chapter 1: Bring forth the dark!
There was a cool breeze through the castle walls, with a slight howl of the wind, as it carried up to the balcony, where princess Celestia and princess Luna stood together. "Are you sure your ready?" asked princess celestia, "you do not have to suddenly bring forth full darkness if you cant, we can work towards it" she spoke reassuringly. Princess luna hesitated for a moment, but she decided she had to prove it, to herself and to her sister, that she had not lost her touch. "its okay sister, i assure you, i can do this."
Princess Luna focused on the horizon, and slowly hovered, focusing intently on the moon behind the horizon, she flew upwards bringing forth the moon, and beginning the night, in a quiet hush, the land set peacefully and the stars lit up the sky far more than before, with streaks of red, blue and purple, flying across the sky, with great clarity, showing the beautiful night sky for what it truly was, as it had not been shown for over a thousand years. princess celestia stared in awe, and princess luna softly landed beside her, "beautiful, is it not sister?" asked luna "it is truly wonderful." answered celestia, both staring at their kingdom.
the darkest night
A soft hush fell upon ponyville, as those that were awake, looked up to the sky too admire the beauty of the night sky, ponys leaned out of their windows, and lay on the cobblestone roads, watching the sky.
The apple family lay atop their barn, looking at the sky, all hypnotized, nopony dared commentate with fear of ruining the moment, the four of them and winona felt somewhat fulfilled.
Twilight sparkle sat atop her balcony with spike and owlowiscious,also silently staring at the sky,admiring the stars.
Everypony in ponyville seemed to be enjoying the new brought dark. well, everybody except fluttershy.
Fluttershy was cowering in bed, motionless and frightened, of the darker dark, her eyes dartingfrom left to right and breathing softly under the covers, causing a heat under the blankets, making her sweat, but she was not focused on that, she was worried about what could be lurking in her dark corners, or under her bed, and the more she thought about it, the more she scared herself, her mind could not stop speaking, "eep! what was that! did that shadow just move? what is that sound? is it angel? IS IT A TIMBERWOLF?! AHHHHHHHHH!" Fluttershy couldnt take it anymore, she jumpedout of bed, spread her wings and flew out the window, as fast as she could, deciding where she was going, as she was going there, "ohmy! what am i going to do? i cant go home, im sure the criters are safe, but im not! and im so scared!" fluttershy had slowed down and was far above the ground, "I know! ill go sleep with rainbow dash!", she looked towards cloudsdale, and flew there in a hurry.
Rainbow dash sat atop her window cill, looking up at the moon, inspiring her to be a wonderbolt, when she heard a faint, high pitched voice distantly call, "rainbow dash, rainbow dash!" she looked around and saw a yellow and pink pegasus, flying towards her fast. "uhhhh, fluttershy?" Rainbow dash spoke to herself, when the pony came closer, she realised it was infact fluttershy, and she also noticed that her eyes were closed, and she was not slowing down. "fluttershy!" rainbow dash cheered, "your going fast!" fluttershy didnt hear her, and looked up "AAHHHHH!" CRASH
they both fell inside rainbow dashes house, OOF, "oh my, sorry rainbow dash, i was just flying so fast and i was so scared and-" "hey!, you were going so fast fluttershy!" said rainbow dash cutting off flutershys ranter, what has got you going so fast?". Fluttershy hesitated for a moment, thinking about how embarassing it would be, telling rainbow dash, the bravest pony ever, that she was afraid of the dark! she hesitated for a moment, but remembered that rainbow dash is a good friend, and would understand.
" i was scared of the dark rainbow, tonight is darker than normal" rainbow opened her eyes, confused, but then again not surprised, " how can you be scared of the dark on a night like this" said rainbow dash motioning at the sky, fluttershy looked up, and for the first time, noticed the beauty of the night sky, she was amazed, but then that changed quickly when her mind decided to make her remember that she couldnt go home because of the boogiepony. "rainbow dash?" asked flutteshy "yeah?" said rainbow dash "can i sleep with you tonight?" she said curling her legs in the air and blushing with embarassment. Rainbow dash was caught off guard by such an unusual request, but then thought why not? "sure thing fluttershy, thats what friends are for.". fluttershy was so delighted at rainbow dashes answer, she flew down and gave her a hug, "thank you so much rainbow dash!", and again, rainbow dash was caught of guard, and started to blush "no worries fluttershy, d-dont mention it"
it was later on into the night, and fluttershy and rainbow dash setteled into bed, "thanks again rainbow" said fluttershy "dont metion it" said rainbow dash with a yawn. fluttershy crinkled her nose and reached for her bunny angel. "ANGEL" screamed fluttershy, " how could i have forgotten?!" Rainbow awoke with a start, "whats wrong fluttershy?" "my bunny angel! i left her at home!" she feared for angels safety, how could she have been so selfish? rainbow dash shook her head and yawned again, "im sure shes fine, and if she isnt she probably wouldve gone to raritys for help." reassured rainbow dash "but what if that didnt happen! what if angel needed my and i was up here and she needed help, what ifthe boogiepony got her!" said fluttershy uncontrolably, "there is no boogiepony fluttershy" said rainbow "thats just some childish story, like old lady with the missing horseshoe, or the headless horse." "EEEEEEP! THE HEADLESS HORSE!" fluttershy ranted uncontrollably and unconsolably, until she was on the verge of tears. rainbow couldnt stand to see fluttershy like this, "what if we go back and get bunny, then will you be happy?"
