Zorphius: The pony from the sky
As the bright morning sun rose up into the sky, its rays shone through the windows of every house and shop in Ponyville. The sun's rays also made their way to the cottage of Fluttershy, and made their way into her bedroom. She woke up as the light of the sun pulled her mind back into reality, and grogilly got up and blinked. After a minute last nights event rushed into her mind like a torrent, and she started to worry about the mysterious pony.I wonder if he is awake she thiught to her self. I guess I'll have to check. She walked into the guest room to find that the pony was still unconscious, if not dead. What if he is dead? she started to worry. How can I possibly explain a dead body!? As she started to panick, she knew she would only have one way of knowing. Nervously walking up to the body, she placed her ear on the stallion's chest. She heard a stady pulse, and sighed in relief. I guess I was just worrying too much, like always. But she still didn't know what to do. Maybe I'll just wait for him to wake up? Just then there was a knock on the door.
"I wasn't expecting any visitors this morning. I wonder who it is?"
Fluttershy walked out of the room and opened the front door. She found to her surprise none other than Twilight Sparkle, the town librarian and a close friend.
"Hi Fluttershy" greeted the purple unicorn.
"Why hello Twilight, I wasn't expecting a visit from you! What brings you so far from your library?" Fluttershy teased.
"Well, I was just a little worried about you." Twilight responded. "I saw a meteor fall near your house, but I guess you wern't hurt or anything, so it must have fell in the woods."
"Well actually, I saw that meteor too. When I looked at the meteormafter it crashed, it turned out to be a pony! He's unconscious and I don't know what to do!" Fluttershy said as she started to panick again.
"Maybe we should take him to the hospital?" asked Twilight.
Fluttershy mentally facehoofed herself. Of course! I should take him to the hospital! I was so panicked that I didn't even think about it! "Yeah... I didn't think about that." Fluttershy admitted.
"Well, I guess we should do that right away, then. Where is he?"
"He's in the guest room." Replied Fluttershy. "I carried him there."
They walked into the guest room, and Twilight quizically glanced at the unconscious body.
"Are you sure he's not dead?" she asked.
"Yes, I checked his pulse a few minutes before you came by." Fluttershy responded.
"I can carry him with my magic. He seems pretty heavy. How did you even carry him all the way into the house?" Twilight asked.
"Believe me when I say it wasn't easy." Fluttershy sighed.
Twilight proceeded to levitate the stallion with a pink aura. Within 30 minutes they were in the hospital, with Twilight asking the doctor questions.
"Is he alright?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, his Vitals appear to be fine." assured the doctor. "He just seems to be in a state of shock. It may take a few days for him to wake up. What happened to him anyways?" The doctor asked the two.
Twilight and Fluttershy exchanged glances. They couldn't just say that Fluttershy found him where a meteor landed!
"Umm... he got hit on the head by a loose branch." Fluttershy lied. It was almost obvious that she was lying, but the doctor was completely oblivious to it and resumed his inspection of his new patient.
"I'll tell you two if there are any changes to him or if he wakes up." Said the doctor.
"Thank you." said Twilight on their way out.
After that they discussed the weather and recent events until they had to part ways. They said their goodbyes, and went their own ways. By this time it ways almost noon and Fluttershy was surprised by this.
"I need to check on the animals!" She exclaimed.
She rushed to the everfree forest, worried that one of the animals would coincidentally be missing. Of course, this was just her being anxious, and all animals were found to be accounted for. With this settled, Fluttershy tried to push away her worries of the pony from last night. Why am I so worried about him anyways? she thought. She didn't even know his name, and yet here she was, worrying about him, even though she knew he was
Perfectly fine. You need to stop worrying so much Fluttershy, you always worry too much she scolded herself. But, this worry was natural as nature itsself, and she knew that no matter how hard she tried, she would never get rid of ghis
Worryful nature in her. Glancing out side she realized that Luna had already raised the moon. I didn't even notice the time pass by she thought. She went to her bed, and despite all her worries, was able to comfortably drift to sleep.
Meanwhile at the Golden Oaks Library...
"Spike, send this letter to Princess Celestia!" Twilight said to her assistant dragon.
