Chapter 1: Hi there, I'm Apex
"So, watch out for Pinkie, be extra kind to Fluttershy, complement Rarity's mane, ask Twilight about books and talk to Applejack about the farm. Did I miss anything out?" Apex said in an overly excited tone.
"Nope, that's about it." Dash replied.
Rainbow Dash and Apex had been flying towards Ponyville for about half an hour. The wind was chilled and the skies were clear, a perfect day for flying. They had recently left the Cloudsdale weather factory after picking up Rainbow's schedule for the month's weather in Ponyville. The flight was relatively quiet except for the few basic rules that Rainbow kept going over to make sure that Apex was kind and polite to all of her friends.
They had only met in a bar about a week ago but considering how many pranks they had pulled together Rainbow and Apex considered each other as friends. For some reason Dash thought it was necessary to keep reminding Apex that they were only friends and nothing more, to which Apex would usually reply something along the lines of "Yeah, I know. Don't worry, I'm not really one for the whole dating thing, anyway."
Most of the time that's all that was needed to satisfy Rainbow but sometimes she just had to be curtain, she had gotten the point across. "So, who are you going to introduce me to first?" Apex asked.
"Probably Fluttershy, she's the timid one." Dash replied.
"I know; I like timid ponies, they're always polite to make sure they don't annoy anypony." Apex explained.
"Yeah, Fluttershy's been my my friend since flight school, when I pulled off my first sonic rainboom." Dash flext her wings a bit before remembering flexing and flying isn't the best combination. She wobbled a bit then regained her balance.
"Wait, is Fluttershy your best friend or Applejack?" Apex asked. Rainbow had been talking of Apple quite a bit and was getting curious but when she spoke of Fluttershy she changed her tone to a very passionate and almost suductive pitch.
"Applejack is but don't any funny ideas for any of them." Rainbow demanded.
"No promises." Apex smirked. Rainbow Dash had described her friends in such detail that he felt like he'd known them for years. She made sure not to miss a single detail so that Apex knew who was who and what behavior to expect from them. The last week had pretty much been spent entirely on sitting in the bar, drinking cider while Rainbow Dash went over everything se had done with her friends and by everything, I mean everything!
"I'm serious, Apex. If you do start dating ponies, my friends are off the list." Rainbow explain.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to be dating for a while; I don't think I'm ready for that, yet." Apex said.
"Okay, I believe you. But if one of my friends asks you out, you better not hurt them or I'll snap you like a stick." Rainbow had only known him for a week but she felt like she could really trust him. He was a nice enough guy but she just wanted to make sure he didn't hurt her friends. Why does he look so familiar? I know I've seen him before but where have I seen him? I know he did something imporant but what? Dash thought.
"Hey, Rainbow. You okay?" Apex asked.
"Huh, what? Oh right, yeah I'm fine." Dash replied.
"You sure, you zoned out for a second there?" Apex continued.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Come on, let's get a move on. I want to be back in Ponyville soon, I miss my friends but don't tell anypony that. I have a reputation to hold, you know? Dash sped up towards Ponyville and Apex soon followed suit.
"Okay, this is Fluttershy's cottage." Dash rapped on the door in a nice rhythm They waited a few minutes and there was no answer. Dash knocked again but still, no answer. "Odd, maybe she's out. We'll have to come back later."
"Okay, who's next?" Apex asked. 'Please be Applejack. I love ponies with an accent.' Apex thought to himself.
"Twilight, she lives in the Golden Oaks Library which is closest to here." Dash replied.
Damn it!
"It's a tree?!" Apex pointed out.
"No shit, Sherlock." Dash knocked on the door in the same rhythm as the last and one again there was no reply. "Is everypony out today?"
"Looks that way doesn't it." Apex looked around the street and the rest of the town looked like a ghost town. "Looks like the whole town is deserted. Wait, you said Pinkie Pie's always been one for parties, correct?"
"Yeah, so?" Rainbow asked.
"Well, maybe the whole town is with Pinkie waiting for you so she can throw a surprise 'Welcome Back' party?" Apex suggested.
"You know, you might actually be on to something. Alright let's go to Sugar Cube Corner, that's where Pinkie lives." Rainbow gestured for Apex to follow while walking down the street to Sugar Cube Corner.
