Chapters I'll Prove That I'm Special!
Scootaloo buzzed her wings as she sped through Ponyville on her scooter making her way to the cutiemark crusader clubhouse. She grinded on ledges and found a wooden board that's always laying on a rock. Scootaloo rode up the ramp and did a backflip in the air and landed back on the ground.
I have to hurry or I'm going to be late for the meeting.
She rode as fast as she could.
Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom were sitting in front of the clubhouse talking about things to do for their cutiemarks.
"Maybe we could try karate." said Sweetie Belle.
"Ah didn't do to well when ah tried that." said Apple Bloom.
"How about baking?"
"Nah."
"Camping?"
"We already tried that with our sisters."
"Dressmaking?"
"Maybe"
"I can't think of anything else." said Sweetie Belle.
"How about singing?" asked Apple Bloom.
"I guess we could." said Sweetie Belle
"Hey look Sweetie Belle! There's Scootaloo!"exclaimed Apple Bloom.
Scootaloo quickly stopped in front of her friends.
"Hi Scootaloo." said Sweetie Belle.
"Hey guys." said Scootaloo.
"We were waitin' fer ya! What were ya doin' all morning?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Hehe...I accidentally overslept."
Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom face-hoofed.
"So what do you guys want to do to earn our cutiemarks today?"
"We going to be singers!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
"We already tried that. Remember the talent show?" said Scootaloo.
"I remember, but we're going to sing individually."said Sweetie Belle.
"Ok, then. What are we waiting for?"
"CUTIEMARK CRUSADERS SINGERS YAY!"
The Cutiemark Crusaders went to a busy shopping center in the middle of Ponyville.
"Ok girls! Who wants to sing first?"asked Scootaloo.
"None of you! We don't want to hear your horrible voices!"
The CMC turned around to meet the eyes of two stuck up rich fillies known as Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
"Great it's them." Scootaloo thought.
"Did you stupid blank flanks already forget about the talent show?"said Diamond.
"No we didn't forget, but we're doing something different this time."said Sweetie Belle.
"Go ahead and sing then, you'll never get your cutiemarks since you'll never do anything right!"Silver Spoon said as she and Diamond
Tiara walked away. The two fillies didn't walk far though, they wanted to watch the CMC if they failed at singing.
"I'll sing first!"said Sweetie Belle. She wasn't the bravest pony in Equestria, but she really wanted to prove Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon wrong.
"Ok! What're ya going to sing?"asked Apple Bloom.
"Hmm... how about the Cutiemark Crusaders theme song!"said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah" said Apple Bloom and Scootaloo.
Sweetie Belle cleared her throat and began to sing. As she sang the theme song, ponies started to crowd around her and Diamond
Tiara and Silver Spoon's jaws dropped.
"She's really good Diamond! She might actually get her cutiemark!"
"Don't worry about it Silver Spoon! Those other two still won't have their cutiemarks."said Diamond Tiara.
"Everypony look! A music cutiemark!" After the pony shouted all Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon heard were a loud screams of excitement.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I GOT MY CUTIEMARK!"
"We should get Pinkie Pie to throw ya a party!"
Sweetie Belle's cutiemark was a small pink heart with many musical notes floating around the edges of it.
"Now that Sweetie Belle has her cutiemark she could help us get our cutiemarks by giving us tips on what we should do!" said Apple Bloom.
"Yeah." Scootaloo said hanging her head.
The CMC headed to sugercube corner to set up Sweetie Belle's party.
"That party was pretty fun. I still can't believe Sweetie Belle got her cutiemark. Why am I not happy for her? Why am I not excited? What's this horrible feeling that I have? I hope it's nothing." thought Scootaloo.
Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom met up at the clubhouse the next day.
"That party was fun! I still can't believe that you got your cutiemark, Sweetie Belle!" exclaimed Apple Bloom.
"Yeah." said Scootaloo.
"So are you guys going to do for your cutiemarks?"asked Sweetie Belle.
"Hmm... how about carpentry?"said Apple Bloom.
"Ok." said Scootaloo.
"What are you going to build though?"asked Sweetie Belle.
"I know!" exclaimed Apple Bloom.
"What?" asked Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
"We can build a bird house!" said Apple Bloom.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" said Sweetie Belle.
"CUTIEMARK CRUSADERS CARPENTERS YAY!"
The Cutiemark Crusaders gathered all of the supplies needed to make a bird house.
"Let's get started!" exclaimed Apple Bloom.
"Where does this piece go?" asked Scootaloo.
