Chapter 1: Arriving To the Unexpected with a Rude Welcome.
Two figures walked out of an apartment, but secretly it was the S.H. Company building as one of the figures, which was humming a tune of the 5fth symphony while the other one was nodding along with his headset on as a faint loud music of Greyhound can be heard to it. It was seven in the evening and the street-lights were now light up as some of them flicker. Making the scenery looked more peaceful with no one around.
“I have not seen Aldrin since we got back here three hours ago, Daniel. I wonder where he could be.” Kenny said to Daniel with a posh British accent as they continued to walk to the streets, towards the hills.
Kenny Broundler was a British person. Six-foot-2 tall with black hair and with the hair style of Joe Gatsby. Aged nineteen, muscular body, skin peach-white and eyes light-green and wore a casual blue stripe tux and a pair of black leather combat boots.
“Daniel?” He said again, looking back at Daniel who was still nodding and looking forward. Kenny grumbled and grabbed Daniel’s Headset down to his neck surprising Daniel as he look back at Kenny.
“Dude what the hell?! You messed up my grove here!” Daniel said. Daniel Douglas was kind of a person you would meet in a club. Six foot five tall, black with blue highlight hair and a barber style haircut and only his bangs were long and pointy. Like the style of a certain character in Final Fantasy. Aged twenty-two, twice buffed as Daniel, light-brown skin and eyes blue and wearing a blue shirt layered by a black leather jacket and blue jeans with a pair of black leather combat boots. Same as Kenny
Kenny simply rolled his eyes sarcastically. “I was asking you a question you bloke, and you did not hear me with those bloody head-phone of yours. Have you seen Aldrin today? I went into his room and he was not there.” Kenny asked again to Daniel.
“For the record, it’s a headset not a headphone. And yeah, I saw him alright when I went out for coffee. He said he’d be out to the hills, bet he’s thinking about his family again.” Daniel replied, looking up to the night sky as the two of them stopped to a small gate leading towards the hills. A sign was posted to the pillar stone of it.
‘New Chicago Park’.
“I hope he’s alright up there…” Kenny said worriedly.
“Aw come on man, lighten up! Nothing would go wrong to our leader! Except the time he went berserk…” Daniel said, remembering that faithful day when Aldrin got into execution mode.
“Right… let us now continue.” Kenny opened the gates as the two of them went in, in search of Aldrin as Daniel putted on his headset again listening to Phat Brams.
-Elsewhere: Equestria 7013, Ponnyville.
“Gem? Are you still down here?” Twilight said walking down into her lab as Gem was busy connecting some circuits and covering the insides of the machine. Gem then noticed Twilight looking at the machine and smiled.
“Hey Twilight! Like what I made?” Gem asked, grinning at Twilight.
“So that’s why you always go down here. And from the looks of it, yes. But what is it?” Twilight asked. The machine was at least eight feet long. A metal arc strapped into the wall with a four step staircase as wirings to the metallic arc was connected to a five feet rectangular control panel.
“I call it the Dimensional Gateway! I designed it for future use! It’s still a prototype, but I need to test this out if it would work. And don’t worry; if this turns out wrong and would explode I’ll repair the damages and clean it up.” Gem told her as finishes connecting the electrical plugs to a small generator.
“I think I could help that.” Twilight said as Gem perked up and smiling at twilight.
“Really Twilight? You mean it?” Gem said. Looking very happy of Twilight’s offer.
“Yes, and don’t worry about the damages. It always happens when I’m experimenting some of my projects down here.” Twilight said, putting on her experimental goggles and so do Gem. “And besides; I was looking forward to every experiment and project you would do.” She told her with a smile.
“Alright then, let’s begin.” Gem then got to the control panel and pushed a glowing green button. The control panel lit into life with a holographic screen appeared in front of the panel as an uplifting hum was heard as the side of the arc lights lit up from bottom to top in ten seconds as Twilight just watched in awe.
“Alright, let’s start with…” Gem then turned up a holographic volume of a column which was entitled as ‘ELCTR’ going to a full one-hundred percentage. As that done the arc was giving off lines of electricity to each edge inside the arc.
“Then we put this up to…” The leveling up the percentages was at a good forty-two minute until Gem finished up the process and now staring at the flickering gateway as it gives out sputtering flashes.
“I-I think it’s working!” Gem said, as the gateway gave of a bright flash and a loud spark was heard as the two of them shielded both their eyes and ears with their arms. As the light dimmed, Gem looked back at her work and smiled brightly while jumping happily.