"What's with the sudden letter, Twilight? You don't need to send another report about friendship for another 2 weeks!" Replied the dragon.
"Fluttershy found a unconscious pony outside last night. She says he fell from the sky." Responded Twilight.
"The sky!?" Exclaimed Spike.
"Yes, that's what she said. Now just send the letter, Spike. The Princess needs to know about this immediatly!"
Zorphius: The pony from the sky
It was three days after the crazy meteor incident, and Fluttershy had nearly forgotten the pony if she wasn't so worried about him. As such it was no surprise that she flew at a speed that would amaze RainbowDash to the hospital when ahe heard from Twilight that he had woken up. She arrives at the hospital to find that Twilight was already there.
"How did you get here ahead of me?" Fluttershy said in between her extremely indignant pants.
"Umm... well I teleported here." answers Twilight, with a look that showed no effort in hiding her curiosity to Fluttershy's bizzare behavior.
"Teleport!? Why didn't you teleport me!?" Exclaimed Fluttershy, nearly forgetting her timidness.
"I was going to aak if you wanted me to," responded Twilight, still puzzled by this undoubtly unnatural behavior of Fluttershy's. "Bit then you zoomed of with more panic than anypony I've ever seen. What's with the sudden behavior anyways?" questioned Twilight.
Fluttershy found herself at a dead end on this question too. Why am I so worried about this pony anyways? She thought, then realized she didn't answer Twilight's question.
"I'm... not quite sure myself." Fluttershy nervously replied.
"Let's talk about it later. Right now we need see the doctor." The purple unicorn said.
/In the hospital/
"Doctor, how is he?" asks Twilight, concern obvious in her voice.
"He is in full health and is ready to leave the hospital aside from a single... problem." the doctor answered hesitantly.
"Problem?" asks Twilight.
"He has a rather... severe case of amnesia. He can't remember a thing." says the doctor.
"He can't remember a thing!? Not even a thing!?" Exclaims Fluttershy.
"Yes. We've tried everything we could think of. We tried psychotherapy, spells, shock therapy..."
"Shock Therapy!?" Gasps Fluttershy, horrified that the doctors would use such a violent method.
"Perhaps you two would like to see him?" says the doctor, trying to change the subject.
"Yes, that would be very nice." answers Twilight.
/Patient room 014/
"He's in here." says the doctor. "He is very confused right now, mostly because he has no memory." he adds.
Of course Sherlock, what did you expect. Twilight sarcastically thought.
They open the door to find the black stallion sitting upright in his bed, staring blankly at the wall.
"Is he... alright?" Twilight questions.
"I think he is trying to regain his memories." informs the doctor.
The stallion realizes that there are other people in the room, and speaks with a voice that seemed to belong to a pony in his early 20's.
"Hello doctor. Who are those two..." He trails off, and the two mares trade confused glances.
"They're called ponies." the doctor reminds him.
"Oh right! So who are those two ponies?" asked the stallion, with a face that indicated that this happened all the time.
Dear Celestia! The doctor wasn't lying he has a severe case of amnesia! Twilight thinks to herself.
"These two are Twilight and Fluttershy. They brought you to the hospital." The doctor says with a smile.
"I guess I should thank you two. The doctor told me I got hit by a branch?" The stallion asks the two.
But before the two can answer, an all to familiar pink party pony pops her head out of the flower vase next to the bed.
"OOOOOH! AreyouthenewponyIheardthatisinthehospitalbecauseImeanyouhaveanewfaceandIknowyouhaveanewfacebecauseIknoweveryone'sfacebutyoursandnowIcanthrowawelcomepartyforyoubecauseyou'renew!!!" Exclaims Pinky Pie.
"I suppose I am new here." replies the black pony, not at all surprised by the fact that she had come out of a flower vase.
"Pinkie Pie, I'm afraid that he has a severe case of amnesia and he can't remember anything. He might not really be prepared for a party." Twilight says, still startled by her sudden appearance.
"Can't Remember ANYTHING!!? ImeanIforgetthingssometimeslikewhereIputmycupcakesandstufflikethatbutneverEVERYTHING!!" Says Pinkie Pie, all while bouncing around the amnesia-stricken stallion.
"Yes, he only woke up 5hours ago. I'm think he should stay away from parties and anything harsh for a while." the doctor interjects, more than startled by Pinkie's appearance.
