//-------------------------------------------------------// Story of my Life -by EmeraldBreeze- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Arrival //-------------------------------------------------------// The Arrival {This story is based of a dream I had after watching MLP and the walking dead gameplay for 24hrs. enjoy.} [The Beginning] It all started on a Tuesday morning during history class. Our teacher Mrs. B is going off on the Gold Rush of our state Colorado and the fact that gold was first discovered in Cherry Creek. I was sitting at my desk drawing a picture of my dream guy. I looked up for a second to show I was “paying attention” only to see Mrs. B fighting with the history teacher from team 8.2. Now when I say fighting, I don’t mean arguing. I mean fighting. Mrs. B was struggling to fight of the other teacher. I wasn't really sure how to react until The other teacher caught Mrs. B’s arm and sunk his teeth into it. I was horrified. I ran out of the classroom holding all my stuff and I ran down the hall to my brother’s class to warn them. I arrived at the room and burst through the door. I ran to my brother and looked him over. I sighed in relief then burst out, “MRS. B IS DEAD. SHE GOT TOTALLY RIPPED APART. WE GOTTA GO. COME ON LET’S GRAB SIERRA, JORDYN, SARAH, MARTHA, AND JULIA THEN RUN!” I grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room and then down to the science room. “SIERRA, JORDYN, SARAH, MARTHA, AND JULIA! FOLLOW ME!” I grabbed them and we tore out of the school. We ran and ran. I wouldn't let them say anything. We ran all the way to the Wal-Mart. It was closed. I found something to pick the lock and opened the door. “Everyone in” I rasped, totally out of breath. I pushed them in and closed the door. We took a moment to collect ourselves. We were all out of breath. “Jo, what’s your problem,” Julia asked. “Are you okay,” Sierra asked, a worried look on her face. “Sis, you've been takin’ your meds, right.” Jon was looking at me like I was insane. “Joanna, I think you should sit down.” Martha was looking kindly at me. I stared at Jordyn and Sarah. “You remember our conversation we had on the way back from the museum. Right?” Their eyes got wide. In unison they said, “shit!” One time when we went on a field trip, we started talking about the possibility of our favorite shows, movies, and games coming true. My choice was the Walking dead. “Jo, I thought that you said this would never happen,” Jordyn said, her voice was small. “How the fuck was I suppose to know!” Sarah was quiet until a light bulb moment happened. “What supplies do we have.” “I don’t know, we have to take inventory.” I told her pulling out a piece of paper. Sierra put her hands up. “Hold up, what are you three talking about?” “Zombies,” I said simply. “Now, are you gonna help or not.” [An hour later] “Okay, so what now.” I asked. Sarah, Jordyn, and I were in the manager office. We had taken inventory and had a vote on how should lead the group. Everyone decided that it was best that the three of us was a good bet, considering that we knew the most about the situation. “We should send out a group to check the other stores.” “That’s a great plan Sarah, but how will they get back?” She looked thoughtful. “Look in the parking lot for cars.” “You know, you don’t take as someone who’d take charge. Come on Jord.” In the parking lot we stood by an SUV with a an ATV cart attached. “This might work. We should make a list of the stores and send out a few teams.” I told Jordyn. she nodded and wrote it down. “What else do we need? I mean, like urgently?’ “Some Supplies to build a border. I’ll go personally.” I grabbed my pack and got on the ATV. ”I saw a few more of these out back.” As she nodded I drove away. There was a Home depot across the street. It was closed too. I pulled out my lock pick and opened the door. The place smelt of oak, cedar, balsam, and other wood. I walked down the aisle with oak planks and plywood. Grabbing all I could, I tossed it into a cart with some tools nails, and paint. I found some other things and decided to make a weapon. A nail board. The nail was new and sharp. I was admiring it when a loud bang came from behind me. I turned prepared for a fight only to see a girl standing there. “W-who are you,” I asked trying to stay calm. “ I’m Lyra.” “H-hi Lyra. You’re not bit r-right?” She shook her head. Her eyes got wide. She ran to me and began lifting my arms and looking at me in awe. “Uhh, can I help you?” “No way, you’re a human. I knew they were real!” “O-K then.” I grabbed