me to get all turned black and dark!" Rarity said. "Maybe this dark orb is one of the objects..." Applejack replied. "Well then, we need to get to the east of Ponyville!" Twilight said. As soon as they stepped outside, they could tell that they needed to hurry. The sky was filled with dark clouds that were all making demented noises and twirling around. This sight made Rainbow Dash want to pass out, but she had to keep moving. The reached the eastern side of Ponyville where a statue of Princess Celestia had her hoof out. "To stop this, I-I think the book said to place the objects on her hoof!" Rainbow Dash commanded.