"Oh! That's the wall. Ya have ta put it right here and then put the other wall over there and..." Apple Bloom finished the bird house with
ease. Then a small glow flashed on her flank and a cutiemark appeared. "OH MY CELESTIA! I GOT MY CUTIEMARK!" exclaimed
Apple Bloom.
"That's so cool Apple Bloom!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
Apple Bloom's cutiemark was a half of an apple shaped like a heart with a red paint brush in it.
"How did ah get a painting cutiemark if I built the bird house?" asked Apple Bloom.
"Maybe it means creativity." said Sweetie Belle.
"Oh! That makes sense!" said Apple Bloom.
"Now only one crusader has to get there cutiemark." said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah! We'll help you get yer cutie mark Scootaloo." said Apple Bloom.
"Thanks guys! I guess we'll start tomorrow after school, then!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Yeah!" they all exclaimed.
"I really hope that everything goes well at school tomorrow. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon will probably start bullying me again, but this time I'll be all alone." Scootaloo had sped all the way to the orphanage and went to her room. "I hope tomorrow won't be as bad as I think it will be." thought Scootaloo. She doesn't know how right she is.

"Hey Apple Bloom! Hi Sweetie Belle!" Scootaloo said as she sped towards her friends.
"Hi Scootaloo!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
"I can't wait until after school! I bet I'll get my cutiemark just as fast as you girls!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Speaking of that, ah think that ya might get yer cutiemark in something that has ta do with flying." said Apple Bloom.
"Yeah! You might even be as fast as Rainbow Dash! It'll be so exciting!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
"Ok everypony! Time to come into class!" Ms. Cherilee said as the class came into the school. "I have an important announcement. Since a lot of you already have your cutiemarks you will have to give a presentation about it next week explaining how you got it and what it means. Any questions?"
Scootaloo raised her hoof.
"Yes, Scootaloo?"
"What if we don't have our cutiemark?" asked Scootaloo.
"If you don't have your cutiemark than you can do a presentation on what you think your cutiemark will be or on a cutiemark that you think is cool as long as it's a cutiemark of somepony that is not in this class." explained Ms. Cherilee. "Anymore questions?"
Nopony raised their hoof.
"Ok then class. Today's lesson will be on the different types of magic that each type of pony has. Let's start with an earth pony. They are a lot more connected to nature than any other pony. That's why they are naturally strong when they are born and are better at planting flowers and growing food. Next is the unicorn. A unicorn is filled with magical energy. When they cast a spell some of that energy gets directed to their horn which causes it to glow. Once they aim the spell at something or somepony, the magic will change the object or pony. What the spell does depends on what type of spell they cast. Lastly is the magic of a pegasus. Pegasi are linked with the forces of nature. Pegasi can manipulate clouds to make any shape, create wind, storms, and rainbows, and fly faster than an earth pony can run if they practiced hard enough. Of course, that's only a little bit of information about the three types of ponies, so by next week, I'll test everyone on the type of pony that they are, so everypony should learn as much as they can about their race."
"Lunchtime everypony." said Ms. Cherilee.
"Hey, Silver Spoon?" Diamond Tiara said.
"Yeah?" said Silver Spoon.
"You know how pegasi can move clouds, right?" Diamond Tiara said.
"Yeah, I know." said Silver Spoon.
"Since we bully that flightless blank flank, don't you think that if she learns how to fly than we'll have to put up with being electrocuted everyday because we bully her. I mean, she knows that she's useless since she's the only filly with out a cutiemark and she's a flightless pegasus! That's the most useless type of pony ever! We don't even need pegasi. All they do is just fly around moving clouds and racing! What good is that? They should just fly back to wherever they came from! What's that place called? Clouds-something. Pegasi are just pony-birds with no goals in life except for racing and flying. We should make all of the pegasi in Ponyville leave!" said Diamond Tiara.
"How will we do that? Even if they are useless they won't let us get to their heads." said Silver Spoon.
"Don't worry! We can find a way to drive every Pegasus away. I already have a plan! If we drive the most important pegasi away, the others will probably follow them, especially if they have to deal with us." said Diamond Tiara.
"What if their friends find out? We'll get in a lot of trouble." said Silver Spoon.
"Stop worrying, Silver. We'll make sure their friends don't find out. So, are you in?" asked Diamond Tiara.
"...yes." said Silver Spoon.
"Good. We'll take out the first target since we see her everyday." said Diamond Tiara.
"Who is the first target?" asked Silver Spoon.
"Scootaloo."
Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle all went to a picnic table.
