//-------------------------------------------------------// My Little Miracle -by xXThe Derp MasterXx- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 1: Something small //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 1: Something small "What is it mother? Can I open it now?" Silver Bell looked anxiously at her mother "Please! Just this one, I promise!" "Now, now Silver Bell. You have to wait to open your gift" her mother, Caramel, replied. She lifted the box up onto the shelf. "But I can't wait any more! I really want to see it. A birthday only comes once a year, after all!" Silver Bell said persuasively. Just then there was a knock on the door. Caramel trotted over to the door and was surprised to see a Telegram pony. "Are you Miss Caramel Flare? I have a message from the Trottingham Hospital"-the messanger handed her a message-"Good day!" Caramel carefully read the note, and a sad expression befell her face. She walked over to Silver Bell and just looked at her. A minute passed before the pony's teary brown eyes closed and she began quietly sobbing. "Mother? What's wrong-" Silver Bell looked down "-did I do something wrong?" she looked up again at her mother. "No sweetie. It's not you, it's the hospital. They won't take you in as a patient. Neither will Las Pegasus, or Manehatten, even Ponyville won't take you!" Caramel sobbed harder Silver Bell looked at her mother "So they won't help me get better? You said they would make me better!" Silver Bell looked at her mother, with teary eyes "Will anypony help me get better?" "Sweetie, Canterlot Hospital offered to help. But it's too far away. No other hospital can or will help you get better"-Caramel stopped sobbing and looked at her daughter-"I'm sorry. I know I said they would help you, but I don't want you worry. This is for mommy to think about, alright?" Silver Bell looked at her mother "Okay, can I open my present now?" "Of coarse sweetie. I think you'll like this" Caramel grabbed the box from the shelf Silver Bell limped over to the table and sat down, ready to open her gift. The shiny red wrapping and yellow ribbon revealed a small silver necklace with a silver bell attached to it. "It's just something small" Caramel replied A second chance A few weeks later another message came in the mail. Caramel read through the letter carefully. She was overjoyed to read the Princess Twilight Sparkle had caught wind of her daughter's dilemma and offered her a ticket to Ponyville. "Mother, I wrote a letter to the new princess asking for help." Silver Bell said. "Oh, sweetie, we can't just ask strangers for help. Let alone a princess! Why didn't you tell me first?" Caramel replied, looking angrily at her daughter. "It's just not right." Silver Bell looked at her mother "You said the princesses could help anypony" she looked sadly at her mother "I just wanted to help. Maybe Princess Twilight can fix my leg, so I can go back to school and playing with the other kids. And you can stop worrying about me." Caramel looked down at her little daughter, and smiled "You, my little miracle, have a pure heart. Something like that can never be hurt or taken away. Many ponies have a pure heart, but it gets lost. You must keep that, no matter what. Even when everything is dark and gloomy, your heart will light the way" she bent down and hugged Silver Bell. "Mommy, I love you" was all Silver Bell knew to say. And so the mother and daughter planned their trip to Ponyville. They planned what they would bring, where they would stay, and how long they thought they would need to stay. Caramel helped Silver Bell helped pack her bag, and the two chatted almost nonstop about their trip for the next few days. "Oh, I'm so excited!!" Silver Bell said as her mother tucked her in the night before their departure. Caramel chuckled "I'm sure you can wait 'til morning. Now you need to rest up so you're not tired when we meet the princess" Caramel kissed her daughter and turned off the light, then trotted out of Silver Bell's room. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 2: Meeting Princess Twilight //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 2: Meeting Princess Twilight The train left early in the morning, at 6:30 to be exact. They planned to be there just in time for lunch. "We'll be there really soon, alright sweetie?"-Caramel looked anxiously at her daughter-"How are you feeling? Do you feel motion sick? Is your leg hurting?!" Silver Bell looked at her mother and laughed "Mommy! I feel fine. Just stop worrying, okay?" Suddenly the train stopped and as Caramel looked out the window she realized they had arrived. They were really here, in the famous Ponyville, home of the Elements of Harmony and their bearers. "It's even more grand then I thought it would be!" Caramel exclaimed. She scooped up her daughter and her bag and excitedly trotted to the purple alicorn's house. Knock knock! "Your majesty? It is us, Caramel and Silver Bell Flare!" "Oh! Come right in!" Twilight replied. She hurriedly galloped down her stairs but had mis-calculated her steps and not-so-majestically fell to the floor. "Your majesty! Are you hurt? Oh, don't tell me you're hurt! Oh I can't bear the thought that I killed the princess!!" Caramel cried out. She felt really awkward standing around while the princess stumbled to her hooves, but knew it would be strange to help her. Silver Bell limped over to Twilight (once she stood up again) and hugged her "Thank you for helping me! I'm sorry my mommy is acting so weird. She's just..excited!" Twilight looked down at the grey filly "Oh, you have nothing to be worried about. I'll have you up and galloping in no time! But first you need to have some lunch. Daisy sandwiches and hay soup okay?" Caramel looked at the princess uneasily, but when the princess smiled at her she smiled back and walked into the house. Healing Wounds The next day the treatment began. Twilight began by examining Silver Bell's leg. She began examining it but ran into a problem "I think I'll have to take a closer look-" she removed the tightly wrapped cast that Silver Bell had been wearing "-that should do it. I hope you don't mind." Caramel looked at her "Of coarse not, it's all in the treatment plan." So twilight did this every day for a week. She did a special healing spell (that sadly works very slowly) and checked her reflexes. At first Caramel wouldn't leave her daughter, but eventually Twilight persuaded her to go see the town and soon Twilight was spending all her time with the young filly, each day the filly was getting better. While this made