"Why, do I have to go first? It's your party." Apex asked.
"Fine, I'll go first. Wimp." Dash murmur under her breath.
"What was that last part?" Apex asked leaning in to hear her better.
"Nothing." Rainbow lied. Sometimes I love these parties but most of the time I hate them. They're just too damn much.
Rainbow slowly opened the door to Sugar Cube Corner, poking her head in slightly to find complete darkness. I guess Apex was right. Dash pushed the door the rest of the way and walked inside. Suddenly all of the lights turned on and the whole town shouted the one word she was hoping to avoid: "SURPRISE!"
"Told ya." Apex said as he walked past Rainbow joining the rest of the town. As he was walking his eyes met with those of an orange Earth pony in a stetson. He'd never seen such beauty before, her pony tail mane, her tri-apple cutie-mark and those freckles.Oh, how he loved those freckles. He knew who this pony was just from the description Rainbow had given him of her. The pony's name was screaming in his head. Applejack
He slowly approached her and lifted a hoof for Applejack to shake. "Hi there, I'm Apex."
Chapter 2: Howdy, Apex. Ah'm Applejack
"Howdy, Apex. Ah'm Applejack." AJ introduce herself with a tip of the old stetson.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Apple. I must say, I love your accent." Apex lifted her hoof and gave it a small kiss.
"Well, that's mighty fine of ya ta say, Apex. An' please, call me Applejack." AJ blushed.
Apex was quite impressed by the party. Considering Rainbow Dash had only been away for a week or so, the party Pinkie had thrown was quite extensive but of course, that's Pinkie for ya.
Rainbow Dash herself was off talking to her other friends. "Hey, Pinkie. Thanks for the party, it's great." Rainbow never really did understand why Pinkie loved parties so much but she did know that a Pinkie party was a great party. "You really didn't have to go through the trouble you know. I have only been gone a week." Dash added.
"I know but we all missed you sooo much and I know how much you love parties and attention, so here you go!" Pinkie shouted. As usual the pink, party pony was jumping as happy as ever, if not happier.
"Hey, Pinkie where is everypony? You're the only other Element I can see." Rainbow asked.
"Well, the author has only introduced you, AJ and myself at this point but I'm sure the other Elements will come into the story later." Pinkie explained.
"Author? What, author? Do you know what, never mind, you said AJ's here, where is she?" Rainbow was a tad confused about what Pinkie meant by the author but just summed it up to: Because Pinkie Pie.
"Applejack is other there with that new pony. I love new ponies, they're always so confused with my randomness and seem so scared but then I throw them a welcome party and we become friends." Pinkie replied.
"New pony? What ne- Oh no." Rainbow gaze had fallen upon a pair of ponies chatting to each other quite happily, Applejack and Apex. If she had leant anything about Apex over the last week, it's that he has a thing for getting mares and the odd stallion to like him. He must of had some sort of power to attract ponies or something because he always had mares talking to him when they were in public but for reasons unknown to Rainbow, Apex always left empty hoofed. He turned down every offer he got from ponies, mare or stallion.
He even told her that he had never been in a relationship before and that he wasn't planning to anytime soon. She didn't really care if he was chatting up ponies normally but now he was talking to Applejack, her best friend. She thought about leaving it because of all the times he simply turned down the offers of other ponies and how he had promised not to ask his friends out but being a lesbian she knew just how beautiful AJ was and that made her doubt that Apex would turn her down if she offered to go out.
She stormed up to Apex with a glare that rivalled that of Fluttershy's stare. "So, I see you've met Applejack." Rainbow's stare hadn't faded even though they were mere inches away from each others muzzles.
Apex slowly backed away from the awkward position he was in with Rainbow Dash. "Yeah, we were just talking about you. Why didn't you tell me you was dating Gilda the Griffon." Apex asked trying to break the tension between the two of them.
"Oh, I see, you've been caught hitting on my best friend so you're going to defend yourself by being homophobic. Yes, I am a fillyfooler and yes, I am dating Spitfire but so what? Does that make me any less of a pong than anypony else in Equestria?" Rainbow asked. She was fed up of the rumours of her being a lesbian, so she decided to just tell everypony that she was a fillyfooler as she put it and that if they didn't like it then they could go buck them self's.
