Rain pelted down on the castle windows, I stared out at the cold wet land below ponies sheltered from
the cold rain, mares and stallions walked together holding each other close. "Flo!!!" my brother's deep
voice made me jump "what!?" I asked annoyed
"mom...I..I mean Celestia need's to speak to you" I looked at him curiously
surely I hadn't done anything wrong, had I?

The stairs to her throne was long but once I walked threw those doors I could tell something was wrong the princess
had a look of worry to her face and was sending guards off in all directions "you wish to speak with me Princess" I asked
in my best Royal Canterlot voice.

"Yes Fluorescent it's quite difficult to say this but, it's time you know"

"About?"

Now this was confusing what was it that I didn't know I lived in this castle for most of my life and was prone to everything
that happened here so what didn't I know? "your parents."

My face fell, I've never spoken about them not after they're passing "you don't know the truth"

"What!? You mean I was lied to!?"

Celestia came over and wrapped her wing around me just like when I was a foal and I had gotten hurt or I was upset about something. Celestia had been my "foster" mother ever since the tragic accident, or at least what I thought had happened.

"Now Flo promise me you won't be angry at me,I never told you because it was for the best, you're ready now and I believe you wont go seeking for The Dark Lord"

Celestia lowered her head.

"Promise me, we cannot lose another"

She glared at me her intimidating purple eyes which were filled with sorrow,worry and fear.

"I promise Princess"

"Do you vow on the land of Equestraia young Alicorn"

I looked up startled by the new voice, but it was only Luna.

"I vow on our land ruled by both princesses of sun and moon"

"Very well. Proceed dear sister"

Celestia bowed her head in thanks.

"My dear foal your parents were not killed by the train headed from Applelousa to Canterlot.....Instead they risked they're life trying to save me from King Sombra. He's darkness got the best of him and turned he's warm beating heart to a cold stone in hes chest. He's wish was to take over all of Equestria."

Celestia stopped letting me take it all in

"Luna and I tried to defeat and banish Sombra but the darkness that took over he's heart made he's magic strong and dangerous, inflicting anypony could be killed with a single strike. Your parents saved me they manged to block the spell but it bounced and struck them as I fled your parents were killed, instantly. Luna banished him to the Crystal Empire by mistake and has ruled ever since forcing the Crystal Ponies to be slaves."

I sat there tears flowing down my face

"WHY DID YOU TELL ME NOW!?"

I demanded I stomped my hooves.

"BECAUSE!" Luna roared.

"Silence dear sister" Celestia said putting her hoof in front of her sisters chest,

"Sombra's power has grown and he knows that I'm still alive and will do anything in hes power to have me dead so he can have Equestria"

"What now princess?" I asked.

"You and your brother will be going to live in Ponyville for now it is safer there and as long as you and your brother are safe nothing matters"

"Wh... What do you mean by nothing matters?"

"When you arrive in Ponyville, don't think about me or Luna don't think about Canterlot and most impotently DO NOT RETURN!"

"I understand Princess" I said weakly my throat felt dry my wings weak and weighing my whole body down.

"Do one thing Fluorescent for me"

"Anything Princess" I manged to squeak.

"Try and make friends they will distract you from the dangers of Canterlot"

"I'll try Princess"

"You leave tomorrow so start packing"

"Yes Princess" I forced my hooves to drag me to my room and start packing; knowing I'd be leaving everything I've known the rug the Celestia laid on when rocking me in her wing, the wall-length windows were I could watch the sunrise every morning and set every evening. Soon I'd be starting a new life. Nothing like this one completely different. Friends. Why would I need friends? I've been alone almost all my life and I'm much better that way, I do not need friends. I will train myself to fight Sombra whether I succeed or die trying the Princess must live!

When the moon rose I knew it was time for bed. I needed all my strength for my trip to Pony-Ville as Celestia had said. I tried but couldn't sleep I walked down the corridors and found Luna on a balcony looking over Canterlot.

"Luna what are you doing"

"Guarding for any signs of Sombra. Aren't you supposed to be asleep?" she asked turning to me,

"Well yes but I couldn't manage" Luna wrapped her wing around me,

"Luna?"

"yes?"

"why did Sombra grow evil?"
"Well Flo you know when you stopped looking for those monsters under your bed?" I giggled at that.

"Yea"

"Well you realized the monsters were inside you"

"Really?"

"Yes we all have evil but we all have good. And sometimes we let the evil win and it takes over our life forgetting everything,everyone and any happy thought."

"woah" I said I never knew Luna knew this!

"And Flo?"

"Yeah"

"Your brother has a raging anger inside him, if Sombra ever finds you don't let him take your brother okay? I know you can keep it from happening I have much faith in you."
