She saw all of the ponies in town cheering for her for her brave actions. “Heavens to Betsy! We knew you had ability, but not that much!” Applejack said with a huge smile on her face, obviously proud of the unicorn’s abilities. “I’m sorry. Please, please don’t hate me,” Twilight said, feeling worried about what they thought of what she had done. “Hate you?” Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity all said at the same time. Then Rarity spoke alone. “Why, whatever do you mean, darling?” Applejack looked at her unicorn friend, confused. “Yeah, ‘cause savin' everypony from danger ain’t usually followed by hatred.” “Well, I know how much you all hated Trixie’s showing off with her magic tricks, and I just thought—” “Whoa, hold on there, Sugarcube,” Applejack interrupted. “What could have possibly led you to think you were showin' off?” “Well, um...” Twilight tried to think of an answer, but found herself with nothing to say. “Listen, Sugar, I don’t know where you got that idea just from savin' Ponyville and all, but that was not showin' off.” “Yeah.” Rainbow Dash came up beside the farm pony. “And Trixie is just some loudmouth trying to make everypony think that she is better than anyone else.” “But, when she was using her magic—” Twilight started. “Oh, she was just trying to prove herself the best, darling,” Rarity stated. “But she was using her magic for the wrong reasons, to purposely try and make us look bad, which seemed to work for some of us.” She chuckled nervously as she tapped her hair with her hoof. Applejack rested a hoof on Twilight’s back. “But you used your magic for a real good reason, to fix a problem. It’s fine to use your magic, but it’s bad to just flaunt it in everyone else’s muzzle. That turns you into a complete jerk like her.” She pointed to the blue unicorn, who began to look nervous. “But that ain’t like you at all, Twilight. And that is what makes you truly ‘Great and Powerful’.” “Really?” A smile grew on Twilight’s face. “Well, duh.” Rainbow Dash answered. “Not to mention how you totally kicked that Ursa’s butt. That was awesome, kinda weird, but awesome!” “Yeah, how did you know what to do with that Ursa Major?” Spike asked Twilight excitedly. “That is exactly what I have been looking up when you came looking for me. After hearing Trixie’s bragging about it, I decided to read a bit about them.” “So it is actually possible to vanquish an Ursa Major?” The purple unicorn shook her head. “That wasn’t an Ursa Major. That was a baby, an Ursa Minor.” “That was just a baby?!” Trixie asked, utterly shocked. “That’s right. And it wasn’t rampaging, it was just cranky because someone woke it up.” Twilight glared at the two unicorns, Snips and Snails, who chuckled nervously. “That explains why her method seemed kinda weird,” Rainbow said quietly to Applejack. Spike started to look nervous. “But if that was just an Ursa Minor, then what’s an Ursa Major like?” Twilight giggled. “Trust me, Spike, you don’t want to know.” Trixie scoffed mockingly at Twilight. “You may have vanquished an Ursa Minor, but you will never have the amazing show stopping ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie!” She stomped her hoof onto the ground and a puff of smoke shot into the air, covering her completely. As the smoke cleared, Trixie was revealed frozen in place and covered by a purple glow. “You aren’t going anywhere, Trixie.” She released the boastful unicorn, who was unprepared to catch herself and fell flat on her stomach. “Not until you clean this mess up.” “Me?” Trixie complained. “Why me?” “Well, let’s say it’s not really for the showing off, but more like for picking on my friends.” “Oh.” Trixie rubbed the back of her neck. Snips and Snails tried to make a break for it, which didn’t go unnoticed as Twilight appeared in front of them. “And you two.” The two unicorns were startled at her sudden appearance. They lowered their heads in shame as Snails spoke first. “Uh, we’re sorry for bringing that Ursa Minor into town.” “Yeah, we-we’re sorry, Miss Sparkle,” Snips said. “We just wanted to see some really cool magic tricks and stuff.” “Yeah, and the way you vanquished that Ursa Minor was awesome! And...” Snips trailed off as he saw Twilight’s disapproving stare. The two of them bowed to the unicorn. “We deserve whatever punishment you give us,” Snails said, hoping their punishment wouldn’t be too harsh. “Well, for starters, you can help Trixie clean up this mess.” She leaned closer to Spike. “And what do you think, Spike? Should I give them number 25? All of them?” “If you promise to give it to me too,” Spike said with a slightly sly smile. Twilight chuckled. “Deal.” As spike moved next to Snips and Snails, Twilights horn began to glow. So far, only Snips, Snails, and Trixie were worried about what was to come. Then the purple unicorn’s magic shot towards the baby dragon and the three unicorns. Each of them saw a mustache appear on their muzzles. “Awesome!” Snips and Snails exclaimed as Spike was just twirling his own. “AAAAAAHHH!!!” Trixie screamed at the top of her lungs as she tugged at the facial hair hanging from her snout. Other ponies in the crowd started laughing. She rushed over to Twilight and practically begged. “Get it off! Get it off, PLEASE!!!” Twilight just frowned. “Maybe you will think twice before picking on anypony. Finish cleaning and it’s gone.” She then shoved her towards a large mess of her trailer. Trixie grumbled to herself as she walked towards the pile of broken wood. “Uh, Twilight.” Twilight turned her head to see Applejack. “Remember what we said about usin’ your magic for the wrong reasons? Payback is one of those.” “Oh.” Twilight lowered her head. “Right. Be right back.” She trotted quickly towards the blue unicorn. “Trixie!” Trixie had been trying to remove her mustache with her magic but was so far unsuccessful. When she heard her name, she groaned in frustration as she spun around to face Twilight. “Hey, I’m sorry about the mustache thing. That was wrong of me to do. I’ll just take it off.” Almost as soon as she said it, the facial hair disappeared. Trixie felt her face with her hoof to be absolutely sure. “Um... thanks?” Trixie felt quite confused, but she turned back towards her destroyed trailer. “Just trying to be less like you.” The purple mare trotted away, back to her friends. She smiled at her friends as she walked down the street towards the library. Spike followed right behind. All the other ponies scattered around, heading to their homes. The mayor however stayed behind to make sure that all the cleaning got done. As the rest of Twilight’s friends headed to their homes, Spike caught sight of the Carousal Boutique and turned to Twilight. “Hey, uh, I’m just going to go visit Rarity for a bit. Maybe she will like my awesome mustache.” He proudly twirled his mustache in his claws. Twilight giggled. “Sure, Spike. Go right ahead. I have a letter to write to the princess.” Then they both went their separate ways.