"What, homophobic? I'm not homophobic, I was just trying to make conversation. I don't care if you're gay, it doesn't make any difference to me so why should I care? Plus, even if I did care it's not any of my business anyway so it wouldn't matter. It just happens that I'm quite good friends with Gilda and I didn't actually know she was into mares so this is all big news for me." Apex explained.
"Oh, well. But still it's not the point, you're not going out with Applejack!" Rainbow shouted.
"Hey now, sugarcube. Ah know ya'll is only trying to protect me an' all but Ah think Ah can handle may own just fine thanks. Plus what if Ah wanted to go out with Apex here." AJ said tilting her head at Apex.
"Oh, I'm afraid I can't , sorry. I would love to go out with a beautiful mare like you but I promised Rainbow I wouldn't go out with her friends unless they ask me out." Apex confessed.
"Don't. You. Dare." Rainbow demanded glaring at Applejack.
Applejack smirked and stood closer to Apex. "Hey, Apex. How would ya'll go on date tomorrow night?" AJ asked.
Apex looked over at Rainbow for a second in complete amazement. This is exactly how Rainbow discribed Applejack, they're like best friends trying to protect each other but there's such a huge rivalry between the two of them. I wonder how they could stay as such great friends if their rivalry is so strong.
"You know what, Applejack? It would be an honor and privilege." Apex answered.
"Fine, I give up. I'm trying to provect you but how can I if you go off with random strangers?" Rainbow asked dropping her head in defeat.
"Sugarcube, Ah didn't mean t-" Applejack was cut off by a leg being raised in front of her. She looked over to see that it belonged to Apex. Who just glanced over to her and smiled. He dropped his hoof and walked up to Rainbow Dash.
"Rainbow, I've only known you for a week but I can tell just how much you care for your friends. It's clear to me that you think of them like family. You don't have to worry, Rainbow. I always follow the camp ground rules." Apex lifted Rainbow's chin and gave her a comforting smile.
"Camp ground rules? Ah ain't no dirt opening in a forest." Applejack was a tad insult that Apex had talk about her like a piece of dirt, literally.
"Oh, no. It's an expression, if you go camping when you leave the place must be as clean or clearer than it was when you got there, so if we was to ever stop seeing each other than I'd make sure we left on good terms and that we're still friends afterwards." Apex explained.
Rainbow had never heard the expression before but she had, she was more inclined to let then date. "Alright fine. You can date but just as long as there's no funny business." Rainbow said.
"What do ya mean by funny business?" Applejack asked.
"Oh, you know exactly what I mean." Rainbow replied.
"Well, I'm afraid I've got to run. I need to check into my hotel before somepong else steals my room. I'll see you around Rainbow and I'll see you tomorrow night, Applejacks." Apex said turning for the door.
"Okay, I'll see you later, Apex." Rainbow walked off into the party as she saw the rest of the Elements passing by. "Hey, Twilight!" She shouted as she flew towards them.
"Yeah, I best get over there, Ah'll see ya tomorrow, sugarcube." Applejack tipped her hat and followed Rainbow after their friends.
Apex slowly walked to his hotel, thinking to himself. I can tell that this is going to be an interesting week.
"After you, my lady." Apex held the door to the estaishment open for Applejack to enter, lowering his head as a waiter to royalty would do for their employer.
"That's mighty kind of ya, Apex." Applejack said as she entered the building.
"I hope you like this place, I didn't want something too expansion because then you might think I'm rich or posh and I didn't want someplace too cheap because then you might think I'm a slub, so I compromised and combined the two and I found this place." Apex explained.
"But this is the hotel?" Applejack pointed out.
"Well, the room I'm staying in has a kitchen and dinning room, so I thought it would be nice if I cooked us both something and we could spend the rest of night chatting, watching a movie or snuggling on the sofa looking at stars." Apex explained.
"What was that last one?"
"Nothing."
"Wait, how would we see the stars if we're on the sofa, anyway?" Applejack asked as they entered the elevator.
"You'll see." Apex replied, pressing the pent house level button which fortunately for Apex, Applejack didn't notice as she was too confused by what Apex meant.
