%3% How we accidentaly destroyed Buckingham Palace

Previous Chapter

The TARDIS came to a sudden stop. According to the Doctor, we had made a perfect stop, right in the middle of London. i was still skeptical about wether or not this was real until I walked out the door.

"OH MY GOD" I half squealed. We had landed in a big park, there were trees everywhere and in the distance, you could see Big Ben. 'We're in London!"

"Weeelll, never mind the center, I might have missed a bit, but yes; we're in London and we have about two hours to trot around and see the city before the TARDIS is ready to go again. What do you say?" He asked looking over my shoulder.

I was too amazed to respond. I just walked into the park. I had just travelled to the other side of Equestria in less than 30 seconds. Wait, time, what day were we?

"Interesting! London in the 1980s looks a lot more advanced than when I came here last time!" I could hear the Doctor talking while I picked up a newspaper Laying on the ground.

"Umm Doctor, this newspaper says that we're in 2026" I commented.

"Oh, well I might have forgotten to lock on to the right time stream properly" He answered, sounding too casual for comfort.

"Are you saying you don't know how to fly your own ship?" I asked quizzically.

'Let's explore the city, shall we?" He asked, completely ignoring my question.

"Fine, let's go" I figured arguing with this crazy pony was going to be impossible.

As we walked towards the city's center, something popped up in my mind. "How come no one noticed a blue box appear out of thin air?" I asked suddenly.

"The TARDIS has a perception filter on it, you won't notice it unless someone brings it to your attention"  He replied.

"Oh, because that makes everything sooo much clearer" I responded sarcastically.

"Well I'm glad you learned something new" He said very seriously. [Ugh, this pony is impossible] I thought to myself.

Just then, we heard a scream coming from an alleyway close by. "That's not normal" Said the Doctor sounding worried.

"YOU DON'T SAY" I yelled, already galloping for the alleyway.

"Crimson... Wait WAI- Ugh fine, slow down" He called galloping right behind me.

When we got to the source of the scream, we saw a younger mare, maybe 14, huddled in the back of the alleyway crying softly and whispering "Just let me wake up! Please..." Over and over again.

"Are you alright?" I asked softly as I approached the young mare.

"Please... Let me wake up, make the snakes go away" Moaned the young pony.

"The snakes?" Asked the Doctor.

"Hush" I told him before turning  my attention back to the red and blue lump of tears. "I'm not going to hurt you." I told her softly. "My name is Crimson Light, what's yours?"

The mare finally looked up. Tears had soaked her bright red fur. Her fur was the same color as my mane, a fiery bright red. Her ocean blue mane was a tangled mess. "I'm... I'm Ocean Flare" She sniffled.

"Well Ocean, let's get you back home." I tried to put on a comforting (everything's going to be alright) tone. "This is my friend the Doctor, and he might know a thing or two about these snakes you're talking about."

Ocean hesitated for a moment before shakily standing up. "Alright... but could we grab something to drink first?"

"Sure thing kiddo!" exclaimed the Doctor "I saw a coffee shop on the way here. We can head there and you can tell me about these snakes."

"Kiddo? Really?" I asked the Doctor on the way to the coffee shop. He said something about time travel making sayings complicated and caught up with Ocean.

I went inside to order the coffee while the Doctor and Ocean talked about snakes. When I got back outside with the coffee, Ocean was a lot more relaxed and willing to talk about her "Dreams" with the Doctor.

When the questioning was over and Ocean had returned home, the Doctor finally filled me in on what was happening.

"So, this mare, Ocean is having nightmares about snakes hiding out in the Buckingham Palace. A quick scan around the perimeter alerted me that she is not the only one having these nightmares. More and more ponies are getting the snake dreams every night and they also seem to be getting more intense. So I'm guessing that we are dealing with some kind of parasite that is collecting information about the equestrian kind through their dreams." He said quickly.

"Wait, You're guessing?" I asked Incredulously "You have no idea what these things are?"

"No idea whatsoever!" He put on a crazy face. "So what do you think about a trip to Buckingham Palace?"

"Whoa Wait!! So you want to get into Buckingham Palace to reason with snake-things that are gathering information through dreams?'

"Exactly" He replied too eagerly.

"Great! Just great!" But I did have a plan to get into the palace for the night. "Well do the oldest trick in the book. Hide in the bathroom until the Palace closes for the night, then we'll crawl out and all we'd have to do is watch out for the sleepy nighttime guards." I suggested.

"That's sounds like a terrible idea, but it's worth a shot!" He said carefully.

So later that day, we hid in the palace bathrooms until closure time. We then crawled out into the darkness of the palace and started looking around for some sort of clue. For once everything was going perfectly, until we literally bumped into a guard. Faster than we could react, sirens were blaring and we were running from security guards. We kept running until we came upon a ladder. We climbed it hastily, the Doctor locked the trapdoor at the top with some kind of buzzy stick machine, a sonic screwdriver he called it.

"There, that should hold the guards for a while. We should be safe now" He was about to continue talking when I interrupted him.

"Ummm Doctor. Why don't you take a quick look around the attic for a second?" I said nervously.

We were standing on a platform next to a big machine, and all around us were very large snakes staring at us with puzzled and aggressive looks.

"Well at least we found what we were looking for!" Said the Doctor with a nervous chuckle. Then addressing the snakes, he said "I'm the Doctor and this is my friend Crimson. We demand you to stop this operation and return people's dreams to the state they were at before."

The snakes started to hiss, almost as if they were laughing. "Ssssooo tell usss Doctor, why sssshould we?" Hissed one of the snakes.

"Umm Doctor, did that snake just talk?" I asked unnerved.

"Yes, Well not really, the TARDIS translates every language! That's why you can understand them!" He told me, Then he turned his attention back to the snakes. "Because your life support unit is right next to me and my sonic screwdriver can very easily turn it off and you all know what happens when the life support is off!" He said triumphantly

"But you wouldn't dare, because it would create an explosion that would destroy this whole palacccce! Including YOU!" Hissed another snake. "Ssssoo we refuse to stop the operationssss!"

"Then I'm so, so sorry, but you should never underestimate a fully charged TARDIS!" He pointed his sonic screwdriver at the machine, took my hoof and yelled GEROMINOOOO before leaping into thin air.

Fire from the explosion blasted outwards just as the TARDIS materialized around us! The last thing we heard from the snakes was "We curse you doctor! The Matrilians curse you!" and a lot of very colorful words.

"Ha-ha! What were you saying about me not being able to fly my TARDIS!?" He yelled cheerfully.

This time it was me who ignored him. "We just destroyed Buckingham Palace!" I said out loud.

"So I'm taking that as you want to go home?" He said, he sounded a bit sad.

"I guess..." I responded blankly not knowing what to say.

When we got back home, I said my goodbyes to the Doctor and plopped down on my couch. All my problems hit me like a train*. While traveling with the Doctor, I had forgotten I had no Cutie Mark, no physical relationships, I had forgotten everything bad when I was with the Doctor. Then I wondered why the Doctor hadn't gone yet when the TARDIS door opened and the Doctor walked out.

"Umm Crimson... Well I was wondering if... You know it gets lonely traveling alone... and well... would you like to accompany me in my future travels?" He stumbled over his words and grinned sheepishly.

"Are you asking me on a date?" I said jokingly.

"No! I mean... Ugh!" He let out an exasperated sigh.

"Of course I'll come with you, you silly pony! I haven't had as much fun in my entire life as I have in the past two days" I exclaimed.

We both headed back into the TARDIS laughing, ready for new discoveries. Just as the TARDIS light faded away from view, a blue light appeared in my room and two golden robotic ponies stepped out into the light.