"So what did you have in mind to help me fly Apple Bloom?" asked Scootaloo.
"I thought that we could ask Rainbow Dash to teach you how to fly since we aren't pegasi." explained Apple Bloom.
"Wow! Now I really can't wait until after school!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Wow! Did you here that Silver Spoon? The most useless pegasus in Equestria is going to try to fly! Like that could ever happen." said Diamond Tiara.
"Yeah! That blank flank chicken couldn't fly for her useless life." said Silver Spoon.
"Whoever said that I couldn't fly? I just need to learn. It's not as easy as flapping your wings, you know. Also, I will get my cutiemark! You'll see!" said Scootaloo.
"Yeah, sure. That will definitely happen." Diamond Tiara said sarcastically.
You don't know what's coming to you! By next week, you'll never want to be seen in public, again! Diamond Tiara thought while smirking evilly.
Scootaloo sped out of school on her scooter with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle in a wagon hooked on to the back of the scooter to find Rainbow Dash.
"I can't wait to see the look on Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's faces when they see that I can fly and that I got my cutiemark!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Yeah!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom.
"What're you girls yelling about?"
Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom looked to their left to see Rainbow Dash flying beside them.
"Hi Rainbow Dash!" exclaimed Scootaloo as she slowed down her scooter to a stop.
"We were lookin' fer ya Rainbow." said Apple Bloom.
"We wanted to know if you could teach Scootaloo how to fly so that she could earn her cutiemark." explained Sweetie Belle.
"So can you?" asked Scootaloo.
"Sure! We can start right now!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
I'll Prove That I'm Special!
Scootaloo ran as fast as she could to school, but wasn't in the best condition ever. She had mud covering her hooves and face thanks to the gardener spraying the dirt road in front of the orphanage with water and she lived a long way from school so she was pretty tired. It didn't seem to bother her when she had her scooter, though. When she rides on her scooter she goes 10x as fast as she would go on ground.
I don't care what it takes! I'm getting my scooter back from those two! I HATE THEM!
Scootaloo ran even faster as she neared the school. She was ready to pound those two bullies silly. After a couple of minutes, she finally reached school. She ran through the door not caring if she interrupted class.
"What did you do to my scooter?" Scootaloo asked as she walked up to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
"What are you talking about Scootaloo? We're your bestest friends. Why would we steal from you?" Diamond Tiara said with as much innocence as possible.
"Maybe because you aren't my 'bestest friend' and you always want to pick on me because I can't fly and I don't have my cutiemark." said Scootaloo, letting some anger show.
"Girls! What are you two talking about?" asked a concerned Cherilee.
"Were just talking about how Scootaloo is going to bring in pizza for everypony tomorrow!" exclaimed Silver Spoon.
"What I didn-" Scootaloo was cut off by Cherilee.
"That's not what it sounded like." said a confused Cherilee.
"That's because they sto-" Scootaloo was cut off again by Diamond Tiara.
"It's our secret code. Do you know what else she said?" Diamond Tiara whispered something in Cherilee's ear. Cherilee gasped loudly.
"Scootaloo! How dare you say such a thing! Detention for the rest of the school year!" yelled Cherilee.
"WHAT! I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT DIAMOND TIARA TOLD YOU! SHE'S THE ONE MAKING UP STORIES! SHE'S THE ONE WHO STOLE MY SCOOTER! SHE'S ALSO THE ONE WHO BULLIES ME BECAUSE I HAVE NO CUTIEMARK AND I CAN'T FLY! WHAT KIND OF TEACHER ARE YOU TO LET THIS HAPPEN?!?!" yelled a very angry Scootaloo.
"Scootaloo! Lower your voice when you speak to me!" exclaimed Cherilee. Then she turned to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. "I'm sorry girls. She's probably just having a bad day. Don't worry. She won't bother you anymore." Cherilee said calmly.
WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU MS. CHERILEE?! thought Scootaloo.
"Go on back to your seats Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. I'll deal with Scootaloo. When Cherilee turned around she saw Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle rush to Scootaloo's side.
"Ms. Cherilee, Ah'm sorry, but we have ta side with Scootaloo on this." said Apple Bloom.
"Yeah, we're the only ones who know what she has to through with those two." Sweetie Belle pointed to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
"Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, I know that your her friends, but this conversation doesn't concern you." said Cherilee sternly.
"Yes it does! It concerns them as much as it concerns me! In fact, it doesn't concern you so get out of this problem since YOU AREN'T ANY HELP AT ALL!" Scootaloo yelled at Cherilee.
