//-------------------------------------------------------// Burned -by Key4Hope- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Rumors //-------------------------------------------------------// Rumors Twilight's impact on the world had an large impact people had followed the example that she had set about friendship.  There were problems every now, and,then, but none of them were as bad as it was when Sunset Shimmer had turned the school to her personal dictatorship.  Rumors about several of the girls turning into human-horse hybrids for a short period of time were just that. Rumors. Everyone who had seen the girls all said that someone had made up something while they were drunk, or high, and that's what what everyone believed.  Everyone swore to each other that if anyone had asked about it they were to say that it was lie. Principle Celestia had heard a request for someone to talk to here and accepted. " Celestia this man wants to talk to you?"  She heard the woman who had entered the room with the man, she was nervous while talking. " Okay, thank you miss. Miranda you may leave." The principle said, and the lady left.  Celestia looked up at the man who wanted to talk, he had black hair, and a peach color skin, his hair partially covered his left eye, he had a necklace, that looked worn ought, and had a light blue jacket with ,multiple black marks across it's side.  Celestia noticed his brown eye's they seemed to be trembling in wither fear, or anger.  She couldn't understand why. " Hello, I'm Canterlot Highs principle, what did you want to talk about?"  She questioned. " Sorry,.. I'm Void, and I want to talk about your "rumor"."  Void had said with confidence in his voice. " Oh.."  Celestia had stopped with anger expressed on her face.  " Look, I'm sorry, it's just some student's that were.." " No i'm here to talk about what had happened on the Fall Formal, it's a school dance for this school I think?"  Celestia had heard people coming in and asking before and she was ready to wave him off like before. " That has, and always has been a rumor, look if there's."  She was stopped and Void spoke. " Rumors can be a powerful thing you know?  People have gone to do good, or terrible things based on a rumor." Celestia paused an looked up.  No one who had came to talk to her about the incident had stopped her. " Look I don't know what you heard but why do you want to believe in a rumor started by a stranger?" She said in hope he wouldn't be able to respond and he'd leave.  Celestia feared what would happen to her if someone had found out what happened that night, and authorities would investigate and they would find out what happened to the girls, and the girls... well wouldn't remain. " If it's just a normal rumor that someone started, how did it spread so far?  It came to the point of getting out of the country before it began to die down."  Celestia thought for a second and replied to Void. " So, you are willing to believe that six of our students turned into human-pony hybrids, and defeated a demon.  WHICH I might add the demon was also one of our students?"  Celestia remained in her seat, waiting for his reply, he chuckled and laugh. " Just as professional as I thought you would be."  Celestia raised an eyebrow, and Void turned and headed for the door "Thank you for answering my question."  He then left the office. Void waited for the day to end, when the student's all left only one remaned.  He saw kids leave for the buses and the doors close for the school building.  All of the staff was gone, but he knew there was still one more person in the school.  He waited ti'll the  sun was about to set, he saw the last student open the doors, and saw that she was a girl, and she pulled out a book to pry the door open.  Void looked at her, she had peach skin like his, and she had a black jacket with a yin yang symbol on her shirt.  She sat on the bleachers that were on the schools soccer field. He walked up to her, and she noticed him, and she raised an eyebrow. " What are you doing here?  You do know school ended hours ago right?" said Void. " Why are you asking questions to someone who you just saw?"  he then cracked a small grin and spoke. " Well,I'm pretty sure you heard about the rumor that, you turned into a giant red demon, and almost killed everyone."  Before the lady could respond Void continued " I'm pretty sure you're annoyed with people talking about that, but I know that there is much more to it then JUST that. " Would, you mind telling me how you got here."  She took a few seconds and responded.  She took a few seconds and responded. " I came on a bus." " Were you born here?" " Yes, I was born here, and a I've been attending this school for years." said Sunset Shimmer, she had a hint of anger in her voice." " Hmm... that's funny, are you gonna answer me?"  She then shot him a glare and responded. " Look, I don't know you, or why you're here, but I suggest that you stop here, and let that rumor go.  Your're gonna make yourself look like a retard if you become addicted to that rumor."  Void made a small laugh, and began to speak "No...your telling me that you came out of no where an start attending school.  Now the both of us can stare at each other, until someone drops dead, so why don't you tell me how you got here Sunset Shimmer."  