The Wonderbolts have always been the top Flight team in Equestria with their leader Spitfire heading them. The only ones that pose a threat to the top spot are the Shadowbolts, led by the notorious Night Blaze.

Both Captains constantly show their despise for each other at every event, making it a point to their teammates to keep their distance Yet for some reason, both captains seem to go out on solo flights those same nights. Coincidence?
