War of the Rift

by BluesyTreble
This tale is my 2 cents of a Human Medieval army ( about 1415 AD) pitted against an Equestrian army. This is only my opinion, I'm sure there are many others.

Since the rift opened in England, the dwellers of the land have sought to uncover and conquer the new land that lies beyond. Unfortunately, wanderers and explorer-parties have encountered nothing but a hostile blade and their death, causing the leaders of England much displeasure and hostility to this strange land, inhabited by horses who have mastered Human speech and fight on two legs, some even possessing wings, granting them the ability to fight in the skies as well. This new Rift has come to the attention of Thomas of Lancaster, the Duke of Clarence. Leading a retaliation force of 16,000 archers and 7,000 knights and men-at-arms, he seeks engage the inhabitants of "Equestria" in battle and show these horses that Humanity is not a race to be trifled with. Will he succeed? Or will he be beaten, taken, or slain by this strange race? This story focuses on one English archer, William Leverage, telling of his experience before, during, and after battle.
