The young protagonist named Star is a Pegasus who's lift is completely changed while trying to make his way through a forest with his family. Left abandoned and alone to fend for himself in an orphanage full of mean children, Star runs away back to the forest that took everything from him. When he's caught, he's surprised that he doesn't know them while they freely use his name. He is then told that if he truly wishes, he can throw away his life but if he's determined, he should join the newly established Lunar Guard under Princess Luna's watch when he becomes of age.
