Chapter 1: Pilot

I stalked through the shadows, careful to not make any sound. Tonight was the night that this happened again. It happens many times, but I had not done it in so long, it felt great to be back on the hunt.

I finally found my prey. A small, black coated stallion had his back turned to me as he rummaged through some long dead pony’s backpack. I slowly took one step, two steps toward him, taking my lead pipe from my backpack. I brought it above his head, and smashed down, right in the back of the head, knocking him out.

20 Minutes Later

“Fuck.”

That was the first word I muttered as I woke up, chained to the desk. As I looked around I saw some faded posters on the walls, with phrases such as “Be quick, your time is running out!” with a pony carrying books through the hallway. I also saw smaller chairs and desks strewn about. I was in some kind of school.

“You’re goddamn right your time is running out,” somepony said from the shadows, slowly stepping out into view.

The mare that stepped out was scarred, immensely. She had a makeshift eye patch over her right eye, with a deep scar running underneath. Many cuts, scrapes, and burns ran up and down her orange coat. The stranger’s horn had been broken off, leaving a jagged stub, stained with somepony’s blood. She had a short green mane, with white stripes, and matching green eyes. The last thing I noticed was the crosshair shaped Cutie Mark.

There was a clacking as she drew near, and I glanced down towards her hooves. On her right hoof there was some sort of jury-rigged gauntlet, with a knife attached to it.

“Never could figure out how to hold things like you earth ponies could,” the stranger said as she slowly sliced along my forehead.

The extreme pain caused my mind to go blank as I screamed and struggled against my bonds. My limbs went limp as I realized it was no use. I looked at my captor, tears and blood running down my face.

“Name’s Long Strike, by the way, not like it matters to you,” she said.

“Why are you doing this?” I asked, sobbing.

“Because I’m a bad, bad pony,” she said with a laugh, slowly tracing another cut down my forelegs.

I screamed in pain as blood trickled down from the cut.

Slowly, carefully, the mare climbed on top of me. As she slowly lifted her knife-hoof, I screamed. It came plunging down with lightning speed right at my chest, and after the searing pain, there was nothing. I felt absolutely nothing, as I slowly drifted away.

I stood over the body, all-powerful. I felt great, despite the hellhole outside. That stab was my favorite part. The final killing blow, delivered by me. I jumped down from the desk, wiping the knife off on my pant leg, where many pony’s blood ended up after my encounters.

I walked to the corner where I had set down his stuff.

I slowly rummaged through his things, taking a couple beat up looking cans, and a box of ammo that seemed to belong to my rifle. I also wiped some of his blood off of my face with a rag inside. I found a small box inside, filled with painkillers and morphine.

Perfect.

I quickly took the cover off of the needle and took half a dose. Not as much as I normally would, but to get out of the town I had to be on my hooves, not passed out in some abandoned building. The effect slowly spread throughout my body, numbing me.

I gathered my things, including my makeshift armor, made from some old military garb, with iron chains lashed on, for protection from melee attacks, and the all-important bite.

Lastly, I grabbed my rifle. The rifle was a semi-automatic M94, fitted into a battlesaddle. There was a twelve power scope mounted to the saddle, allowing for extremely accurate aiming over 800 meters. The rifle was chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, enough round to take out targets farther than the eye can see. On the other side, was a concealment holster holding a .44 magnum revolver, within reach “just in case”.

I walked down the 3 flights of stairs, exiting the building through a side entrance. Outside, the desolate city stretched before me. Skyscrapers, either still standing or destroyed, littered the scene. Skeletons, both large and small, littered the school ground. A small passenger plane was crashed into the building adjacent to the school.

I took out my compass, and started to head southeast, toward Ponyville. This town had stayed relatively untouched by the military leaving it to the zombies. Highly dangerous, but profitable.
“Damn, wish I had a car” I said, shifting the weight of the saddle around.

The Next Day…

I woke up, gasping for breath. It had started to rain, sometime during the night, and continued on. I grabbed a raincoat out of my bag. It was yellow, and had a whole lot of duct tape covering all the holes in it. I grabbed my bags and continued on the road.

Travelling along the road was much safer than going through the forest. The Everfree Forest had spread to epic proportions, without magic to hinder its spread. The only thing keeping the roads clear was the cleaning talismans in the road. Many older, less advanced villages had been overrun by the forests constant onslaught.

“STOP, OR WE SHOOT!” a voice yelled over a megaphone, from behind an old police barricade.

I quickly faced the barricade. Two ponies stood there, one holding the megaphone, and one was packing a small pistol.

Pathetic.

I started to trot towards them, disregarding any further warnings. I walked right up to the barricade, pulled out the magnum, and kneecapped both of them. On one, the leg got blown clean off, bloody gristle flying everywhere, splattering me.

“Damn it, I just washed this!” I screamed over their bloodcurdling yells for help.

I had no mercy. I lunged at the armed one, sticking my knife gauntlet deep into his neck, cutting his jugular. I quickly gave the other an applebuck in the side, sending her flying into the barbed wire fence. After I finished with pistol pony, I started slowly walking toward number two. She struggled, caught in the wire, bleeding profusely, having difficulty breathing, probably from the applebuck I gave her. Defiantly a broken rib.

She screamed as I walked closer, “NO! DON’T PLEASE…” dropping off her sentence crying.

She tried to push me away once I got close with magic, but her magic stopped working as I cut off her horn with my knife. Then I traced down from the base of what used to be her horn, down to her stomach with my knife, essentially disemboweling her.

As she slipped away, I said to her, “Your suffering is over.”

Author's Note

Well, its been awhile since I wrote anything, and this is the first time I've posted on this website. Hope you all enjoyed, and if someone actually likes it, I'll see if I can get some more, longer chapters out. I felt it's just to short.
I also went and made a map of this little world I made for this.

I will also be uploading some basic sketches of the guns I'll be talking about. Hopefully I'll have that done sometime next week.
Again, hope you guys enjoy, and thanks for reading!