“It worked! It really worked!” Gem said, approaching towards the glowing-white gateway as a humming electrical noise emitted towards it.
Gem concentrated her focus towards the shimmering portal as Twilight got right next to her, looking at the portal as well in sheer amazement. The portal gateway showed them to a hill, a misty forest and a sun setting. Gem scanned every inch of it as something caught her eye, and there was something sitting on a hill alone as she looked at this… something. Gem gasped, rearing her head back in surprise.
“Th-there’s somepony there!” Gem said, pointing at the portal as Twilight was looking at lone creature in interest.
It was bipedal, like her and Gem, but with no wings, no horn and no fur. Well, it only had small patch of fur on its head. It got hands like she and Gem and wore clothes. Just as then the sun was gone and stars were shone to the scenery, two figures same as the one sitting on the hill appeared. They were walking towards the lone being, as the one sitting on the hill stood up, looking up to the night sky like he was thinking something. Before that happened when the figure turned to leave, the portal vanished. Giving off a sharp electrical dropping noise when gone off.
Gem’s eyes went wide in confusion when this happened as she went back to the control panel. “What the… The controls are off! How the hell did this happen?!” Gem then looked at the generator as smoke and sputtering sparks was heard.
Gem looked down, saddened at the event and to how much work she been doing for this project. But then she felt a hand on her shoulder, looking back she saw Twilight looking at her with a warm smile.
“It’s okay Gem, it was just a freak accident. It always happened to me too, but you think this up. Your project did work, but it had electricity malfunction so that’s not half bad.” Twilight said to Gem as she smiled back at Twilight.
“Y-yeah… I guess so. I think I need some rest before I fix up this stupid generator.” Gem said, glaring at the still smoking generator as like to criticize it.
“Yes, you really need some rest; you’ve been here every day for that project without any rest.” Said Twilight, chuckling a bit.
“Well, look who’s talking.” Gem laughed, playfully jabbing Twilight on the hips as Twilight laughed nervously.
Both of them got up from the lab, but not noticing a faint flash of the gateway when closing the lab door.
-Earth 2013: New Chicago Park.
Kenny and Daniel were almost at the top of the hill as Daniel put down his headset around his neck while looking up the sky. “Wow, the sky’s pretty amazing tonight.” Daniel said, nudging Kenny as he looked up as well.
“Well, it is quite beautiful isn’t it?” Kenny said, admiring the nightly sky. Kenny then looked towards the hill-top and found their target. “Ah, there he is.”
Aldrin was sitting alone there, looking towards the distant misty forest as he looked up to the night sky and stood up. Kenny and Daniel were almost there towards Aldrin, but Daniel looked up to the sky again and gasped in excitement.
“Holy crap dude look!” Daniel said, stopping Kenny as Daniel pointed something towards the sky. Kenny glared at Daniel, but obliged to look up and, to his surprise, looked at a shooting star.
“Quick! Quick! Make a wish! Hnnnnngggggg…!” Daniel said, shutting his eyes and crossed his fingers while biting his lower lip as Kenny face-palmed.
“Daniel, you are acting like a child now. But then again, why not.” Kenny said, looking back at the still visible shooting star and think hardly enough.
“So what did you wish?” Daniel said, grinning at Kenny.
“Well, there are rules that to never tell anyone their wishes.” Kenny replied.
“Aw come on! Tell you what, I’ll tell you what my wish is and you tell me yours! Simple and down-right critical!” Daniel said, looking triumphant. “I wished that hot girls would do anything to get me, and I mean ANYTHING.” Daniel said, grinning widely.
“Oh for God’s sake not this again, I told you not to say something inappropriate when it comes to women! Especially about doing something inappropriate to them!” Kenny yelled, his cheeks turned light-pink as he sighed as Daniel laughed. “And for my wish, well I would simply live in a peaceful place. Where there are no wars to be fought, no tyrants, and no other experimented persons to fight. Just simply living like a retired citizen.”
“Awww… That’s just boring. Living in a peaceful place where there is no fun? Bleagh. Well it’s your wish, not mine.” Daniel said, looking back to Aldrin. Who was struggling to get on his feet as a big ball of light was coming towards him.
Daniel’s eye went wide. “Aldrin!”
Kenny looked towards Aldrin and the ball of light that was speeding towards Aldrin and gasped. “Heavens no! Daniel, come on!”
