Ch.1 - Luuucy. I'm home!

He adored the simplicity of her symmetrical frame. The dark concrete wall seemed a cruel surface to support her chalky illumination that held fast against the jealous shadows that surrounded her. He touched up the edges of the butterfly's outline with the pink chalk and caressed her inked cousins he emblazoned into his chest. A choice made on a whim and inspired by a dream.
Green rolling hills with quaint fairy tale cottage framed in distant background of forest untamed. Animals of all kinds in supernatural truce. Fox and rabbit, bear and doe; all the woodland fauna in concord, yielding to tranquility spellbound in the echo of her voice, carried on the back of butterfly wings.
Wonder.
That word stood out most in the blissful nonsense of the woodland sirens song. Every night during his stay in solitary, after the incident with a Mexican Mafia piece of trash, he heard it in his dreams. Every night he obsessed over the lyrics meaning. He titled his head back and closed his eyes trying to recollect the words.
Feel the sun, feel the sun,
Yeah, jam that one
Or was it,
Build a soul, build a soul,
Give back that one
He wasn't sure. It seemed different every time. The way the song echoed off the hills made it difficult to understand. He thought on the chorus.
Deep wide bell Wonder
Or maybe it was
Sweet why yell Wonder
It drove him mad never understanding the ghostly lyrics but the one word he always understood was wonder. Indeed it did fill him with wonder. Sadly, the dream never lasted and every time he woke up he was desperate just to go back to sleep, but he always woke back up in hell. His kingdom.
As he finished scrawling the word "Wonder" into the middle of the butterfly he heard the creaking of his cell door open and close. He chuckled mentally, and had three guesses as to who slipped into his cell. It couldn't have been one of the screws, they were too chicken shit to ever come at him one on one. That only left the Aryan Brotherhood, The Mexican Mafia, or some wanna be punk they sent in to die.
"Oh, Luuucy. I'm home!"
Ah. That was it then.
Lucifer turned around to see the very same loudmouth punk he thrashed months ago for calling him Lucy. A lot of fish that wanted to make a name for themselves made that mistake. Usually, what would happen was that Lucifer would saunter over seductively to the fool who uttered his nickname and bat his eyes at them. They'd recoil and he would ask them, "You trying to flirt with the devil, big boy?" Before they managed to tell him to fuck off or say anything else he'd either choke slam them if they were light enough to lift or break out a kneecap if they were too heavy.
Travis Bentley got the broken kneecap. Everyone thought it was hilarious.
"The fuck is that shit?" Travis asked as he leveled the makeshift crossbow Lucifer's way.
Stupid bastard. If he had a braincell he would have shot me through the bars and came in to dig a well in me
Lucifer smiled and said, "Deep why...hell...wonder."
"What?"
Lucifer stood up quickly. Travis jumped and pulled the trigger. The crossbow fell apart in his hands. Lucifer smiled and Travis tossed the broken contraption at him, rushing in with his shank. It ended quickly enough when Travis felt the sudden force of Lucifer's foot penetrate deep into his throat. Now on the floor he clutched at his broken windpipe.
"Did you think they really sent you here so you could get made?" Lucifer said as he jerked Travis off the floor and held him close to his body from behind. He leaned in and spoke into his ear, "Your just bait, stupid. I know enough about you that there ain't no way in hell the AB wants a bitch like you with them."
Just then four more figures funneled into the cell, each swinging padlocked filled socks.
"Show time!" Lucifer yelled as he kicked Travis into the oncoming assault. One AB was knocked down and the other tripped over his friend as he tried to move out the way. Lucifer's hidden shank wizzed through the air and made itself snug in anthers eye.
A few cells over, Gabriel Gonzolas, listened as the struggle went on, wondering all the while if Lucifer ever found the package he hid in his cell. The fight went on for probably four or five minutes. He could tell Lucifer was still hanging in there by the sounds of anguish coming from the Aryan Brother hood as the fight gradually changed its tune. The fight came to an end as a blood curdling scream echoed through the block.
"Well," Gabriel mused, "guess that's over. Now come the screws"
Just as Gabriel said it, the sound of multiple footsteps came charging down the hallway. He knew the guards were in on the whole thing. They were wanting to see who came out of that cell alive. For them it was a win win situation. Either the AB succeeded and took out one of the most dangerous inmates that ever set foot into the Canterville County, Michigan "Ice Cage" or there would be five less White Power dumb fucks to deal with. They were most likely bribed by the AB so they could slip into Lucifer's cell and now that they fucked up the screws were coming in to put the beat down on the survivors.
Lucifer had already walked out of his cell. Gabriel uttered a small thank you to God as he heard his footsteps grow distant. He was walking away from his cell.