"Scootaloo you don't understand the-" Cherilee was cut off by Scootaloo.
"NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW IMPORTANT MY SCOOTER WAS! DO YOU KNOW WHY I WAS LATE FOR SCHOOL? I WAS LOOKING FOR MY SCOOTER! DO YOU KNOW WHY I HAVE MY HELMET STRAPPED TO MY HEAD? IT'S THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING LEFT THAT I HAVE! DON'T YOU WATCH US AT LUNCHTIME? DON'T YOU SEE THE BULLYING? THE STEALING? THE BROKEN HEARTS? THE STORM CLOUDS THAT HANG ABOVE OUR HEADS EVERY DAY? DO YOU KNOW WHO DOES THIS ALL? DIAMOND TIARA AND SILVER SPOON! Then again, you probably won't listen to me. You'll probably try to defend them for whatever reason. Well you know what?" said Scootaloo.
"W-What?" said Cherilee.
"I'm done." said Scootaloo.
"What do you mean?" said Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom.
"I'm done with school. If nobody wants to believe me then I'm done. I'm never coming back to school again. EVER!" said Scootaloo as she started to walk out of the door. "Oh! By the way, 'bestest friends' where's my scooter?"
Diamond Tiara was enjoying every minute of this.
"Where is it?" Scootaloo asked again.
"Let me get it." Diamond Tiara said innocently.
Diamond reached into her saddlebag and took out her scooter.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SCOOTER?!?!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"I might've scratched it up a bit." said Diamond Tiara, preparing for an outburst. The scooter was worse than 'scratched up'. It was broken up and burned by fire. Scootaloo chuckled.
"I should've known that you would break and burn it. It doesn't matter now. I got your message. I'm useless. I'm a blank-flank. I can't fly. I have no family. I have only a three best friends and no more because nopony wants to hang out with me. But you know what? This useless flightless blank-flank orphan with only three best friends is done with all of the bullying. Time to get real. I'm going to prove to you that I am useful! That I can fly! That I do have my cutiemark! That I'm not an orphan! That I don't have only three best friends! I'm going to prove that I'm AWESOME! I'm going to prove that I'm NOT A PUSHOVER! I'LL PROVE THAT I'M SPECIAL!" exclaimed Scootaloo as she took the pieces of her scooter and took off.
"Did she just...quit school?" asked Cherilee.
Scootaloo rushed to the clubhouse to wait for Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle to get there.
She waited...
and waited...
and waited...
After an hour, she saw them running to the clubhouse.
"Finally! What took you two so long?" asked Scootaloo.
"Well after ya left, we explained everything we could that could help the situation and Ms. Cherilee was so angry at Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon! She said that she was goin' ta punish them fer makin ya quit school and told us ta try ta get ya back in school so that she could help you." explained Apple Bloom.
"Don't even bother! I'm never going back in there. Anyway, can you fix my scooter?" said Scootaloo.
"Your not going to run away are you?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Don't worry! I'm just running away from the orphanage after I take a few things." said Scootaloo.
"What if ya get caught?" asked Apple Bloom.
"I doubt that I'll get caught. I've done this plenty of times before I went to the orphanage." said Scootaloo.
"Where will you go?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"I'll live with Rainbow Dash!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"But ya can't fly." stated Apple Bloom.
"I'm going to learn." stated Scootaloo.
"Well, I don't have anymore questions so let's start crusading!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
Scootaloo entered the orphanage and went to her room. She had 'borrowed' a large saddlebag from a store because she lost hers. She stuffed two blankets and a pillow in one side of the saddlebag and snuck into the kitchen. Then she stuffed as much food as she could into the other side of the bag and strapped it on.
I might need a weapon.
Scootaloo took a knife from the kitchen and ran to her scooter and helmet outside. She attached the wagon to her scooter so that she wouldn't have to carry everything on her back. When she made sure everything was secure, she strapped on her helmet, hopped onto her scooter, and sped off.
Rainbow Dash is probably asleep in her cloud house and yelling will probably get me noticed, so I'll have to camp out in the clubhouse or something.
Scootaloo sped to Sweet Apple Acres and tried her best to stay as quiet as she could. Eventually, she reached the clubhouse. Scootaloo set up her blankets and pillow and put everything else in a corner. She finally slept after a very long night.
Scootaloo woke up at sunrise. She had a lot to do today, but she needed food first. She took a daisy and some bread from her bag and made a daisy sandwich.
What should I start with first? Hmm...maybe I'll ask Rainbow Dash if I could live with her. Then I'll work on flying and earning my cutiemark.
