It was a nice, sunny day in Equestria, and Rainbow Dash was resting on a cloud in her favourite part of the sky above Ponyville. “Look out!” cried a voice. Rainbow Dash sat up and looked around, but she couldn't see anypony. Then, she looked up just in time to see something coming down, about to hit her. Instantly, she darted off the cloud, which the falling pegasus went straight through. After he'd hit the ground, Rainbow Dash went down to investigate.

“Hey!” She shouted. “What was that all about, huh? You could've hurt me! You're just lucky I'm not hurt.”

There was no reply from the fallen pony. He was lying on the middle of mane street. By now, other ponies had started to gather around, blocking Rainbow's view of him. As she flew closer, she heard several voices. “Is he dead?” Rainbow heard Applebloom say “No, he's breathing” said Scootaloo. “What do ya think 'appened to 'im?” Asked Applebloom At this, Sweetie Belle appeared above the crowd. “CUTIE MARK CRUISADERS CRIME INVESTIGATORS!” She shouted. By now, Rainbow had flown pretty close, and she finally got a good look at the pegasus who nearly hit her. And to her great surprise... he looked almost exactly like her. He even had the same cutie mark.

Rainbow needed to know who this pony was, so she swooped down, and picked him up, and flew off in the direction of Twilight's library. “If anypony knows who you are and where you come from,” Thought Rainbow Dash out loud. “It's Twilight.”

Twilight opened the door to see, what at first glance looked like two Rainbow Dash's, She was a little stunned. But, once she recovered, she showed Rainbow Dash into the basement, helping her carry her compainion. “Right.” Said Twilight, once they got downstairs. “Would you mind telling me who in Equestria this is, and why you've brought him to me? And why is he out cold?”

Rainbow Dash told the story about what happened, right up until she knocked on Twilight's door.

“Wow... you managed to carry me all the way here on your own? That's pretty impressive.”

Both the ponies looked around to see who the voice belonged to, and saw that their guest had woken at some point in Rainbow's story.

“It wasn't easy,” Said Rainbow Dash. “You're really heavy, y'know.”

“I suppose so.” The colt said. “Now. Would you mind telling me who you are, and why we're in Dusk's library...” and then he stared at Twilight. “And why you look just like Dusk?”

“Um, excuse me?” Twilight said. “This is my library. Every pony in Ponyville knows that.”

“Well, I was born and raised here.” said the colt. “And this library has belonged to Dusk Shine ever since Prince Solaris sent him to live here.”

“Prince who?” Rainbow asked.

“Don't tell me you don't know Who Prince Solaris is.” Said the colt. “He's only the ruler of all of Equestria, along side his brother.”

“You must have hit your head harder than I thought” Twilight said as she suppressed a chuckle. “Princess Celestia is our ruler, along with her sister, Luna.”

“This is getting confusing” Rainbow Dash said, and the mysterious colt nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile...

“RAINBOW BLITZ!” Shouted Dusk Shine. “C'mon, Blitz, it's not funny anymore. Prince Solaris will be here any minute to watch your demonstration. It's only your future in the Wonderbolts that's at stake.”

“Oh, I hope nothing bad has happened to him... he’s gotta be okay. He’s just gotta” Said the timid yellow colt, known in this world as Butterscotch. “I honestly can’t see the point in worrying. You all know Rainbow Blitz. He won’t be found if he doesn’t want to… or… he’ll be found sleeping on a cloud somewhere above Ponyville.” The white unicorn, Elusive said. “Jus’ this once, ah have ter side with Elusive. We ain’t gonna find Rainbow Blitz down here on the ground” Said the large farm pony, Applejack.