"Get down on the ground!" He heard one of the screws yell. Gabriel could only imagine the smirk Lucy was wearing on his face. He could have sworn he heard a clink hit the floor.
"Shit! Simmons get away from him, he's got a grenade!"
Gabriel smiled. "Guess he did after all."
It was no simple feat getting that thing in. It took Gabriel half a year to get the funds and have the parts smuggled in piece by piece, hours to safely put it together without getting caught and it was another ordeal entirely to sneak it into Lucifer's cell and hide it somewhere the guards wouldn't find it. The cost was more than what Gabriel wanted to pay, but he owed Lucy.
"Mine-mind that
At tat tat my
Deep wide well wonder
D-D-Deep wide well wonder
Feel the Sun
My my my
Feel the Sun
Feel
At tat tat my
Deep wide bell wonder
Deep why hell wonder
"
Gabriel shook his head. Lucifer told him enough about that weird song he kept hearing in his dreams. He knew Lucifer was crazy as a bat out of hell and needed this release. He felt sorry for the man believe it or not. Probably was the only who did in all the "Ice Cage." It was only a matter of time before someone finally did him in so Lucifer wanted to make sure that if he had to go he was going to leave an impression.
KABOOM!
He got his wish.
With a flash and a bang it was over. Gabriel traced the cross in the air over his body, bowed his head and uttered, "Concédele el descanso eterno a ellos, oh Señor y dejar que la luz perpetua brille sobre ellos. Que descansen en paz. Amén."
Fluttershy woke up startled.
For the past month she had been having the most horrible dreams that only increased in frequency as time went on. Dreams of a dark place full of despair, loneliness, and on occasion violence. Such terrible violence.
The dreams always featured strange bipedal creatures with flat faces. Some where pale, some where dark, many where in what looked like cells and some wore uniforms, walking around with an air of authority. It seemed that they were all in a dungeon or jailhouse. Fluttershy had never seen a jail house before, let alone a dungeon, so she couldn't be for certain. The denizens in her dreams always appeared to be angry, or on edge.
Especially him. The red maned one with the blue eyes.
Fluttershy shivered.
Her dreams always centered around him and he scared her the most. He seemed prettier than the others with his long red hair, but as she saw time and time again he was absolutely demonic. Always fighting, always hurting, always killing, always with a grin on his face. Fluttershy could only wonder how anyone could enjoy inflicting that kind of pain one. How could one smile and kill at the same time?
Angel bunny hopped into Fluttershy's view with a worried look on his face. At first he was annoyed with the butterscotch Pegasus's sudden yells and "Eeps!" waking him up in the middle of the night. Progressively, however, the dreams increased and the look of terror on his owners face every time began to eat at him.
"Oh, I'm sorry I woke you up again, Angel," Fluttershy said.
Angel rolled his eyes and pointed to a picture on Fluttershy's night stand.
She saw what he was pointing at. A picture of her together with five of her best friends.
"Oh no, I shouldn't really bother them with this. After all they're really busy right now around this time of year and I wouldn't want to be a bother," she explained.
Angel crossed his arms and shook his head. He pointed to the picture again with more emphasis.
Fluttershy put a hoof to her mouth in thought. She suddenly grimaced as memories of her recent dream came flooding back to her. Five of those bipedal creatures died in that dream.
One of them she was sure had his windpipe broken and must have choked to death. The other four that came into the room with the "devil", as Fluttershy came to start calling that one, also met grizzly ends. Everything happened so fast it was hard to tell in the dream exactly what happened, but she knew they were dead. The last one was without a doubt dead.
The blood on the devils mouth and the bit of flesh hanging from his teeth didn't leave room for any hope.
Then there was the fiery explosion.
Fluttershy felt sick to her stomache. Why was she having these awful dreams! What did they mean? She looked to Angel bunny and saw that look of worry on his face. Maybe he was right. Maybe she did need help.
"Um, I...I think I might mention something to Twilight tomorrow. I mean, if she isn't too busy."
Angel bunny cocked his eyebrow as if to say, "Oh really?"
Fluttershy sighed, "Ok, ok, your right. I need to get some help with this. Maybe she has a spell that can make the bad dreams go away. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask."
The rabbit nodded his head, happy he finally got through to Fluttershy. He already knew though he would probably have to be there in the morning to make sure Fluttershy actually went to go see her friends and asked them for help though.
Fluttershy snuggled back into bed and just lied their in her sheets too afraid to close her eyes. She didn't want to go back to sleep. She didn't want to go back to that awful place full of those awful rows of caged doors filled with all those strange awful creatures. She didn't want to see those awful cold blue eyes staring back at her in the darkness. She didn't want to see that awful bloodstained grin.
Or the flesh that hung from its teeth.