Scootaloo was about to take all of her stuff and leave, until she heard Applejack and Big Mac coming her way. She quickly climbed out of the clubhouse with all of her stuff and threw it into the wagon. She sped as fast as she could to a good hiding spot.
"Hey Big Mac? Do ya think Scootaloo is alright? RD told me about the fight at school that she had and how they couldn't find her at the orphanage. Ah hope that she's ok. Ah'm also concerned about Rainbow. As soon as she heard about Scoots, she went out ta go look fer the filly. Ah guess it makes sense, because they had to deal with the same exact hardships in fillyhood." said Applejack.
I didn't even know that Rainbow Dash cared so much. I just know that she'll be happy to see me or angry at me for running away, but it's better than seeing her worried! I have to find Rainbow Dash!
As soon as Applejack and Big Mac left to tend to the rest of the farm, Scootaloo bolted to Rainbow Dash's house.
Where could she be?! I've been looking everywhere! If Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon weren't so bratty, than I wouldn't have to look for her! I could just go to the orphanage and talk to her! I hate them! I feel bad for the filly. Fluttershy and I have dealt with the same thing in flight camp. I hope that she's ok. Rainbow Dash looked up at the sky. It's almost noon. I better get home and get ready for the picnic. Rainbow Dash flew home leaving a rainbow trail behind her.
Scootaloo waited until it was almost noon.
I don't think that she's coming home.
Scootaloo started to pack her things up, but then she felt a wave of wind.
When all hope seemed lost, Rainbow Dash appeared in the sky.
"RAINBOW DASH!!"
Rainbow Dash turned around to find who had called her name and spotted the filly she had been looking for.

Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom followed Rainbow Dash to a field under Rainbow Dash's cloud house.
"We're here!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
There was already a small flight training course set up in the sky. It had been set up in a way to improve speed, agility, and control.
"Wow! When did you make this, Rainbow Dash?" exclaimed Scootaloo as she got off of her scooter.
"I've always wanted to teach somepony how to fly so I built a small training course with some clouds that I collected when I was on weather duty." explained Rainbow Dash.
"Wow! I can't wait to fly in the course!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Then why are ya'll just standing here? Go and fly already!" said an eager Apple Bloom.
Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash went to start the training.
"I just can't wait to see Scootaloo fly! It will be so cool!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
"Do you think that she'll get her cutiemark in flyin'?" asked Apple Bloom.
"Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see." said Sweetie Belle.
"What do ya want ta do ta pass the time?" asked Apple Bloom.
"Maybe we can make a skating course for Scootaloo." suggested Sweetie Belle.
"I guess we could since she loves riding that scooter of hers, but we should make it a surprise." said Apple Bloom.
"Let's get started then!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed as she and Apple Bloom went into Ponyville's shopping center.
"Ok squirt! Show me what you got!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
Scootaloo flapped her wings as hard and as fast as she could, but only hovered in the air for a few seconds.
"How was that?" asked Scootaloo.
"The problem is that you're flapping you're wings too hard. Try flapping them softer." said Rainbow Dash.
Scootaloo flapped her wings a bit slower and felt her hooves lift off of the grass for a couple of seconds, but she subconsciously flapped her wings faster and felt the grass under her hooves again.
"What happened?" asked Scootaloo.
"You flapped your wings too fast again." explained Rainbow Dash.
"Oh." said Scootaloo.
"Let's practice some more, but this time try to control your wing speed." said Rainbow Dash.
"Ok!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
Every time Scootaloo tried to fly she couldn't get off of the ground. Eventually, time passed and the sun started to set.
"I think that's enough practice for today, Scoots. I'll be very busy this week so we'll practice next week." said Rainbow Dash.
"Ok then. See you next week!" Scootaloo said as she hopped back onto her scooter and headed to the orphanage.
"I don't want the day to end! I don't want to deal with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon tomorrow at school! I hate them! Maybe if I don't answer back to them they'll leave me alone for good."
"WHERE IS IT?!?!" exclaimed Scootaloo. "WHERE'S MY SCOOTER?!?!"
Scootaloo ran around her room trying to find her scooter only to find that it wasn't there, but her helmet was. After she double checked her room she strapped on her helmet and ran out of the orphanage to find her scooter.
"Where could it be? It must've been stolen! Who would steal my scooter, though?" Scootaloo stopped running.
"There's only two stupid ponies that I know who would steal my scooter, and when I find them, they're dead!"
Scootaloo ran as fast as she could to school.