my stuff and started walking away. She pulled out a piece of paper and was writing stuff down. “So, What do you like to do,” she asked. “Uh, read and write, I guess.” “You’d get along great with my friend Twilight,” she stopped. “Twilight!” She bolted out of the door and ran towards the Wal-Mart.I tied my stuff to the ATV and rode away. When I got to the Wal-Mart, I saw there were three more girls. One with pink curly hair, another with long light pink hair covering her eye, one that had purple hair and was wearing an amethyst tiara. Lyra was hugging them. She turned to me. “These are my friends Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle.” The one with curly pink hair turned to me, “Hey there, I’m Pinkie.” The light pink haired girl was hiding behind her. “This is Fluttershy.” The one who must’ve been Twilight was looking around in horror. “Um, you alright,” I asked shaking her from some kind of trance. “W-where are we? What happened?” “Evergreen, Colorado.” Jon was staring at Pinkie with a dreamy expression. I put my hands up. “The four of you with me, NOW!” [In the office] “So lemme get this straight. You’re from a town called Ponyville in a country called Equestria on a whole different planet called Equis. Correct?” They nodded at Sarah and Jordyn. I stood off in the corner thinking to myself. Why are they so familiar? Have I met them before? Not that I know of. Twilight Sparkle. I feel I should know the name. Twilight, Twilight, TWILIGHT! “I KNEW I KNEW THAT NAME! TWILIGHT SPARKLE! STUDENT OF PRINCESS CELESTIA! ELEMENT OF MAGIC!” I shouted unknowingly. “How’d you know that?” Twilight looked visibly shaken. “Hmmm? Oh, yeah that, uhh. Jordyn!” I looked at her. She was in awe. “They’re REAL!” I nodded weakly. “This is the coolest thing ever!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Conflicted //-------------------------------------------------------// Conflicted [Some times during this chapter I will switch point of you so don’t get too confused :P also I added some details to make it interesting. keep that in mind that I am completely sane and I don’t hurt myself in real life.] [Three months later] We had gotten accustomed to living with cartoon characters. It was weird at first. I had befriended the four of them. Twilight would sit back with me in the far right corner on the base we’d created. We talked about science and shared about our worlds. one day we were contemplating reasons of how they got here. “So, tell me the story again Twi. Maybe we’re missing something.” She nodded, “OK. Umm so we were in the library and I had gotten a letter from Princess Luna. It was a subject she’d been studying since my coronation, Trans-dimensional travel. The letter said that she had been trying to solve this puzzle about a spell that allows trans-dimensional travel. the puzzle was something like What walks on four legs a dawn, two legs at noon, and three legs at dusk. The four of us were racking our brains. Spike came downstairs and said ‘Man, Twi, those chores were tiring.’ then there was a flash of light and we were here.” “Man,” I was solving the riddle. “Spike said Man while your magic was blazing after you read the puzzle. The puzzle is called the puzzle of the sphinx. A baby crawls on four legs, an adult walks on two, and an elderly person leans on a cane.” Twilight thought for a moment, then she nodded. I thought for a moment, staring at the ground. I didn’t notice Sierra pull Twilight away to work on the inventory counting. I sat there for the whole day, not moving. The moon was at its peak before I came back to earth. Standing up, I looked around. The store was dark. my desk was cluttered with papers and blueprints I’d sketched out. There was a map I kept about different stores we needed visit. I scanned it and didn’t realize Martha walk up next to me. “Hey you should get some sleep,” She put a hand on my shoulder and I jumped. “Oh Martha, you scared me,” I laughed a little. “Sorry Jo, but you really should rest.” Her voice was kind like usual. “I can’t, there’s things I need to do. I have to find this gun store, then check on security, then work on fixing our weapons so they shoot real bullets and not just BBs.” “Joanna, you’re my best friend. I’ve known you since we were like five. You were never is strung up before this outbreak. Are you okay?” I looked down. I couldn't say that I was terrified. I clutched my wrists. “I-I’m fine. I guess just a little tired. I’ll take your advise and lie down for a while.” [In my dream] I was in a dark place. There was a flash of light. A