I was always the happy, funny guy. I never wanted anyone to know I harbored a secret depression. Over the past few months a had let the ponies into my life and experienced a happiness I had only known as a child. I had developed an obsession with the show along with a crush on Rainbow Dash.
But along with the hope and promise of season 4 the show had was no longer enough. Every moment of my life not with the ponies became nearly unbearable.
I was very open about my love of the show and was pleasantly surprised that some of my close friends were also bronies. Though the majority of people in my school bullied me for it. I’d heard them all ponyfag, pedophile, gay I could go on. I’d always been bullied but that still didn’t take the sting of their words away.
I had learned to face the facts, humanity was a lost cause. I knew soon some kind of catastrophe would soon destroy the world.
I wanted to be a pony in Equestria. But that was impossible, at least that’s what I thought no matter how little I wanted to admit it.
It was the last day of school before we could leave for Christmas break. I sat in the back of my 8th grade English class next to my best friend Will. I leaned back in my chair stretching my Vinyl Scratch shirt stretching when Will said “It’s been a tough week man but your almost through it.” He was one of the few people who knew about my depression, “Yeah it’s been a rough week” I responded. I was bullied regularly and it had been tough.
That’s actually why I became a brony just to help cure my depression. It worked, for a while at this point in time I just didn’t know what to do.
I closed my eyes and tried to relax some before class started, when suddenly I felt something slam into my face. “Sup ponyfag” I heard a voice scream from across the room. It was Jake my worst enemy, I opened my eyes and saw three boys standing there laughing. I stood up from my chair. I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard Will say “Just let it go there not worth it.” I sat back down in my chair and closed my eyes and imagined Rainbow Dash flying and a smile settled on my face.
The most of the rest of the day was the same people being douches and Will calming me down with the same phrase” Just one more day.” But in P.E I snapped.
We were playing a free for all dodge ball game and I was glad the day was almost over, when Jake picked up a ball which at the time wasn’t that important to me. I was standing in the back next to my friend Z when a ball hit him in the face, so obviously I picked up the ball and ran across the gym. I ran past Jake and he, with the ball in his hand he punched me in the face as hard as he could.
I fell over on the ground, holding my jaw. As he and others nearby began to laugh, I heard people scream “Oh dude you hit that gaywad.” I lied on the floor trying to ignore the pain when he stomped on my crotch and he screamed “ You don’t need these f**ker.” I curled up into fetal position and looked at the teachers who were looking and slightly chuckling. I lied on the floor and began to laugh.
The game soon ended and my group of friends walked up to me while I was still on the floor laughing in the middle of the gym. Bryce, Z, Will, Chandler, and Hunter all came an knelt beside me. “Dude stop laughing it’s not funny.” Hunter said in a serious voice. “It’s his way of dealing with it” Bryce said “Just let him be.” Will had apparently gone and told the coach who of course didn’t believe us. They just sat my me while I lied on the floor laughing maniacally.
Finally the school day ended and I got on the bus home. The ride was uneventful. When I reached my stop I walked home, entered my house, and sat on my couch. I turned on my playstation and started my little pony on Netflix. I started Sonic Rainboom and began to smile. No matter how crappy everything was I still had these ponies.
I suddenly felt a falling sensation and was knocked unconscious. When I awoke I was in Ponyville with Mayor Mare a few feet from me and a big crowd behind her. When I heard Mayor Mare say “ May I be the first to welcome the newest resident of Ponyville.”