Sunset Shimmer was surprised she didn't tell him here name, and no intention of saying her name.  She got off the bleachers and walked to the the building. " Are you gonna answer my question!"  Void shouted. Sunset Shimmer continued to walk toward the school, she then closed the door.  Void stood there, his face showed his anger, but he began to make an attempt to calm himself, when he finished calming myself, he began to make a small laugh and made another grin. After he calmed himself he began to walk down the street eventually he made it toward a bar, and entered.  It wasn't as crowded as it usually was making it better for Void, he then turned his head to the left, he saw a man in a army jacket with a white shirt.  He walked towered the mans table sat down.  He began to drink his beer and turned to Void and asked a question. " Who are you?" " I'm Void." " Are you from that stupid high school." " No, why would you ask that?" " The kids down there are always giving each other nicknames."  Void wanted to find a way to continue there conversation.  So he asked a question. " Are you a retired marine, because you have the army symbol on it?" said Void.  The man pounded on the table in anger, and spoke. " No,..and don't call me a marine." " Well,...will you mind telling me your name?" " My name...is Jack, and you should stop asking questions." Jack was getting annoyed and too another sip of his drink. " Well,..what's wrong with asking questions?  Surely every living thing is used to questions?"  Void said.  Jack quickly looked up at him and said " You're talking to a trained army marine, stop asking questions, or I will knock you flat!"  Jack had anger in his voice, and void replied. " I thought that you said that you didn't want to be called a marine?" Void had a grin on his face while talking.  Jack's face quickly turned to anger, then it diminished, as if he didn't care. " What do you want."  Jack said without care.  Void quickly answered as if he was waiting for him to ask. " What happened to you when you heard about that 'rumor' about the Fall Formal.  Jack had a shocked expression. " You should know.., every,single person in the country was talking about it." " I know the story, but I don't know your's."  Jack sighed after he heard Void. " Fine...a year ago, when that rumor started to spread out of the state.  I was a marine and was in charge of training those who wanted to join, and occasionally I would be called out into action, with my squad, which also helped train.  We began to hear about some rumor, about pony thing, that apparently went through a portal,came out the other side of our world, but if that wasn't enough!"  Jack took a few seconds to catch his breath and took a drink.  " That pony human girl, had to get her crown back in a few days, because it had powers in it or some crap like that.  After that some girl named Sunset,...something.  Got a hold of the crown and became a demon, and she was defeated by six girls that transfor..."  Jack stopped and couldn't hold his laughter in, he began pounding on the table while laughing.  He stopped laughing and continued " Well,..well you that story.  So when I heard it I couldn't stop laughing, a few days later my daughter was diagnosed with cancer....I..I couldn't believe it.  After a while I kept thinking about it for,.. some reason, I convinced myself that it was true.  I't began to make sense to me for me you know because."  Jack was interrupted and Void began to talk. " Because of that hole that was produced in the school, the pony girl disappearing, and some of those teens having memory prob;ems for a few weeks." " Yeah,..exactly.  I became obsessed with it, I though that if I could find out where she came from.  I could have had one of them... I don't know prolong her life for years.  After I became obsessed with the rumor I was disbanded from the army, and so was my squad, because my squad tried to keep me from leaving, doing so they disobeyed a lot of orders, and they were kicked out of the army.  Now I can"t even visit my child, because her mother divorced me and made sure I couldn't come into contact of my daughter."  Jack was finally finished telling the story, and Void spoke. " Why did your squad try to keep you from leaving?" " We grew up all nine of us lived in the same neighborhood.  We've been through a lot of hell, nothing can tear us apart,..not anymore."  Both of them remand silent for a while until Void asked him one last question. "  What do you plan on doing today?"  Jack responded in a rather happy voice. " I don't know, maybe I'll pay my friend a visit, I've got nothing left to lose, so I don't know what to do with my life anymore." " Well, what if I told you, that you were right about that rumor."  Jack began to spit out a small portion of his beer. " Wha... what?" " Follow me and I'll prove to you that everything you said is true, and can come true. " Um.. exactly why should I follow you." " Hmm, good point."  They left he bar and began walking soon nothing, but the blue moonlight  giving them light.  They walked into an a alley way it had no windows, and had only one exit. " Okay so what did you want to show me."  Void quickly went in front of him and spoke. " No matter what, you can't freak out, or tell anyone you know." Jack nodded, and Void closed his eyes.  He made fists with his hands, and soon a yellow light began to spiral around him.  