//-------------------------------------------------------// Special Delivery -by VoiceOfPikachu- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 He hoped so much that he could muster the courage he needed to carry out with his delivery. He takes in a deep breath, relaxing his fragile wings as he gently lands on the floor below him. His cream-coloured fur is promptly dusted off as he fiddles with his cute hat that sits atop his head, making sure that it is perfectly straight. He brushes his crimson mane to make sure it looks nice. He then proceeds to fly out of his home in Cloudsdale with a letter in his saddlebag. This was a very special letter. Perhaps the most important letter he has ever had to deliver. And it was from himself to a very special pony. The most special, spectacular, amazing, beautiful pony he had ever laid his emerald eyes on. The light yellow stallion's wings began to give out under him as he thought about the cerulean mare's horrifying reaction to his inquiry - the one that was neatly bundled into the cute little letter. A simple question, yes, but a very nerve racking one; for him, at least. But it wasn't just a question. It was something that would determine his fate... His hooves landed gracefully on the soft white clouds. He was in front of a pony's home. The special somepony's home. HER home. He nervously lifted his right forehoof and knocked quietly on the door, hoping the pony that lived there was home, and at the same time, a part of him wished she wasn't there, so he wouldn't have to feel the terror of the thought of rejection, which a part of him was sure was going to happen. He heard the sound of hoofsteps coming down some stairs. They seemed to take both forever and seconds to get to the door. He bit his lip and felt sweat begin to drip down from his forehead. Suddenly, the door to the house swung open with a creak that made his nervousness even worse, knowing that she was there, standing in front of him. Oh, he must have looked like a wreck, even though he tidied himself before leaving. A blue pegasus with an aurora of colours in her mane and tail stood in the doorway with a "happy-to-see you smile" on her face. She looked the colt up and down. "Did Daring-Do make another book? Oh boy, I can't wait! Give it to me!" She said excitedly, flapping her wings violently as she hovered in front of him. "Um, actually, Ms. Dash... I'm not here to give you a book." The colt could hardly believe he was even able to speak, with his voice cracking in his throat and his words coming out very shaky. He opened his mouth again hesitantly, trying not to blush as his wings gave out underneath him, spreading their full length, allowing her to see his feathers in the bright clear sun. "I-I have a letter for you!" He smiled at her nervously as he dug through his bag and pulled out a letter with a pink envelope. It said "To Rainbow Dash" on it. Rainbow seemed to be disregarding the sudden arch of the colt's wings as he gave her the letter. "Did Pinkie Pie send me another one of her crazy treasure hunt maps? Tell her, for the last time, that I DO NOT want to look for her hidden batch of cupcakes!" Dash demanded, annoyed. Care Package frowned. He didn't know what that was all about, but it seemed to be distracting her, which was both good and bad. "Um, actually, take a closer look. It's not from Pinkie Pie..." Care Package looked down at the ground and picked at the clouds with his hooves. The white poofy clouds fluffed underneath his hooves. Rainbow Dash took another look at the pink letter's address area. It read, "To Rainbow Dash from Care Package". She smiled a funny smirk as she looked at him. "Hehe, If you have something to say to me, why don't you just tell me?" Rainbow's words struck him like lightning. He suddenly forgot how to talk. Rainbow could be stubbornly difficult sometimes, but that was one of the reasons he loved her. Rainbow continued to wait for his response, but only got an unsure "um" from him. "Um-uhh." He said nervously. His mind raced as he searched for the right words to say. "J-Just read it!" He spit anxiously. Rainbow rolled her eyes. He hoped she wouldn't think he was dumb or something. He felt like he was going to fall through the clouds. He wanted to fly away but his wings failed him, and his hooves stayed firmly planted on the cottony clouds. Rainbow opened the letter and unfolded it. She tossed the pink envelope on the floor. Her magenta eyes scanned the letter quickly, but as she read on, she began to read more carefully the sweet words that made her heart beat like a drum. Her eyes softened as she finished reading, and a gentle smile spread across her face. She had never read something so heartfelt before; especially not for her.Her cheeks began to become slightly tinted with pink as she paused and sat there in awe, not knowing what to say. She stared at him, and he stared back at her. His green eyes scanned hers. He felt a glimmer of hope. He couldn't tell what she was thinking about. She seemed to be deep in thought. Her eyes were very clouded. Suddenly she shook her head. He jumped a bit at her sudden movement. Rainbow tackled him. He fell backwards with her on top of him. Her eyes were half lidded and she looked very happy. "Nopony's ever said anything so sweet like that to me." She smiled warmly at him as he grinned back at her. His cheeks were bright red. "I like you too, lover-boy." Rainbow Dash said. But before he could reply, she pressed her lips against his and they shared a sweet kiss. He had won... he had gotten her. Author's Note I hope you liked it! I'm not the best at writing long, long, LONG fics.