"I assure you doctor that I am perfectly fine aside from the fact that I have no memory of who I was." the black pony says.
"Not remembering who you are is a pretty serious problem, Mr...." Twilight trails off before she asks,"Doctor did you give him a name?"
"Well... no." says the doctor.
"Well I guess you can just call me Shade." says the black pony (A.K.A Shade)
Everybody turned around and looked at him.
"Black coat... Shade... kinda just seemed to fit." says shade.
Twilight speaks up. "Thats not too bad of a name. Nice to meet you Shade."
"Um... I think it's a good name too." Fluttershy whispers.
"YAY!! Let's celebrate his new name!!!" yelled Pinkie Pie.
"Remember Ms.Pinkie, no parties." the doctor reminded her.
"Awwww...." the party pony whined.
"I suppose Shade is well enough to leave the hospital. Just make sure he has plenty of rest and MAKE SURE HE STAYS AWAY FROM PARTIES!!" he reminded the three."
"Thank you doctor. We'll make sure he gets plenty of rest." assures Twilight.
As the four ponies leave, the doctor calls out to a nurse out in the hallway.
"Can I help you, doctor?" says the nurse.
"Yes, I need you to clean up this room. It's most recent occupant just left the hospital."
"Yes doctor."
As the nurse pulls off the sheets the doctor mumbles to himself.
"He certainly was an interesting patient..."
"Why is that, doctor?" asks the nurse.
"I was just thinking to myself." he says. If I am correct which I always am, his coat was a natural black color. That trait fied out hundreds of years ago. He pondered and finally decided that it must have resurfaced, which was not common, but it wasn't surprising either. After reaching this conclusion, he realises that he is behind schedule and rushes off to the next patient.
Back to the four ponies.
"AndsoonetimeImeetthisnewponyandIjustgasplikeIalwaysdowhenIseeanewponybevausehewasanewpony!andthenIaskedifhewasnewbutIalreadyknewthathewasbecauseIknoweveryone'sfaceinponyvillebecause..." Pinkie Pie was talking a mile a second, and Twilight and Fluttershy had tired looks on there faces. Shade, however, seemed to be able to keep up to the conversation.
In a way I'm starting to get jealous that he has amnesia. Twilight thought to herself.
"How does he not get tired of all that talking?" Fluttershy asks Twilight. Fluttershy looked like she wanted to run all the way to the other side of equestria, lock herself in a sound-proof room and plug up her ears.
"I don't know Fluttershy, I really don't know." Twilight replied, then followed woth a tired sigh. Yes, she was friends with Pinkie. Yes, Pinkie talked like this every day. But no matter how much she tries, Twilight just CANNOT get used to all that talking.
"...SothenIdecidetothrowasurprisepartybecausecomeonitsHoocesdayandthatsenoughreasonformetothrowaparty!SothenIthrowapartyandeveryonehasagreattim e!!" Pinkie Pie finally concludes, then asks something that no one had thought about. "By the way, where do you live?"
Twilight and Fluttershy stop in their tracks, and Shade and Pinkie Pie keep on walking for a few steps before they notice their friends stopped and turn around nearly identically, before Shade asks, "What's wrong?"
"Well... you don't remember where you live, right?" asks Twilight.
"Yeah, I have no clue where I live." he says.
"And you have no idea where to go, right?" Twilight continues.
"Yup."
"So, you're gonna have to stay at someone's house, probably one of us three's." She says.
"OOOH I know I know!! He can stay at my house!!" Pinkie Pie exclaims. "This is freat!! We can stay up late and tell scary stories and do pillow fights..."
Twilight interjected before Pinkie Pie went off into another hour of endless talking. "But Pinkie Pie, I thought your house doesn't have a guest room."
"Oh yeah..." she realizes, suddenly her mood deflated like a flat baloon.
"I don't think that he'll like sleeping in my library." says Twilight.
"So that leaves..." everyone slowly turn towards Fluttershy who becomes instantly nervous with all the attention she was recieving.
"I-I-I guess he c-can stay at my house, I m-mean I found him near m-my house anyways." Fluttershy manages to chocke out between her stuttering.