Jack took a step back, and soon Void was surrounded by the yellow light.  Soon a flash of light caused jack to close his eyes.  He looked forward and his mouth dropped.  Void was no longer there, instead was a pony half his size with a brown mane and grey fur and a horn extending from his head.  Jack tried to speak "V-Void?" " Yeah?" " Holy...Crap."  Void then quickly turned himself back into a human with another flash of light. " Your a pony?!"  Jack said shocked. " I don't like to be called that anymore." Void said with a grin on his face. " You..were a pony this whole time?!" " Yes, but if I straight up and told you, you would probably think I was drunk." " So.. you can help my daughter?" " No, but."  Void was quickly pushed against the wall, and Jack shouted at his face. " WHY NOT" He then punched Void in his stomach." WHY CAN"T YOU!"  Void quickly knocked down Jack, and punched his face. " CALM DOWN!" " WHY CAN"T YOU HELP MY DAUGHTER!" " LOOK" Void then  then took a second to calm himself " I can't because only some unicorns, or pony's can.  I wasn't trained to be a doctor.  Believe me when I say this,I would help you kid in a heartbeat."  At this point Jack had calmed himself down, and spoke. " Then why did you bring me out here." " Because, if you help me do something, I can get help for your kid." " What?" " Just listen, there are doctors where I'm from, that can do what is impossible here."  Jack shot a look at Void and said " Have they found a cure for cancer?" " Well...no." " Then how can they help my daughter." " Here how long can doctors prolong her death from cancer like three, four years at the most?  The ponies there, they can keep someone alive for much longer periods.  Your child can live to her late 50's at the very LEAST!" " How do I know you're not lying?"  Void looked at him and made a worried smile. " Did you see what I did, or at all hear what that pony girl did and still ponies like that can do much greater things.?!" " So you want me to believe that all of this that you're saying is true, and that you're not messing with my head."  Void sighed, and took a few seconds to responded. " Look, you're a father, and I know how it feels to not help your kid.  You feel as if you failed the one job that you had, and that you disappoint them.  But, if there was a chance to save your kid, you and I would take it in a heartbeat.  Do you want to save your kid?" Void had finished talking, and Jack had remand silent for a minute thinking it over. " What would we be doing?"  Void grinned and spoke. " Let's get things straight what were doing, were gonna take this thing one step at a time first we would need to find out where the portal is, and the only one that knows where it is, Sunset Shimmer." " So I guess that we can't just go up ask huh."  said Jack sarcastically. " No, we need to get it from her by force." " So you want me and you to go in there and just take her?" " No, now just hear me out on this okay?  We get a few firearms and." Void was suddenly cut off and Jack shouted. " So you want us to go in ta school gun'z a blazing, and KILL everyone so she'll tell us where the portal is!?"  Jack was grabbed by Void and shoved him against the wall. " NO,...I DON'T KILL THE INNOCENT."  "  We get firearms to strike fear here, we don't use them unless we are fired upon, no other reason what so ever, do you hear me?"  Void let go of Jack and he was shocked by his sudden burst of rage, but he quickly responded. " Sorry,...but, where are we going to get guns, it's not like I'm going to have my weapons from the army." " We go to a gun store, I know that there's one about fifteen miles out of town.   Do you have a truck?" " Yes, it's parked at the bar."  They began to walk back to the bar, and went into the truck. On the way to the gun store, Void instructed where Jack should turn, and what rode to take.  Jack, asked Void a question " Are you sure that no one is going to die?"  Void remand silent until he began to speak " My job was to make sure that the innocent stay protected, and I promised that I would protect those who couldn't protect themselves.  Those who I once knew as 'friends turned on me', and along with their quote on quote princess.  They murdered my family, and .."  Void couldn't finish, but he built up enough courage to finish. "  The point is, that no one here will die, I'm sure of it, I can't stop murder all together but while we are here there will be no bloodshed.  I've seen enough of that happen already.  For me the only one's that need to die are those that cause kill for no reason."  Jack stayed silent for the rest of the drive.  He had many more questions, about what they would be doing in the other world, and how they were going to fight there.  After about a half-hour they arrived at the gun store which was named " The Armory".  Jack asked a question. " How are we supposed to get those guns, it's not like you carrying solid gold block's to buy them.  Why do we need them any way, besides using them at the school? " We need them to be prepared, when we get to the other world, we'll need them to protect ourselves.  Were gonna knock him out, tie him, and threaten to kill him.  I'll grab him, you'll knock him out, when I do this"  Void raised three fingers in the air. " Let's go, and I wan't to make this quick as possible."  They left the truck and entered the gun store.  