door had opened. Seven horse-like figures stood in front of it. One was taller than the rest. “W-where am I?” The taller horse looked at me. “Make your choice. Stay here alone or come with us.” “why would I be alone?” A new voice chimed in. It was cold and hoarse. “You’re a failure.” I’d heard it before. A hand grabbed me from behind. I jumped and was spun around. What I saw made me start crying. A girl with short knotted brown hair. Her wrists were mangled and cut. She had brownish eyes. A scar was above her eyebrow. She was wearing a blood red camisole with black trim and dark blue ripped jeans. I was crying and trying to escape her grip, but she was too strong for me. At the other end of this plane, a white light appeared. A new figure was standing in front of it. “Hurry this way, leave that witch behind.” The voice was sweet. I heard it before as well. I tried to get to the figure ,but I was held steadfast. “HELP ME! PLEASE!” I was crying and shaking. I needed her help. I heard an echoing voice. “Joanna? Joanna, wake up!” I yelled and screamed, kicking like a mule. Someone was shaking me. I was dizzy. Then everything went black. [In Reality- 3rd person] As Joanna went to lie down, Martha looked at the map her friend set down. Location were circled in red ink. A coffee shop, bakery, and restaurant were grouped together. “Only Joanna could understand this,” Martha chuckled to herself. She walked over to Joanna’s bookbag and peeked in side. The first thing she saw was a plush pony with a moon on it’s flank. It had a horn and wings. Martha rolled her eyes. Under that was a Swiss Army Knife. It was folded up, but Martha could see a dark liquid on it. Before she could get a better look, she heard a bloodcurdling scream. Marta ran to where it came and saw Joanna sobbing and flailing around in her sleep. Joanna screamed out. “HELP ME! PLEASE!” It was so loud and heartbreaking that it woke everyone up. They all rushed to the noise to complain, but saw Joanna crying and kicking and sweating. Martha was shaking her. “Joanna? Joanna, wake up!” Joanna kicked and flailed a little more until she woke up with a start. [Back to 1st person] I woke with a start and looked around. Everyone was gathered around me looking concerned. I was still shaken seeing the horror I’d just seen. “I-I’m sorry I woke you guys.” I curled up into a ball. “Are you okay Jo?” Sierra was staring at me with worry in her voice. “I-I,” I paused. I didn’t want to tell my friends my dream. “I’m fine. It was nothing just a little nightmare. nothing big. It was about Freddy Krueger,” I lied. “He must’ve grabbed your shoulder pretty well,” sarah joked pointing at the shoulder that got grabbed. “You’ve got a big gash there.” She was right. My shoulder was all torn a mangled where Her hand had been. I chuckled a little. “I’m gonna get some stuff done for tomorrow,” I said standing up. My friends looked like they wanted to protest but went to bed instead. Once they were all asleep, I went to my map and kept looking. “There you are.” I circled the gun shop. Looking at the scale, I found that the gun shop was about a ten minute drive on the ATVs. I yawned. I guess I was really tired. I was afraid to go asleep, but my eyelids were getting heavy. I fell asleep in five seconds. [The Next Day] Twilight found me in my corner doing some work on my brothers jeans. He had a run in with some barbed wire I was using. Anyway, I was working on his pants and mending them as best I could when she came over. “Hey Jo,” She said in a bubbly tone. “Hi Twi. What’s up,” I wasn’t paying total attention to her. “Who’s Freddie Kreuger?” I cringed. “Oh. Well I’m not the best to ask about him. Maybe try Sarah.” “Oh, O.K. Its just, you said you had a run in with him, so you know.” I sighed. “Twilight, I lied. It wasn’t Freddie. Lemme tell you my real dream.” [After A While] “Well I understand the first part, but who was the girl that grabbed you,” Twilight rubbed her chin. I grabbed my hurt shoulder. The girl. I didn’t notice my tears until twilight wiped them away. “Twi, I know who both girls were,” Twilight looked at me. “They were, me.” Twilight was shocked. I could see the gears in her head turn as she contemplated this. “What do you mean,” she asked. “Twi, I have some issues. I’m kinda like Pinkie.” She quirked an eyebrow. “I have my normal self, and my really low lows.” I went over to my bag and pulled out my swiss army knife. It was still coated in scarlet blood. Twilight took one look and opened her mouth to say something. I held up my hand. “Don’t say anything. I