"I guess stayingnear where you found me would be a good idea. Maybe somebody who knows me will come looking for me." says Shade.
I just hope they anyone looking for him isn't some kind of giant evil alien or something. Twilight thought with a shudder.
"Well with that settled, thank you Ms.Fluttershy for allowing me to stay at your house." Shade says, suddenly polite.
"You're w-welcome Shade. But please don't call me Ms. Just Fluttershy is okay." Fluttershy says, a small smile on her face.
"Yeah that was kinda... weird for you to be all polite all the sudden. You can take off the for our names too." says Pinkie Pie.
"Oh my look at the time! I need to close the library! See you guys tomorrow!" Twilight says before she gallops off in the direction of the library.
"Oh no! I need to go help Mr. and Mrs.Cake! I guess I'll be seeing you guys tomorrow too!" yells Pinkie Pie before she zooms off in a pink blur.
"Bye guys!" Shade yells after them and looks at Fluttershy. "So, what do we do now?" he asks the timid mare.
"I d-don't have anything planned t-today, so I-I guess we j-just go home." She quietly replies.
"So where is you're house?" the black pony asks her.
"Oh, right outside of everfree forest." Fluttershy answers.
"Everyfree forest?" Shade asks.
"It's a forest that's near the outskirts of the town." the yellow mare replies.
"Why do you live so far away from the town? Isn't it inconvenient?" questions Shade.
"It is a little inconvenient, but it's the best way to live close to my animal friends." Fluttershy replies, enjoying the oppertunity to talk about the her favorite topic.
After she talks about some of her favorite animals, especially her pet bunny Angel, they arrive at her cottage. The sun was nearly gone, and the soon night would befall Equestria.
"So where did you find me?" asked Shade.
"Not very far from my cottage actually. Right about... there." Fluttershy pointed with a hoof. By now she was no longer afraid of Shade, and she was sure that he had really forgotten his memory, and that this wasn't just some act.
Suddenly a grumble could be heard, which surprised Fluttershy, and turned ti the source of the sound.
"I think that my stomach is hungry." Shade replied, slightly embarrased.
"Well I'll get dinner ready, then." Fluttershy replied as she trotted into the house.
Soon dinner was ready, and the two were sitting at a table, eating a salad.
After eating in silence for awhile, Fluttershy decided to speak up, trying to start a conversation.
"Soo... how's the salad?" she asks.
"Not bad. Definitely better than the food at the hospital." Shade comments.
Fluttershy giggles, causing Shade to look at her quizically.
"What? It's true." he says. "Now it's my turn to ask a question. How did I lose my memory?"
Fluttershy tenses up at this question, and Shade notices her do so.
"Are you hiding something from me?" He asks.
"N-n-no!" the yellow pegasus stammers. "Well... maybe."
"Why can't you tell me?" asks Shade.
"You w-would-dn't b-believe me." Fluttershy replies.
"It csn't be that rediculous!" says Shade. "Just tell me."
"W-well..." Fluttershy pauses and takes and deeply inhales. "I saw you fall from the sky!" she blurts out
Shade blinks, then says something that Fluttershy did not expect. "I take it that that is not normal." he says.
"Of course it's not normal! What exactly is normal for you!?" exclaim the yellow pony.
"I don't know! I can't even remember my name, and you expect me to know whats normal!?"
Fluttershy startles, as she did nit expect the sudden outburst.
His loss of memory must be more stressful than I thought. realizes the pegasus.
"I-I'm sor-ry, I d-din't know that y-you were s-so stressed about-t it." apologizes Fluttershy.
Shade sighs, and the is silent for a moment. "More than you can imagine." he says. "I'm just trying to keep everyone from being worried. It's the least I can do for you rescuing me."
"O-oh... it wasn't really a rescue, a-all I did was find you oitside..." Fluttershy says with a blush.
"It means a lot to me." Shade says with a serious face.
An awkward silence ensues, with both of them clueless with what to say.
"Oh my! Look at the time!" Fluttershy exclaims. "I need to go to bed!"
"I guess it's about bedtime." Shade agrees.
After Fluttershy shows Shade his room, she enters her own room, and snuggles up into the bed. Soon, sleep drufts into her mind, and she is fast asleep.
