I approached the cliff with a soccer ball in my hand, and look over the edge calmly examining the waves hitting the rocks below, the drop doesn't seem that far now that I look at it, but it's still quite a fall. I place the soccer ball on the ground and strike it hard, kicking it over the edge, counting the seconds until the ball hits the bottom 10 seconds, not a lot of time, but plenty of time for this idea to work.
I back away from the cliff and take a few deep breathes getting myself into soccer mode, then as fast as I can run toward the cliff jump over the edge.

I immediately feel the wind rush through my hair as I free fall, or is it mane? Twilight said she was a pony princess in her world, does that mean when I get my wings back I'll be some sort of Pegasus? I don't know, but I haven’t felt like this since Twilight was here and I got wings, I just know this is going to work, it has too. Life is going to get better now, I just know it. This stunt will give me back my wings.

I adjust my body so that the wind is hitting my entire body, the wind ripping at my clothes, it almost feels like I'm flying again. I had tried talking to the others after the battle with Sunset, but they were all too worried about teaching her friendship,
nobody understood how me, Rainbow Dash, the school athlete might have a problem, I guess it comes from always trying to be the best. They didn't understand that flying like I did during the dance was what I needed from my life, it was all I wanted. Soccer was still fun, but I didn't get the rush I use to get from it, I needed something more.

The others all seemed so happy with their lives, Fluttershy with Pinkie, Rarity with Applejack, and Sunset got back with
Flash after Twilight left, so I became the fifth wheel, my friends always wanting to spend more time as couples then with
their single friend. No boy wanted to date the jock girl, I didn't have the curves that they wanted, and as for girls only one gave me the time of day and she's 3 years younger than me, and that seemed to be more hero worship then romantic interest, maybe I'll ask her about that when this is over.

Fluttershy listened to me for a little while before she got together with Pinkie, then Pinkie took all her time that she wasn't taking care of her animals, also it didn't seem like she seemed to understand anyway. I suppose that even with wings she preferred staying on the ground. The second I had gotten those wings I felt like my life finally had meaning, then when Twilight left and I lost my wings, I felt like I wasn't who I was meant to be anymore.

Rarity gave me a fake pair of wings once to try and make me feel better, I told her, I needed real wings again, so I could
take to the air. Only then could I be who I was meant to be, she said it was impossible. Pinkie tried to throw me a party to make me feel better, the "you're still awesome to us" party was alright, but the wing cake just hurt deep inside. I pretended to enjoy the party for Pinkie's sake, I can't hurt my friends feelings, even if they don't always think about mine.

I asked Sunset if she had any magic left, hoping that she could give me back my wings. and she told me that she might be
able to use it in a life or death situation, but that’d be it. That’s what gave me this idea, if she could use magic in a life or death situation surely my wings would magically appear if my life was in danger, I tried asking the others what they thought, not even Pinkie would listen to me, but they all started looking at me differently after that day. Like there was something wrong with me.

After that they wouldn't leave me alone longer than necessary, it was nice having my friends around all the time, but once again i started to feel like I was interfering with that relationships. They wouldn't hear any of it though, Applejack insisted that I come by the farm for every meal, and I couldn't exactly refuse her or any of the others. Rarity always insisting on either taking me shopping or making me clothes, occasionally I'd model her clothes for her, although I didn't exactly fill out the clothes the way that she intended, so she quickly gave that idea up.

Finally I got them all to go out on dates at the same time, it wasn't exactly easy. I had to convince each couple that the other couple was going to be with me until I showed up, of course I sent them all to the same place, the senior prom, the last dance of the year, I knew they wouldn't be able to resist. I mean what girl doesn't want to go to their senior prom with there special someone? I guess they all forgot I don't' have a special someone one, cause they all expect me to show up there too. Of course in a few minutes they'll see each other at the prom and wonder where I am, why I'm not with the others

Me? I'll be flying high by then, my wings will take me all over the world. Paris, Egypt, Japan, no place in the world will be off-limits to me. I'll fly right into the prom and show them my wings, they will be speechless, that's right I'll show them that I can be right. Rainbow Dash the soccer star will fly just you wait and see.
