"What's this?" Apple Bloom asked no one in particular.
It was a sunny, summer morning in Fillydolphia at Apple Bloom's new apartment and Apple Bloom was eating her breakfast and checking for updates on Facebook, just like usual. Apple Bloom just found a small search bar up at the top. She clicked on the search bar, unsure of who to find. She hadn't seen some of her grade school friends in years. Apple Bloom typed "Sweetie Belle" in the bar and hit enter. One entry popped up, it was her. Apple Bloom scooped some apple oatmeal into her mouth, eager to see what her old friend was up to. Sweetie Belle's profile said that she lived in Manehattan as a fashion designer.
"She did end up makin' dresses like her sister," Apple Bloom thought aloud.
Sweetie Belle had tons of pictures of her newest dresses, but not much else, her profile was pretty bare. Her only status updates were about her upcoming fashion shows and her client's movie premieres.
"Big deal, you make dresses for a movie star," Apple Bloom muttered, starting to get jealous. "I best be movin' on to Scootaloo."
Apple Bloom typed "Scootaloo" into the search bar, and of course her friend from grade school popped up. Apple Bloom clicked on her file and looked at the general information. It said she lived in Las Pegasus in a mansion. She seemed to have come into money while gambling in local casinos. Apple Bloom was starting to feel like a total failure, seeing her friends successful lives. Apple Bloom just worked at a small pie shop downtown.
"I've gotta get together with these girls!" Apple Bloom exclaimed and picked up her cellphone.
Apple Bloom looked up their phone numbers on Facebook, thank you Internet, and dialed them into her phone, Scootaloo's first. The phone rung a few times and Apple Bloom started to worry she wouldn't be home. On the last tone, she picked up the phone.
"Scootaloo here, who is this?" Scootaloo asked.
"It's me, your old friend Apple Bloom!" Apple Bloom exclaimed
"Hey! Long time no see! What's up?"
"Oh nothing much. I was wondering if you, me, and Sweetie Belle could meet up at Sugar Cube Corner this Saturday."
"Sure! That sounds like a blast! See you there!"
"See ya!" Apple Bloom said, hanging up the phone to call Sweetie Belle.
The phone rung but Sweetie Belle didn't pick up. Apple Bloom dialed her number again, hopping to her her attention. This time, she picked the phone up.
"This is Sweetie Belle, may I ask who is talking?" Sweetie Belle asked, clearly she had picked up a Manehattan accent.
"Yea it's your old friend Apple Bloom," Apple Bloom said.
"Oh, why have you called?"
"I wanted to meet up with you and Scootaloo this Saturday at Sugar Cube Corner."
"I would love to come!"
"Great see you there," Apple Bloom said hanging up.
A thought struck Apple Bloom, causing her to run over to her bedroom. She was meeting total success', what would she wear? Apple Bloom dug through her closet, finding mostly torn and tattered clothes and trashy T-shirts. Apple Bloom knew she had to buy something nicer to wear or she would seem completely underdressed. Apple Bloom grabbed her purse off of her small coffee table and ran out to catch a taxi. Apple Bloom finally got to the cute little boutique in town and walked in, hearing a bell ring as she opened the door.
"How may I help you today?" A woman asked as Apple Bloom entered.
"I'm looking for an outfit to meet my old friends in. It needs to be classy," Apple Bloom explained.
"Come with me, I think I have the perfect thing for you," the woman said, walking towards the back of the store.
The woman looked Apple Bloom over to guess her measurements. She then grabbed a few garments and dropped them in a changing room for Apple Bloom to try them on. Apple Bloom took off her current white T-shirt and faded jeans, leaving only her bra and underwear. Apple Bloom replaced them with a sophisticated pearl colored blouse and a flashy skirt. The blouse was ... very well fitted to say the least. Apple Bloom didn't think such subtle thoughts as she put the shirt on. The skirt was only fell to about two inches below her privates and was a midnight navy blue. Apple Bloom slipped her feet into some black strapy heels and put on a pearl necklace and some pearl earrings. Apple Bloom stepped out of the changing room to ask the woman's opinion. The woman had her jaw dropped.
"Wow! You look.... Stunning," the woman said, clearly shocked that Apple Bloom could go from wearing tattered clothes to looking beautiful and high-class.
"Thanks, what do you think of the skirt?" Apple Bloom asked, feeling it was too short.
"It might be a little too long but I think you can pull it off, I'll ring you up," the woman said.
As the woman went up to the counter and Apple Bloom changed back into her old clothes and took them up to the counter. The skirt still puzzled Apple Bloom, how could something that short be too long? Apple Bloom was used to Ponyville where most everyone was very modest. This didn't seem to be the case in the bigger city of Fillydolphia. The woman charged Apple Bloom and handed her two bags of clothes. Apple Bloom took the clothes and headed home. She laid her new outfit out and got out some makeup so she would be ready to meet the girls tomorrow. Apple Bloom couldn't wait to see them again, and she couldn't wait for them to see her in her nice outfit.