The two of them ran towards Aldrin to help him from the incoming ball of light. But then they stopped and a look of shock of their faces as Aldrin was engulfed to the light, then he disappeared in thin air. And now the ball of light was heading towards them in a speed that they would never dodge.
The two super humans looked at each other, and back at the oncoming light. “Well, this is not looking good.” Kenny said, looking back to Daniel who was already running and screaming like a girl. “DANIEL YOU INCOMPETENT BUFFOON! WAIT FOR ME!”
Running back down the hill, both of them were still running from the ball of light. But it was gaining on them like a homing missile and it was now closing in towards them as Kenny and Daniel screamed for the last time before the both of them were engulfed by the ball of light like it did to Aldrin.
And vanished, without a trace of evidence behind.
-Equestria 7013: Ponnyville.
“Hey Rainbow Dash!” said Gem to the cyan pegasus who was leaning at the library door. Rainbow Dash then looked at Gem and smiled.
“Hey Gem! Hey Twilight!” Rainbow greeted. “I was just here to get that new book of Daring Doo. Do you still have a copy?”
“You mean ‘Daring Doo and the Quest for the Lost Ruby Alicorn’? Yes, wait here.” Twilight got towards the book shelves as she rummages. Gem perk her head, and looked back to Twilight.
“Twilight I forgot something in the lab, I’ll be right back.” Gem then went back down to Twilight’s lab.
When Gem got into the lab, she then noticed some flashes coming towards the gateway. The flashing stopped as the gateway sparked electricity as a portal began to form; without the help of the generator. Gem gasped as the portal began to glow brightly and the ground slowly began to shake.
“T-Twilight!” Gem shouted as the Plasma mover grabbed on to the sturdy control panel as the shaking intensifies. Twilight came down with a look of panic as she entered the lab, looking for Gem.
“Gem! W-what’s going on?!” Twilight exclaimed as she went towards the control panel to which Gem was holding onto as she saw the light coming towards the portal.
“How is it still functioning?! The generator broke!” Twilight said to Gem, who was still looking at the portal with a look of bewilderment.
“I don’t know! I didn’t know that this would happen! The portal just suddenly appeared there!” Gem replied, holding onto the panel as the ground kept on shaking as Twilight and Gem focusing their eyes toward the portal as it glowed brighter and brighter.
Both of them looked away as an explosion was heard as the two of them felt the powerful shockwave and slightly loss their balance as the ground stopped shaking. The two of them looked back to the gateway; which is now wrecked. Gem was about to cry at this, all her hard-work completely destroyed. But then she looked at the front of the gateway. Two figures were lying down on their stomach on the floor as their bodies were giving off steams.
Twilight and Gem gasped and went over to the two figures as they scanned them. The one Gem was looking at was wearing a blue-stripe tuxedo and a pair of combat boots. And to Twilight’s he was wearing a black leather jacket, with a headset resting on his neck, blue jeans and the same boots to the other one.
Twilight wondered that they look familiar, then it hit her; they were the creatures Gem and Twilight saw in the portal.
“Gem… I think their… those things we saw when the portal worked!” Twilight said; a look of glee in her face. ‘I can’t wait for them to give information in their world!’ Twilight thought.
“What?” Gem looked at the two, examining them closely and leaned back. “They are! Something might have happen in their world when this happened.” She said as Daniel moaned in pain.
“It might be but I don’t know, but I think they’re hurt… whatever they are. Let’s put them in my room first.” Twilight said, looking at the two creatures worriedly. Only worried that she might never get new information from extraterrestrial beings.
“Okay…” Gem began to grab the creature wearing a tux, when she his shoulder to lift him. She immediately perked up.
“What is it?” Twilight asked, lifting the other one with her magic as she heaved. “By Celestia this one is heavy…” She muttered.
“I feel weird when I touched it, it feels like… flooding emotions. Sorrow, misery, and anger were all I could feel in this thing’s presence. Whatever this thing is, we better have a close eye on them.” Gem said, able to lift the thing easily. ‘Wow, how can this thing be light?’.
“I hope so. Now let’s go, this thing here is pretty heavy.” Twilight huffed as she struggles to not drop the thing as she went upstairs followed by Gem.
‘Whatever they are, I would doubt that they would harm anypony. But if they will, we will stop them no matter what.’ Gem thought as she followed Twilight up stairs, closing the lab door and locked it.