Twilight happy, she knew eventually they would return home, leaving her alone once more. She loved the filly's bright spirit and cheerfulness. Silver Bell always looks for something nice in anypony, which of coarse made Twilight feel better. On one particular rainy day Caramel had fallen asleep and Twilight was just reading a book. The young filly stared blankly out the window, lost in a trance. Twilight stopped reading and just watched the young filly "What are you thinking about?" "Everything, I guess. I remember when I used to play in the rain. Splashing in puddles, stomping in mud. I always had fun in the rain" the young filly looked down, closed her eyes, and sighed "I miss playing in the rain. And in the sun, and the cloudy days too." Twilight looked at the disheartened young filly "You don't have much more of a wait. Soon you'll be able to go back to your home, school, playing with your friends" she was very surprised to see the normally happy pony so sad. "Will I really? I don't feel any different now then when I got here. It's probably hard to imagine, but even a happy pony like me can have a rainy day" Silver Bell looked gloomily out the window into the dark grey sky, and laid down. She sighed again before closing her eyes and falling asleep. "I know you're getting better. You're just too young to tell" she covered the filly in a blanket and kissed her on the forehead, before settling back in her chair to continue reading. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 3: The only way //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 3: The only way The next day Twilight woke up to find Caramel in the living room. "Get up! Silver Bell, WAKE UP!!" Twilight was puzzled. When she approached Caramel, she realized Silver Bell was unconscious "Hold on Caramel! She slipped into unconsciousness in her sleep. But I don't know why, she can't just pass out! Did you give her anything?" Caramel looked angrily at the princess "Why would I? She slept like an angel all night. When I woke up I came to check on her and she was like this!" "I'm sorry" Twilight said "But she needs a doctor, and quickly!" They rushed Silver Bell to the Ponyville hospital, where they anxiously waited for news on the little filly's condition. After hours of anxiety filled pacing, Nurse Redheart came to the ponies and told them how Silver Bell hit her head which caused her to pass out, and left a bruise on her head. "She'll be fine. But she's still unconscious, so be careful with her." They two tired ponies brought her home. Twilight offered to stay up and watch her so Caramel could get some sleep "No, I should stay up. I haven't exactly..been taking care of so much since we came here. She's my filly, and my responsibility. You need your rest anyhow" Caramel replied. She insisted on staying up, even when they both knew they needed rest. Caramel stayed with her daughter and watched her for a few hours, but found her daughter was still not awake. She tried to gently arouse her, with no luck. She called out her name, and even dabbed her face with a wet towel. After her daughter lay still unresponsively, she ran to get Twilight. She told Twilight what was happening, and she rushed down to the little filly. There she lay, still unresponsive. Twilight grabbed a book and began searching through it, hoofing her way through page after page. "I know what to do! But it won't be easy" Twilight said. Caramel looked at the page with the answers, and then Twilight. "Are you sure? Is there an easier way?" Twilight nodded her head "This is the only way." The only way (continued) Twilight put the little filly on her kitchen table. She had Caramel read the instructions to her step by step "Step 1: place injured pony on a clean flat surface and make sure there is lots of space for ingredients." "Step 2: Mix 1 bottle of herbal rub and basic cough medicine (1 teaspoon)" Caramel read "Good, what's next?" Twilight looked at her assistant before turning back to her work. "Step 3: Place tea leaves in herb/cough rub." Caramel looked anxiously at Twilight "Okay. Then..?" Caramel looked at Twilight "Oh, right. Step 4: mix poly...polygram.." "Polygramhic Oat Mix?" Twilight replied "Rookie mistake" Caramel returned to the book "Mix that stuff with basic oatmeal." Twilight followed these steps and then combined her two mixtures. The thick bubbly liquid that the mixtures became looked disgusting, as Caramel put it, but was their only option. Twilight poured the thick liquid down the filly's throat. Silver Bell coughed and groaned, which according to Twilight meant it had worked! "What, where am I? AM I DEAD!?" the young filly sat straight up and was relieved to see her mother and Twilight, her new best friend. "Thank you for saving me" Silver Bell hugged Twilight's neck. "I'm so glad you helped me!" Caramel hugged the both of them. The treatment of Silver Bell continued for the next few days. She eventually got the pony to stop limping, and eventually corrected her leg issues. Silver Bell was overjoyed to be better, and her mother was glad to see her little filly healthy again. Author's Note I made up "polygramhic" as a hard word to read. It isn't real, don't worry. (unless of course I find a better word to use later on) //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 4: The Healing Process //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 4: The Healing Process The time finally had come. Twilight was saying goodbye to her new companions. She was relieved to had made Silver Bell better, but all at once was sad she had to leave. "Goodbye" Silver Bell was so choked up she could hardly speak, "I, I'm gonna miss you!" she hugged Twilight again. Caramel just looked at Twilight before she jumped onto her and hugged her tightly, she then whispered into her ear "Thank you, for everything" The engineer called to ponies departing for Trottingham, and the ponies looked at Twilight and said goodbye in perfect unison. Twilight watched the train drive away, and just as she turned around to head home she heard something. Even though the station was empty, she could hear a voice. A voice saying something she never forgot. I can do anything right, even though I am so small because I believe in myself I have no limits, now, because I know, I am loved A journey to remember As Silver Bell saw the station grow smaller and smaller, she closed her eyes and hoped Twilight was alright. She felt blissful, and just then she heard her mother gasp. She looked at her mother, then looked at her flank. There, where it was once bare, a golden heart lay.
