Once upon a time, there was this kid.
He was a cool guy, he was really hot, and his name was Nagito Komaeda.
He kinda had a thing for hope too.
Like, a lot. He was so into hope and making really dope hope that's really fucking good that he was actually willing to create lotsa evil despair so hope could get all shiny and good.
Also he's a bit of a masochist too. Just a little.
Anyways, Komaeda was doin' a little hope dance one day when his friend Hajime Hinata came around to chat.
"Yo KoKolicious what the whoa are we gonna do about being trapped on this island, it kinda fucking sucks?" Hinata asked.
Oh yeah did I mention that Ko and Hinata were two of many people that were trapped on an island and there was an evil bear thing named Monokuma and he wanted the people to kill each other or else things happen? And if you kill someone and get caught then you get killed too?
No?
Well yeah that's kinda what's going on right now just so you know.
"Why don't we like kill a bunch of people and build a raft out of their bodies?" Ko asked Hinata.
"No Ko killing people is bad, people die when they are killed and that's just really fucked up." Hinata responded and then hit Komaeda on the head with a rolled up newspaper because that's what happens to bad Ko's.
"Aw but Hinata-kun we need more despair so we can get more hope and killing a bunch of people would do that so we could get more hope." Komaeda replied.
"No Komaeda. Just... No." Hinata said.
"Alright... How foolish of me..." Komaeda replied.
So then Ko sat down and started thunking. He needed to make more despair so the other people could create a big shining hope of hopefulness, but he couldn't think of anything other than killing someone... He was in quite the pickle, and Komaeda hated pickles. A lot.
Suddenly a young woman that Komaeda had never seen before appeared behind a tree and started whispering things at him like.
"Don't give up hope!" "You can do it!" "Hope is dope!" "<3!"
So Komaeda was kinda getting annoyed since he was trying to think, so he got up and walked over to the woman and was all like, "Guurl, why you whispering hope things and hearts at me?" Komaeda asked.
"Because you're like the coolest guy ever and I love you." She said.
"Who even are you?" Komaeda asked, ignoring the whole love thing.
"I am a mysterious person that really likes hope, and that's all I can say without this getting kinda meta, I guess you can call me... The hope person!" She replied.
"Okay then." Komaeda said.
"Hey u want some hope? I got lotsa hope." The Hope Person asked.
"Yes I love hope gimme." He said.
"Well actually it isn't actually hope, it's hope insurance." She replied.
"And what's hope insurance?" KoKolicious asked.
"It's like... Insurance for hope. If you lose all your hope through methods like extreme amounts of despair, death by being dropped in a volcano, death by getting stabbed a bunch by thingies, then you, or a friend or relative if you die, will get an equal or possibly even greater amount of hope in return! It's fantastically great!" Hope Person replied.
"okay how much is it i need it real bad right now." Komaeda said quickly.
"It's like, ten billion Monokuma coins and a smooch beeyatch." She replied.
"Why would you want to kiss someone like me?" Komaeda asked.
"Because you're super hot." Hope person replied.
"No, no I'm not, I'm unworthy of such praise." Ko responded.
"Well fine you can say that all you want but it's true and you won't be gettin' no hope insureance without no smooch." Hope person retorted quickly.
"Alright fine, here you go." Komaeda said, handing over exactly ten billion Monokuma coins and giving Hope Person a smooch on the cheek.
"Aw shiet thanks love u bb." Hope Person said.
"Whatever, I guess it is for a fellow hope enthusiast, so don't mention it." Komaeda replied.
Then Hope Person flew away feelin' pretty dang gud.
"I get the feeling that more strange things like this will happen very soon." Komaeda said with a slightly worried tone.
The Changeling queen Chrysalis was mad because she got her butt kicked by ponies at that stupid wedding, and she was really super mad.
"Man I'm so mad, how is my army so dumb!" she said.
"Oh I know, I need some hope! If I eat hope than I can feed it to my kiddies, also hope tasted good.
So then Queen Chrysalis started charging up her magic to summon the most hopeful being ever in the entire everywhere of all time.
After several days of nonstop using the spell, a blinding white bolt of lightning came out of the sky, broke through Chrysalis' roof, and met the ground with a loud crash.
"Oh shit finally." Chrysalis said.
"Ow." something tall said as it rose from the ground, an ominous cloud of dust surrounding it.
The Changeling Queen gasped as the dust slowly cleared. "What are you?" She asked once she got a better look.
"My name is Nagito Komaeda, I'm a human, I don't know what you are, and I'm apparently super lucky as funk." Komaeda said.
"Cool, do you like hope?" Chrysalis asked.
"Do I like hope?" Komaeda asked, glaring at the horse thing that kinda reminded him of some foreign cheese he couldn't remember the name to.
Komaeda took a huge breath in, and Chrysalis got a slightly concerned look on her face as he did so.
**twelve hours later**
Queen Chrysalis sat there with a baffled look on her face.
This kid or whatever, had been going on for almost twelve whole hours about hope. She had tuned out all the talking, but she could still hear the constant noise, and it was starting to give her a headache.
"Whatever, this kid is obviously super hopeful, I'll just drain all his hope and be on with my day." She thought to herself.
The changeling started powering up her horn.
"And so that's how I learned about the importance of lampsha- oh hey, what are you doing?" Komaeda asked.
"I'm gonna cast a spell on you and increase your hope tenfold!" Chrysalis said.
"Whoa you can really do that!?" Ko asked.
"Yeah totally." Changeling said.
But right before the spell was casted, Komaeda's hope sense started tingling, and told him that the spell was not good.
So then Komaeda ran away.
"How the hell did he figure it out?" Chrysisis asked herself.