know what you’re thinking,” “Jo, that’s not healthy. What if you go too far?” “Twilight, don’t tell anyone. Now, on another note, come look at this map.” We walked to my table. I pointed to the gun shop. “This is our next target. The Elk Horn Gun Shop.” [ten minutes later] “Who’s going with you?” “I’m going alone Twilight.” She raised her eyebrow. “I need some time alone, to think. “Jo, at least let one person go with you. What we do if our best shot got killed.” “Fine, go get Sierra.” Twilight went off to fetch Sierra, and I checked my pack. I had my machete, my airsoft pistol, and a bow with some arrows. There was also my Luna plush toy, a water bottle, and the map. “Ready to head out?” Sierra was standing behind me with her hunting knife and BB gun. “Yeah, Let’s head out.” We hopped on our four wheelers and began the ride to the front gate. I opened it to a gruesome sight. A meatless pile of bones stained with blood. It wasn’t human. It had a muzzle with sharp K9s, it was a medium large size, around it’s neck was a blue collar. A pet dog. I choked back tears.Sierra did the same. We picked it up and moved it to the side of the road before leaving base and heading to the gun shop. [At the gun shop] We pulled up in front of The Elk Horn Gun Shop as the sun began to dip behind the mountains. There was a nip in the air and a breeze from the north. I shot my BB gun, and two zombies crawled out from the store. They came at sierra, and she stab them through the skull. “That was close,” Sierra smiled. “Yeah you were almost a zombie Happy Meal.” “Eyup.” I giggled. Sierra often made references to the stuff I watched on TV. “Lemme rephrase that, not a Happy Meal, a Big Mac. Come on it's getting dark.” The gun shop was dark and musty. The scent of cigarettes still lingered in the air. Along the walls were lines and lines of guns: pistols, hunting rifles, you name it. “Woah,” Sierra was awestricken. “Lots of these guns are illegal,” I smiled. “Perfect.” We filled our duffels with the dangerous weapons. The bags were almost too heavy for us. A noise shattered the veil of silence that surrounded us. I grabbed a deagle, “who’s there?” Sierra clutched a rifle, “show yourself!” Out of the darkness crawled a boy. he was skin and bones with eyes sunk into his head. His clothes were tattered and ripped. I looked at sierra. Her eyes were wide. “Please, help me.” His voice was raspy, but familiar. “What’s your name?” “Nate Bailey.” “I know you,” Sierra had a look of hatred in her eyes. “We went to school with you. Sierra Reyes and Joanna Rusciano.” “How’d you survive,” He glared at me, “How’d you survive fatass?” “Look here boy, you shouldn’t insult someone holding a gun.” I cocked the deagle. His eyes widened. “S-sorry ma’am.” “Good boy, now we’ll take you to our base and fix you up, but you have to leave when you’re strong enough. Understood?” Nate nodded. Sierra and I helped him up. When he was on his feet, a wave of pain shot through me. I saw stars. The world spun around me. I heard a distant voice call my name. Sierra? No, the voice was my own. I looked up. There she was, or I was, or whatever. Dressed in white was a girl with long brown hair, her eyes were the color of colombian dark roast coffee, her face was thick. She was a heavy set angel. I looked behind me. The demon from my nightmare. I stood up, still woozy. The angel shot at the demon with a white light. No, not light, snow. The demon returned the favor with a burst of fire. From behind me, a voice said “Joanna, only you can stop this.” I turned to see a navy pony with a starscape mane. “Luna? Luna please help me.” “Joanna, you need to accept yourself as you are. For years you’ve been fighting this battle unconsciously. End it before you become like me. We both know the dark side is winning. You know others love you, accept the love in your heart before darkness consumes you.”With that, Luna disappeared. I turned toward the fight. Luna was right. My inner demon was standing over the angel with a knife to her throat. “STOP IT!” I screamed. “I WILL NOT LET EVIL CONSUME ME! I CONTROL THIS FIGHT! I AM EQUAL WITH YOU TWO! I’M NOT GOOD AND I’M NOT BAD, I’M ME!” There was a light. There standing in front of me was a girl. She had short wavy brown hair, coffee brown eyes, and a scar under her eyebrow. It was me. The real me. She began to shimmer and change into a tall violet unicorn with a heart upon her flank. Her mane was cut short. It matched the color of her tail, black and forest green. She mouthed the word “See you soon,” and faded into white light.
