//-------------------------------------------------------// Tribune -by PonyEssence- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// My last friend //-------------------------------------------------------// My last friend Spike sat in is chambers within the castle. In his room sat many of the relics from his past. There were many things including past possession of his friends. Those all sat on shelves on the highest parts of the room where only he could touch them. He never regretted his past because there never was a reason for him to so he never looked down on what he had ever done as a kid. Spike room started to shine red and he took a look outside. There he would have a full view of most of the nearby cities and towns. From where he was, he could see Ponyville. Even after thousands of years, Celestia had gone to great extents to make sure the town never became a city. Instead, it sat as small as it was those many years age, yet still prosperous. He took a look a look up into the sky where Cloudsdale was. The city was larger than ever, and held millions of pegasi. The city spewed clouds and rainbows on that day. A quick look to the left gave him a greater view of Equestria. The day was coming to and end and every pony knew it. Spike watched the sun set from outside his chambers from within the castle. He could see the light from the sun dancing on the horizon as Celestia, now eight thousand years old, lead the sun to the ground. The last bits of light could still be seen and the remaining rays shone through the trees in the distance. A bright red aura floated through the sky in the clouds and multi colored rainbows shone from the heavens, showing all the inhabitants of Equestria the proof of it's existence. The rainbows reminded Spike of his past. The colors told his whole life story, and made him aware that he was coming to his end. Only can a dragon read a rainbow when his time has come. As his last day in Equestria came, he took time to reminisce on what had happened in his lifetime from beginning to end. He could remember the times of just being a baby dragon. He lived with Twilight in the castle before moving to ponyville. There he had meet five of the most special ponies to have ever lived. Pinkie Pie came to him first as Red is the first color on this rainbow and pink was the closest to red of the main six. She had been the nicest pony he had ever meet. She always made him special cupcakes just for him. They would always have jewels in them to enhance the flavor. The first recipe she had  ever tried for him included rubies. He could almost feel the warmth of them sliding into his stomach. Rubies had always given a warm feeling. Later Pinkie would try making other types for him to try. Weather it be pearls, amethysts, rhinestones, jades, and emeralds. Spike himself could never understand how she could afford them believed she had resorted to other means of getting fine stones. He could also remember the last thing he had ever given him. It was a simple muffin. Pinkie was old at the time so Spike decide to not eat it the moment she had given it to him. Instead, he had waited until the little gray pegasi had stopped following him with puppy-dog eyes. It wasn't for days. He ate it only, when Pinkie would tell him as she had been the one to tell him to not eat it so he had stuck it into a small airtight box. Later that same week Pinkie past away from old age. Spike had sat behind the rest of the ponies as he was to big to take a seat. When it was time for him to go up and say something, he had only sat up to his full height. From where he was, he could see a white slip of paper sticking out from the gown she was wearing. Spike gave his speech and waited for the funeral to end. Once all was said and done, Spike went to go and inspect the body. Their he found the slip that he had previously seen. The slip turned out to be a full letter to him. The contents made Spike turn to tears as he read on. Dear Spike, I am now telling telling you this... well not telling but writing, this to you because I am gone. I would like for you to take a small bight of that muffin right now... Did you do it yet? Of course you did, I can tell you did from up here. Anyway, moving on, when I first gave you that muffin, you probably saw it as blank and bland or plain and simple. Well, now you know what was in it. There are several types of gems in that muffin and are placed with a specific order. I placed them like that for you alone my little Spike. As you can see, there are several different gem stones in there for you to take a look at. Even though you probably already know what the names of the stones are, i'm going to go ahead and tell you what they are and why I put them there. The first is a piece of Zircon. I put that there to show you to strive to be as smart as you can, to find strength in wisdom. The second is Tourmaline. It has a place to inspire you. Don't let you mind go to waste and be creative. Have fun and don't let the down sides of life get the best of you. Next is a Smokey quarts. I wan't you to be as positive as possible. Like I said before, don't let the worst get the best of you. The last is Apatite. I put this one there last because I always wore that particular one around my neck if you haven't noticed. If I were to ever throw a party and I would get a little nervous, I would just take a look at that and tell myself that I am strong. When I have this, I will never be weak and will never have anything to worry about. I wan't you to be strong now Spike. Be strong for Twilight, be strong for Apple jack, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy. But most of all, stay strong for me. I wont be there anymore to throw you parties when you sad. All I want from you is a big smile to show me off. Please keep the girls in order and don't let the death of me be the death of them. I know times can be dark and lonely, and maybe you feel sad, but remember Spike, that even though I may not always be there with you, think of me, and I will be there to show you that it isn't that bad. There is one thing that makes me happy, and that is to see a smile. Smile one last time before I leave you and make my whole life worth while. Remember Spike, always keep a smile on that face of yours and you will always be my little Spikey Wikey. with happiness and all that is left within me , Pinkie Pie Spike flashed back to reality as he could feel a pull at the strings holding him to life. His thoughts collided and Spike was left staring at the rainbow. The red had turned to gray. The next color on the rainbow was Orange. He was reminded of Applejack.
