A day with my mother

It’s been a week since the accident at the evergreen forest and Celestia as become very protective of Lightning. Celestia will not let Lightning leave the castle or when she does she’ll always be with a guard, but never alone. One day when Lightning was in the castle grading she was playing with some animals when….

"Princess!" shouted a unicorn guard "You shouldn’t be outside alone!"

"I’m just playing" said Lightning in her defense

"Your mother, doesn’t want you to be alone" said the guard "Come with me, princess" said the guard as he pick up the princess.

"Fine" said Lightning while be carried back to the castle

The unicorn guard bought Lightning to the throne room, he put Lightning back on the ground and left to go back to his post.

"Lightning, did you go outside?" ask Celestia while she was sitting on her throne

"Yes" said Lightning "I was just playing with some animals"

"I don’t want you to be alone" said Celestia as she got up from her throne and walk towards Lightning.

"Why?" ask Lightning while she watches her mother sit in front of her

"I don’t want you to get hurt, honey" said Celestia while she covered her daughter with her wings "I don’t know what I would do, if I lost you"

"But, I don’t want to spend my life in this castle" said Lightning

"I know" said Celestia while she put Lightning back on the ground "Let’s spend the day together?"

"But don’t you have to work?" ask Lightning

"There nothing to do" said Celestia "And I’m going to spend it with you"

"Okay!" said Lightning in a joyful tone while she stood up "Where should we go?"

"Ponyville" said Celestia while she smile at her daughter "Let’s go" said Celestia while she used her magic to pick up Lightning and put her on her back.

While flying to Ponyville, Celestia showed Lightning all the landmarks of Equestria and the beauty of nature.

"Wow! This is awesome" said Lightning while she looks at Equestria from her mother’s back

"Yes it is, honey" said Celestia while she flew careful so her daughter wouldn't fall off her back "We`re here" said Celestia as she landed at Cloudsdale.

"I can’t wait!" shouted Lightning as she tried to jump off her mother`s back

"Lightning!" said Celestia as she used her magic to lower her daughter on the ground "Your too young, to jump from that height"

"Mom! I am a Pegasus too" said Lightning as she was lowered to the ground "I could have tried flying"

"Not yet, Lightning" said Celestia while she fix Lightnings mane with her magic "Now lets go have some fun!"

Lightning ran off to explore this city in the sky with her mother who`s not far be hide.

"Its so big!" notice Lightning as she couldn't stop looking all over the place "And where walking on, clouds!"

"We have the ability to do so" said Celestia "If you were an unicorn or earth pony, you would pass right though it"

"Really?" said Lightning as she lifted her hoof to see if she wasn't going to fall through the clouds.

"You won’t fall, sweetie" said Celestia while she giggled

While Celestia was showing her daughter, Cloudsdale there were often stop by Pegasus. Who all were showed their respect to the princess Celestia, But didn't notice that Lightning was an alicorn as well. Most likely since nopony know she was Celestia`s daughter or an alicorn.

"Can we get some, ice cream?" ask Lightning as she stop at a ice cream shop

"Of course" said Celestia as she walk towards the store "Stay here, I won’t be long"

"Alright" said Lightning as she sat down on a patch of cloud

As Lightning was waiting for her mother to return, she was tap on the shoulder by a stallion Pegasus.

"Excuse me" said the stallion

"Yes" said Lightning as she turn around to face the pony, she saw a white coated Pegasus, with blue eyes, with a gray mane and dark and gray clouds for a cutie mark.

"Are you an, Alicorn?" ask the Pegasus

"Yes, why?" ask Lightning as she quickly glance back at the store to see if her mother wasn't coming back.

"How? there only Princess Celestia and Luna" said the stallion "Thats impossible!" shouted the stallion as he got closer to Lightnings horn.

"Can you back away, please" ask Lightning as she started to feel uncomfortable with this stallion

"Excuse me!" shouted Celestia as she notice this weird pony was next to her daughter.

"Princess!" said the stallion in shock "What are you doing here?" ask the stallion as he bowed.

"What are you doing?" ask Celestia as her tone in voice raised

"This filly as a horn" said the stallion as he pointed at Lightning`s head with his hoof

"I know!" said Celestia while she used her magic to pick up Lightning "We will be leaving" said Celestia while putting her precious filly on her back and opened her wings.

"Of course, princess" said the stallion in a confused tone

The stallion watch Princess Celestia fly off with the strange filly on her back.

"Mom, who was that pony?" ask Lightning as she look back at the stallion who was still looking at them.

"I don’t know, honey" said Celestia "Let’s go find a quiet spot, to eat our ice cream"

"Alright" said Lightning

Celestia landed at a quiet park that was in the same direction as Canterlot.

"Here you go" said Celestia as she gave her daughter the ice cream

"This is good!" said Lightning as she was making a mess with her ice cream

"Lightning, your making a mess" said Celestia as she smiled at her "Here" as she used the tip of her wing to clean Lightning`s face.

"I love ice cream!" said Lightning as she started to eat the cone

"Me too" said Celestia as she started to eat hers

Both Celestia and Lightning finished their ice cream.

"That was a fun day" said a yawning Lightning

"It looks like somepony, sleepy" said Celestia

"No I'm not........." said Lightning as she fall asleep

Celestia returned to Canterlot, to put a sleepy filly to bed. As they arrived at Canterlot. Celestia used her magic to transfer the sleeping filly, from her back to her soft wing. As she was walking towards her daughter room, Celestia decide to bring Lightning to her room instead. She enter her room, and careful used her magic to put her sleeping filly on the bed and went beside her.

"Goodnight, Lightning" said Celestia as she kiss her sleeping filly on the cheek "I will always protect you" said Celestia as she smiled and put her head near Lightning`s.

Within the night Celestia could feel that Lightning was getting cold, so she covered her cold filly with her warm and soft wing. Mother and daughter spend most of the night in the same position.
