Chapter 1: Are Things Meant to Happen This Way?
Chapter 1: It's Not Fair
"Apple-Rella!!!" A loud haughty voice came booming from the upstairs bedroom "How long does is take to make a simple breakfast or do i have to come all the way downstairs and get it myself AGAIN!!!". "No Ma'am!" Apple-Rella responded firmly but sheepishly not wanting to anger her step-mother. She hurriedly brought the tray up the long flight of stairs, the goldy-blonde in her hair was now lost from stress and lack of nutrition and was now a more faded in color, her usually vibrant orange coat was now similar to that of soot and instead of a long, pretty dress like her step-sisters and step-mother wore, she was dressed in what resembled the napkin used to polish the stove... She really was a right mess.
"It's about time you brought the breakfast" Rarity said whilst holding her muzzle in disgust. " A-Ah'm sor-" Apple-Rella was interrupted by two voices she absolutely detested "What's that awful smell" spoke a cyan mare with her rainbow mane in a bun and an expression just like her mother she also was holding her muzzle in disgust as if to agree with her mother, "And what's taking the food so long" yelled a pink coated mare who appeared right beside her in a comfy looking bath-robe she too was snooty but looked to sleepy to bother expressing it. But instead of anger at their next witty comment, it just filled her with sorrow, Rain-belle the rainbow-maned blue Pegasus stared at Apple-Rella with evil eyes, whilst still holding her muzzle she trotted over to her mother Rarity "Mom I most certainly am not eating that i mean just look at her she's so unclean". " And smelly to, don't forget smelly!" Pinkeamena, the pink maned and pink coated mare, added. "Exactly She needs to be taught some lessons on hygiene, she could contaminate everything, and I am NOT gonna eat anything that's contaminated and covered in her... germs" finished Rain-Belle. "Well you do make a good point dear, Apple-Rella you should sleep in the outside shed today, and no 'If's', no 'buts', and don't you dare even argue otherwise i'll send you to the outhouse for the entire week, got it" The threatening words rang in her ears.
It wasn't the smell of the outhouse, or the wetness of the shed, but the reality that she was actual reality of being sent there. This was her own mansion not theirs' it was left for her from previous relatives, and just because her step-mother was older and was the only adult in charge she suddenly got big-headed and assumed that she was the boss of the house and everypony else apart from her own kin were her servants. But Apple-Rella was in no shape, or mood to do so, for she was also slightly frightened by the purple maned queen.