As they got to the top floor Apex stepped up and turned to Applejack. "Welcome to my humble abode." Apex turned back to the pent house and gestured for her to have a look around.
"You got the pent house? How in the hay did ya afford this, Apex?" Applejack asked, worried that he might have done something stupid with his money.
Apex simply smiled and pulled out his bank account book. As soon as Applejack saw the latest entry her mouth dropped.
"Th- That's a lot of zeros ya got here, Apex." Applejack stutard.
"Can you do me a favor and keep this money thing between you and me?" Apex asked with pleeding eyes.
"Of course I can, sugarcube. I suppose if you've just moved down from a big, fancy city like Cloudscape, you wouldn't know what to expect from a little town like Ponyville." Applejack knew where he was coming from. When she moved to live with her Uncle Orange, they were all worried about her because she came from a farm in a poor town which they couldn't even remember the name of.
"Actually I was only staying in Cloudsdale for a few nights, I live in the Griffon islands. My mum adopted me which is why I know Gilda, she's my sister." Apex explained. Gilda had told him that she moved down to Ponyville so she could be with her coltfriend but obviously she lied as apparently she's dating Rainbow Dash.
"That would explain why you so shocked when I told you who Rainbow was dating." Applejack said. They walked into the kitchen and Applejack sat down at a nearby stool while Apex started on their dinner.
"Yeah, she said that she moved down to Ponyville so she could be with her coltfriend, Rainbow Blitz. I wonder why she lied to me?" Apex pondered to himself the possibilities as to why she would keep her sexualality a secret from him.
"Maybe she was scared that you wouldn't love her because she's different." Applejack suggested.
"Could be, anyway. How about I finish making dinner and you go have a look around." Apex suggested.
"That's a mighty fine idea, sugarcube. Ah'll be back in a minute." Applejack said as she stood and walked over to Apex. "So far Ah've really enjoyed myself, keep up the good work an' ya get lucky." AJ teased giving Apex a small kiss on the cheek. Then winking and leaving the room.
"I thought we weren't aloud any funny business, as Rainbow put it." Apex shouted down the hall.
Applejack poked her head back to in the kitchen door way. "She didn't make us promise. Plus, she said no funny business but we're go to be very professional about this." She said turning away again as she flicked her tail up and stroked Apex's face with it.
"Oh course, anything for a my beautiful date." Apex replied smelling her tail and taking in her scent.
Once AJ had left the room, Apex continued to cook their food. How was I lucky enough to find a mare as beautiful as that?
After a few minutes Applejack returned to the kitchen and Apex served the food he had prepared.
"For tonight's meal, I have prepared a Amareican dish, commonly known as vege burgers and hay fries." Apex said jokingly, placingthe places in front of himself and Applejack.
"How posh." Applejack grinned. They both smile at each other before bursting into laughter.
Eventually the laughing died down and they ate their meals in silence. Once she had finished, Applejack relaxed back into her chair and wiped her face clean. Well, all but a small bit of ketchup on her cheek.
"You've got a little something." Apex said pointing to his cheek.
AJ lifted a hoof to wipe it but Apex put his hoof on her's to stop it. "Here, let me get that."
He got up from his seat and stepped closer to her. They were both standing, facing each other only an inch away from each other's muzzle. Apex leaned in a picked to piece of Ketchum off her cheek causing Applejack to blush. Apex finished cleaning her and stepped back.
"There, all better. Now then, TV, chatting, snuggles or sex?" Apex asked.
"Well, ya really have put me on the spot here, sugarcube, Ah'm Hanna have ta say..." Applejack started tapping her chin with a hoof while thinking about her options. "Sex." She replied.
"Then please, right this way." Apex said pointing to the room opposite the kitchen which Applejack earlier found out was the bedroom.
"Of course." She said stepping into the room and walking over to the bed. She lay down at the base of the bed on her back with her hind legs spread giving Apex full view of her bits. Apex walked over and lay down on top of her giving her a deep and passionate kiss. Their tongues wrestled for control. Eventually, Apex, being a gentlecolt aloud her domination and relaxed his tongue. After a few minutes of Applejack exploring Apex's mouth, they broke apart.
He looked her straight in the eyes and smiled before giving her a quick peck on the lips.
For the rest of the next few hours they spent their time doing the forbidden, funny business.