The man at the front counter was the only one there. " Hey,.. you guys are a bit late, I'm closing the place up so get out of hear."  He looked to be in his mid thirties and had his head shaved.  Jack was the first to reply. " Can you make an exception we won't be here long."  The man at the counter remand silent for a few seconds, and answered " Fine."  Jack looked around the display case had Glock's, Colt's, and Desert Eagles, on the walls were sniper rifles, and shotguns.  Jack went to the left were ammo was, while Void kept looking at the front display, where the pistols were.  He noticed one of the fire arms was different, he noticed one pistol was different, it was a black desert eagle, with a red bio hazard symbol on the side.  The man noticed that Void was starring at it. " Oh,.. your looking at my pistol."  He then picked it up and showed him. " This one's mine, it was a custom made by me." Void spoke " It shows looks like you put a lot of effort into making it." " Yeah you know if you want after you buy one you can come back tomorrow, and I can-"  The man was suddenly cut off.  Void had grabbed his head, and smashed it into the glass display.  The glass shattered, and the man was knocked out  Jack heard and it caused him to shout. " What happened to the signal!" " Sometimes you need to improvise!,  Look just grab a pistol and load it with ammo, hurry!  Before he wakes up!"  Jack found a Colt M1911 and loaded the clip with the ammo that he saw on the display case to the left.  Void looked down and saw that the black desert eagle with the bio hazard mark still on the counter.  He picked it up and put it in his pocket.  Void heard the man grumble by then Jack had come back and put the gun five inches away from the mans face.  The man woke up and was in a panic when he saw the gun. "Woah! Woah! Woah!" " Shut up! Just calm down!" " Get that thing out of my face!"   Void left and walked towards the bullets, he heard the two banter about letting the man go.  He picked up a box of shotgun shells, and saw a can of gasoline.  He walked back to the two where the argument was getting louder. "-what are you doing?!"  The man had noticed Void with the shotgun shells.  Void began to put the box of shells down to his face, and proceeded to cover them in gasoline, when he finished Void pulled pulled out a lighter. " Woah, man what are you doing!?"  The man was afraid, but was angry after a gun was put to his head. " We want every single fire arm, and we need them now.  You do know what happens when you light a bullet on fire right?" " I'm not gonna give you every single, and get that peace of crap out of my face!" " Do you know what happens when you set a bullet on fire?"  Void lowered his lighter closer  to the shells.  Te man was bleeding, but he also began to swear from the fear he would kill him.  He was about 5 cm's from the shells.  Until the man finally gave into the pressure. " OKAY OKAY TAKE EVERYTHING YOU WANT OKAY!"  Void didn't stop the lighter, he just got closer. " Void...Void!  He said we can have everything we need just stop!  You won't tell anyone will you!"  The man shook his head to left and right.  " SEE?! Void!"  Void looked at them, with a smirk on his face, as if he went insane. " I'm doing you a favor" he then made a slight laugh  " If I kill you now, you'll at least know how you die, death hides around every corner.  It waits until you're ready, and then it takes you away.  If I kill you now I'll be doing you a favor, you'll at least know how you're going to die."  Void then made a slight laughed. " Void.. SNAP OUT OF IT!"  Void then put the lighter away, and picked the man up and spoke " You will take the security tags of these guns, and you won't tell anyone, do you understand me?"  The man shook his head repeatedly and began to take tags off guns, and they began to put the guns into the truck in loads.  By the time they were done there wasn't anything left.  Jack left and went into the truck, Void stayed behind and warned the man " If you even tell a living sole what happened here, I will come back and kill you the way I was about to, so please don't." Void left the building, and got into the truck, the second he did Jack looked at him with anger in his eyes " What was that!" " Look I'm sorry, but I saw an opportunity to get the-" " NO!   I'm talking about almost blowing off that man's face.  You were insane!  It looked like you wanted the walls to be painted with blood!"  Jack had screamed in front of Void in his anger, and was left with only one thing to ask. " Why were you about to kill him!" " I don't know..that never happened before." " How do you not know what it is!" " Look, it helped us get what we needed.  It's been a long day for the both of us, all we need to do now is rest, and meet back up at the bar tomorrow.  You can drive home I can walk home, just make sure that no one see's that we have guns."  Void got out of the truck, but before he could leave Jack stopped him. " You're about to give me what I've always wanted for my daughter, and yet not once have I asked you why you wanted me?" " You seemed to be an okay guy, despite all that's been said about you." " Yeah, but what do you want out of all of this?"  Void stood silent, for thirty seconds, ans answered Jack with a grin on his face. " I want revenge on Princess Celestia."
