It's so peculiar." "It's not an IT Applejack! BOINGY! BOINGY! BOINGY!" "Uh-h, I-I don't know what to say. But I have to agree with Pinkie Pie, it's not an it, but something else." "That's so awesome! Just look at it- I-I mean um-m," "I do have to admit the adorable thing IS rather unusual. Twilight dear, where did you find this thing- I mean creature?" "Well, you see..." I said, feeling a bit tense from all the sudden attention. But miraculously, the little filly burst out in tears. "I think SHE'S hungry," I said. Today had been a long day and I wondered myself what the creature was. Comparing her to Applejack's dog, Winona, there were quite few similarities. The filly's ears looked exactly like Winona's ears with a feathery mane parted to the left of her cute little face. With a warm yellow for her body she had a green mane with yellow streaks. She was almost a filly, yet still a baby. Probably three at the most. "Come on Twi. Just tell us where you found this little sugar cube," Applejack said. "Okay, fine. You know that big fire in the Everfree forest yesterday? Well, I heard some crying so as dangerous as the action seemed, I went inside to investigate. "Wait, hold on a second. So you're telling us that you actually went inside the Everfree Forest during a fire!" Rainbow Dash asked in disbelief. "Well, I didn't know there was a fire yet when I went to look for the source of all the crying." I replied. "I have to believe Twilight dear. After all, I saw her coming out of that creepy Everfree Forest with her hair and mane covered with ash with the cutie," Rarity defended. "Ahem, if everyone would please stop interrupting, I looked for a few minutes when I saw this little filly in a cave, seemed like a dragon's cave to me. Anyways, I wanted to help her but I was so scared. That is, until I saw a huge dragon flying away in the air. That's when I saw the fire. Dashing, I scooped up the filly and ran, ran as fast as my legs could go," I explained, pausing for a dramatic effect. The cute little filly was now napping in the little stroller I bought her/ "She's so cute!" Pinkie Pie whispered, which actually surprised me. She actually seemed calm for a moment. "So Twilight, what are you going to do with her? No offense to both of you, but she's very, different," Rainbow Dash asked. "U-m, I I think you should go to Princess Celestia, when the time is right," said Fluttershy in a quiet voice. I noticed she barely talked during this conversation at all. "Great idea Fluttershy, but the princess will be extra busy this month preparing for the Grand Galloping Galla. So until then, could you help me take care of the little filly?" I asked. Soon enough, everypony in the mane 6 agreed to pitch in. "So, what should we name the little fella?" Applejack asked. "Fire Gleamer," I replied," Just look at her. A reason I wanted to rescue her was because of the little gleam in her eye." "Guys, can you believe that's it has been a whole year since we decided to take care of Fire Gleamer?" I asked in a cheerful tone. "The lil' fellas grow so fast," Applejack replied as she wiped away what I think was a teardrop. Today was technically Fire Gleamer's birthday because this was the day I discovered her. "I still can't believe Princess Celestia allowed us to adopt her!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Um-m, me too," Fluttershy said quietly. "Auntie Rarity, how old am I today?" Fire Gleamer asked in her usual innocent voice. "Well, the doctor said that you were most probably two last year so I guess you're now three," she replied. Fire Gleamer looked very proud of herself for becoming older. "Hey, cousin Sweetie Belle, do you want to play with me?"Fire Gleamer asked. "You know that I'm not you're actual cousin right? Anyway, I can't. I promised Rarity I would help with decorating. The strange thing though, it's almost like she doesn't wan't me to help. Sorry," Sweetie Belle apologetically said. I sighed. It was my birthday and today of all days, no one would play with me.Not even Sweetie Belle! But I was so bored, I decided to play outside. It was still sunny even though it was almost dinnertime. Then I saw Diamond Tiara and her friend, Silver Spoon. I learned from experience to steer clear from those two so I ran. Fortunately, I don't think they saw me. Unfortunately, I ran deep into town where I also avoided, unless I was with at least one of my aunties. I avoided town because people just stared only, today they weren't just staring. Today, they were laughing and pointing at me. I wanted to cry and hide. I never understood why they would treat me so unfairly. Holding my head high I walked as quickly as I could to the safety of Sugarcube Corner. When I went inside, the place was dark and had a sort of eerie feeling. I was about to walk away when...... "Surprise!" everyone shouted. I just stood shocked and in awe. "Happy Birthday!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. I don't know why but I suddenly broke down into tears. "What's the matter?" everyone asked all at once. When I told them that some Ponyville folk looked at me funny there was a lot of awkward silence. Author's Note Please leave some comments! //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue I knew that i should of told her how I discovered her long ago. I just could never choke out the right words. When Fire Gleamer told me that some ponies looked at her funny, I knew I had to show her. I knew I had to show her who she really was. Since she was just a tiny filly, she never knew how she looked, or minded. That moment, right there I broke the awkward silence and handed her a mirror. She gasped in horror as she saw her reflection. She burst out of Sugarcube Corner and ran away. It's been three years since my little Fire Gleamer ran away. I can now only wish that she is safe. At night I look out inside the night sky and whenever I see a star, I am reminded of little Gleamer. I can only hope that she is safe, looking at the same star that twinkles in the night sky, almost as if it has a gleam in its eye itself. Author's Note I might have another story, like a part two. I'm not so sure yet though.
